"Oh my?!" An old man that India had seen pictured in the store when she went with daddy exclaimed.
"Whats wrong?" Mrs Benwick asked looking from the girl to the man.
"Nothing it's fine" He said, "She just looks like someone i used to know".
Mrs Benwick nodded, "Okay India you have to stay here for a while til we track down your father okay?".
India nodded still staring at the man shocked that she was meeting him after looking at his picture for years.
"Come on India" He smiled at her, "Come meet my great granddaughters".
India nodded and he helped her inside.
He led her through to the lounge room on the right and sat her down, "India this is Kerry and Abigail".
Kerry smiled at India and asked her if she wanted to play with some toys that were in the corner and the man said that he was just going to make a quick call.
"Rebecca" He said, "Is Bridget or Declan there?".
Rebecca was shocked that Harold had rung looking for her deceased daughter-in-law "No Bridget died..".
"Oh" Harold felt saddened.
"Why do you want her or Declan anyway?" Rebecca asked.
"Because i just got given India as a foster child" Harold told her.
Rebecca dropped the phone then quickly picked it up again, "Okay well can i talk to Indy?".
"Yes i'll put her on" Harold said walking back into the lounge room.
"India your grandma is on the phone" Harold told her.
"Grandma!" India started jumping up and down, "Can i talk to her?".
Harold handed the phone to the little girl.
"Granny!!" India yelled grinning.
"India what have daddy and I told you about shouting into phones" Rebecca shook her head, "I'm going to track down daddy and tell him to come get you okay?".
"Yes!" India cried grinning, "Daddy! i miss him! Mrs Benwick didnt believe that i had a daddy!".
"Who's Mrs Benwick?" Rebecca asked her.
"The so...so...so...umm worker lady" India tried to pronounce.
"Oh, can you put Harold back on the phone?" Rebecca asked her.
"Yep, Harold" India held the phone up to him.
"Hi Rebecca" Harold said.
"I'm going to come get India myself" Rebecca told him.
"Sorry thats not possible" Harold told her.
"Why not?" Rebecca asked.
"It has to be a parent" Harold sighed, "Social services is very clear on that".
"But i'm her grandma!" Rebecca cried outraged, "Surely that counts for something?".
"It still has to be a parent, and considering noone seems to be able to contact Declan it might be a while" Harold said.
"Can i see her at least?" Rebecca asked.
"Yes but only at supervised visits" Harold told her.
"Supervised visits what kind of crap is this!" Rebecca yelled out in shock, "India is my granddaughter, Declan is my son! i'm going to fight this when i get to Sydney!".
Rebecca hung up and Harold sighed looking back down at India who was wide eyed in shock, "Why was granny yelling at you?".
