This is the problem isn't - life just simply gets in the way of fun. I tell you all I want to do is decorate our new nursery but can't as our junk is still in it, got to get rid of that then I can start really nesting!!! Have fun writing it down, I am sure I am not the only one who waits for the next installments. You're doing a great job entertaining us with something we all long for to be real. You are fueling that imagination in us.

No you're not the only one, I am always very impatient for the next installment, but I can't say much because it is usualy me who is stopping her from doing it by getting her to write me a webpage for the site or something.

Chapter 12
As James kissed her softly on the lips Eloise felt a tingle move up her spine. She had tried to convince herself that the passion between them the night before could be blamed totally on the alcohol. She realized now how very wrong she was. Their desire grew quickly as they let their arms wrap around each other and their kisses became almost desperate. Eloise was the first to pull away and they stared at each other panting. She desperately needed to get some distance between them but began to panic when she realized her crutches were out of reach and she was stuck there. “James,” she sighed, “you are going to have to get up and go out onto the balcony for some air.” “What?” he asked her in total confusion. “Well one of us needs to back away from this situation. Normally that would be me, but now obviously I can’t, so it’s going to have to be you,” she explained, trying to sound sane. He stared at her but couldn’t suppress the smile that was growing on his lips. “Sorry! No can do,” he said with a mock sad expression on his face. “Well we both can’t stay here on this lounge,” she told him. “You seem to be having fun to me,” he said cheekily. She could feel herself getting slightly annoyed now. “James! Is this all a big game for you is it? Because this is a big deal to me, a big deal that I’m not ready for.” “ I’m sorry! And no it’s not a game to me at all…surely you know that,” he sighed, becoming serious again. “And what about Lisa? Now she really has something to get angry about,” Eloise continued. “I broke up with her last night, when she dropped me home,” he confessed, “she’s not the one I have feelings for.” “Oh!” Eloise said softly. It was the only response she could muster. “Oh,” he replied raising his eyebrows “is that all you have to say?” “Well I really don’t know what else to say James. I am so confused right now. I’ve got no idea what I want, no idea what you want, no idea how you feel, and no idea how I feel for that matter,” she blurted out without taking a breath. After hearing her outburst James decided he now definitely needed some air. He looked away from her sadly and got up and headed for the balcony. “Where are you gong?” she asked worried. “I am taking your advice. I am getting some fresh air,” he said as he disappeared out through the sliding door. “Great! What did I suggest that for,” she muttered to herself as she sat alone on the lounge. Now she needed to talk, needed to hear what his feelings were, needed to sort this out once and for all, if that was at all possible. And what did he do…walk outside…just like she had suggested. Her crutches were leaning against the wall where James had placed them, and she seriously thought about hopping over there so she could get out on that balcony, but she opted to stay put. She sat there anxiously for a few minutes, staring at the door, waiting for him to return. “James,” she yelled out tentatively when she couldn’t take it any longer. He heard her but didn’t answer. He was too busy analyzing everything. “Am I pushing this too soon? Does she not feel the same way I do? Maybe I just need to back off Maybe we just need to wait a bit longer,” the voices in his head screamed at him. “James, you can’t stay out there all night. I will hop out there if I have to,” she called from inside. He laughed to himself. He contemplated staying put, just to witness that, but he thought better of it. She gave him a gentle smile as he came back in and she patted the lounge next to her. While he was outside she thought of so much she wanted to say to him, but now he was there in front of her, and she looked into those dark beautiful eyes, she couldn’t think of a single thing to say. He gently took her hand and looked her straight in the eye. “I just need to know how you feel El. I know it wouldn’t be wise for us to dive head first into a full on relationship…I realize that and I understand that. But I need to know if you feel the same way as me. I need to know that maybe one day in the future we can give it a go.” She stared into his eyes as she was overcome with emotion, but she still couldn’t speak. “Look there is no one here, there is no Sal, or Jane or Steve to try and tell us what we should be feeling…it’s just us. If you don’t feel the same way then I need to know…now,” he practically begged. She considered lying, thinking that maybe if she did this whole awkward situation would just go away. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t lie to James, or to herself. She looked down at their joined hands then, not being able to look at him. “I’m crazy about you,” she said in almost a whisper, but loud enough for James to hear. A wave of relief and happiness washed over him. “That’s all I needed to hear,” he replied as he gently lifted her chin up with his fingers and they stared lovingly at each other. Her head was willing her body to stay calm. While her body wanted to drag him off to the bedroom her head knew that it couldn’t happen...not yet. “What now? How can we just carry on being friends like nothing has happened?” she said in a worried tone. “I don’t know,” he sighed, “I guess for now we make sure that we stay very good friends…like very close…very special friends.” “What? Not friends with benefits,” she said with a blank expression. “No NO!”, he said shocked, “I have more respect for you…for us, than that. I mean special friends.” “Well what does being special friends entail?” she asked becoming more curious by this suggestion.” “Umm I don’t really know. I’ve never had a special friend before. I guess we just make the rules up as we go,” he suggested. “Well maybe special friends like to spend lots of time together…you know...outside of work,” she volunteered nervously. “Yes definitely! That’s a brilliant rule,” he said excitedly “and maybe a cuddle every now and then, a purely platonic one of course.” “Of course,” Eloise couldn’t help but laugh at his excitement. They beamed with happiness at each other, but as they looked into each other’s eyes the mood intensified and James couldn’t help himself. “What about this?” he said quietly as he slowly leaned in and began kissing her neck. She could feel her desire for him reaching boiling point as he kissed and nibbled that special spot on her neck but when he started letting his hands wander she knew she had to put a stop to it, and fast. “No no, no,” she commanded as she reluctantly squirmed away from him, breathing heavily. “Um yeah…that’s not good. I mean its good…very good…but not good for special friend rules. Maybe I should leave,” he said flustered and he quickly jumped off the lounge and grabbed his keys. Eloise hated the thought of him leaving, even though she knew he probably should. “But I don’t want you to go…and what about the movie? Aren’t you going to watch it with me?” she said trying not to sound too desperate for him to stay. ‘Do you really think that’s a good idea?” he asked still breathing heavily. “Well I don’t see why snuggling on the lounge together to watch a movie can’t be allowed…do you? “ she said cautiously. At that point being so close to her was going to be torture, but he couldn’t refuse. Without saying a word he put his keys down, went into El’s room and grabbed some pillows and a spare blanket. Eloise set them up as James put the movie on. He crawled up next to her as they both settled in under the blanket. He wrapped his arms around her and snuggled in behind her. “Can you see?” she asked turning slightly to face him. He nodded and she snuggled back into his arms. “Now you aren’t going to read the subtitles out loud again are you?” she asked remembering the last time they watched this movie together. He laughed at the memory of it. When he realized it annoyed her so much he continued to do it, claiming it was necessary for his understanding of the movie. At the time she vowed never to watch another sub-titled movie with him ever again. “Aww come on. You know I hate sub-titles. If I want to read I would get a book,” he answered cheekily. “You’re not very cultured are you?” she sighed shaking her head. “I am so cultured,” he said pretending to be hurt, “just because you speak another language and watch arty farty films with sub-titles doesn’t make you anymore cultured than me. Actually of the two of us I think I am way more cultured.” She rolled over again to face him. “Oh really! How so?” she asked with raised eyebrows “Well I play the piano,” he stated. “Pffft..so do I,” she retorted. “I cook,’ he claimed. “So do I,” she said deadpan. “Out of a packet,” he said incredulously, “or maybe for a bit of variety...out of a tin.” She pretended to be offended. “And I take photographs,” he continued. “Again pffft…so do I,” she laughed. She couldn’t resist winding him up. “No, you just point and shoot. Mine are art,” he said proudly. “Yeah well if I had a camera as expensive as yours mine would be art too,” she replied. “Listen are you going to watch this movie or insult me,” he laughed. She couldn’t wipe the smile from her face as she turned back around and he pulled her in even closer to him. It felt so good…for both of them. Neither of them really concentrated on the movie, as they both relished being in each other’s arms. As they both began drifting off to sleep after an exhausting weekend they couldn’t help but wonder just how long they could keep up this special friends status before they wanted more, but most of all they hoped that it wouldn’t ruin their relationship, or their careers, completely.

