If it was our friend Lia I'm actually going to crack the shits at them....I said it was probs them in the decget argh thread haha anyway as you said, James would have said in his interviews 'I'm leaving because.....' not that he were to pursue other interests. It's stupid, I hope TV week asked James if it were okay, because I think this could actually go against him someway or another...and I hope Jordan Smith or whatever his name is asked James if it was okay.... OR this must mean he's been accepted and it can be said.

when i read that bit that jordon guy said about he'll probably get shot on the first day - i felt really sad, because i don't know about australia but there are soldiers deaths reported every other day in the uk. It's horrible. I hope he knows what he is risking

we dont get many..there was a big hoo haa about some guy from briagalong getting shot...actually he shot himself accidently... a few years back but i dont really hear of many..or maybe i dont pay enough attention...

anyway the guy from briagalong was an idiot according to my uncle who knew him because briagalong is like tiny!

The UK gets a lot of casualties reported because I think there's proportionally more of us and we're in the bad bit (Helmand)... at least that's what people whinge on about anyway, I'm really uninformed. This is what I get for watching Home and Away instead of the news!

This might be a stupid question but does this mean he definitely got in then..? I guess it must do. That Jordan guy sounds a bit morbid saying that, doesn't seem very tactful but whatever.

Maybe he'll be headhunted for his acting abilities and be a spy instead anyway... that'd be good!

Sorensen leaves Neighbours to join Army

Neighbours star James Sorensen will quit the popular soap to reportedly join the army.

Sorensen, who plays popular single dad Declan Napier in the soap, revealed in January that he was quitting but a colleague has told TV Week magazine the 23-year-old will be signing up with the armed forces.

Fellow star Jordan Smith, who plays Andrew Robinson, told the magazine Sorensen was excited to don the army fatigues.

"He's really serious about it — it's just something he really wants to do," Smith told TV Week.

"He's been training really hard, but I wish he'd stay — he's become a really good mate.

"I've told him he's going to get shot on his first day, but he's adamant he wants to go!"

A spokeswoman for Network Ten said Sorensen will be on screens for another two months before his on-screen replacement, actor Erin Mullally, takes over the role of Declan.

"James has been a much loved member of the cast for the past few years and will be dearly missed," the spokeswoman told ninemsn in a statement.

Sorensen's management would not confirm a move to the armed forces but said he would "no longer be acting".

"At the moment he's not going to continue with his acting," a spokeswoman for Sorensen's management, Catherine Poulton Management told ninemsn.

Yeppp knowoing TV Week (not that I do) someone probably tipped them off then they thought to go to the most likely person to reveal anything and the convo probably went like this

TVW: "Hey we heard this...."
JS: "yeh it's true"
TVW: "oh cool thanks for that, you've just revealed something that we didn't actually know, thank you"
JS: "Oh shit" <- in his cute mixed accent

ETA: I really hope this doesn't go full blast and international but it will. Whoever told TV Week about it in the first place (not Jodan, but him too) I hope they feel like shit because it wasn't their place to reveal it. Obviously it was wanted to be kept quiet otherwise he'd have come out directly and said why he was leaving but James didn't. We incidently found bits and pieces of things which added up and the put two and two together but we're just....

Yeah well i'd never ever ever reveal why he's leaving, that's his job, i know how i'd feel about that, if someone told everyone about my life so i dont see it right to reveal it about other people!!

and plus we just find out this stuff for our own benefit, i mean we are decget.com which means we have to be up to speed on all James and Eloise news as well as Declan and Bridget mentions!

It does sound like he's avoiding saying anything on it now that you mention it... you'd think TVWeek or Jordan smith would have thought about him maybe not wanting it out there. That's pretty insensitive.

As per always, almost no Neighbours people nominated for Logies....all frigggin Home and Away and Packed to the Rafters....nothing for James, that I can see, and Ashleigh Brewer is up for best new talent.