Chapter 13
Eloise happily hopped into the front seat of Sal’s car, after throwing her crutches on the backseat, along with 3 empty McDonald’s bags. Sal had to race back inside because she had forgotten her lunch, and she was taking so long Eloise began to wonder if she had forgotten her way out of the house as well. Sal finally emerged in a mad rush. “Sorry,” she muttered. “I thought you must have changed your mind and decided not to go to work,” Eloise laughed. “No I remembered I had to put on mascara and then I had to go to the loo, and…” Sal stopped mid sentence as she started the car. “What?” Eloise asked concerned “And after all that I still didn’t grab my lunch,” she moaned as she drove away from the curb, “Oh stuff it, I’ll just buy something,” “You are unbelievable,” Eloise laughed, “You know you really should buy shares in Mcdonalds.” “Hey, I buy from the healthy menu,” she said sternly, “and its healthier than cigarettes…so there.” “Really, well if you can believe you are buying from the healthy McDonald’s menu then I can believe I am smoking the healthy cigarettes…so there.” Sal just laughed and shook her head. “You’re in a good mood this morning,” Sal observed, “especially since you got in so late last night, and it’s only…what 6.00am.This is usually grumpy hour for you.” “Well I am refreshed after that week at mums, and now I am just looking forward to getting back into the swing of things again,” she answered innocently. “Yeah I bet you are. I mean its not everyday a girl loses her virginity,” Sal said deadpan as she concentrated on her driving. “How did you know?” Eloise asked horrified. “James told me,” she replied sweetly, “You know you never keep me in the Bridget and Declan loop. I always have to ask him. Why is that? “Because you would keep banging on about it until I would want to strangle you. So really you should be grateful .I am thinking of your physical health…and my mental health for that matter,” she replied. “Charming,” Sal laughed, “anyway James is looking forward to it. He rang last night looking for you. He was quite disappointed when you weren’t home.” Eloise stayed silent, but she couldn’t hide a smile. She had missed him too, terribly, and she couldn’t wait to see him. “And he happened to mention that you sent him regular text messages too. I got one piddley little message when you arrived and that was it for the whole week,” she said feigning annoyance, “I’m suspicious.” “Well suspicious is your middle name,” Eloise retorted. “I thought sticky beak was my middle name,” she said cheekily. “Yeah that too!” Eloise said rolling her eyes as they pulled into the studio car park, “Oh look at that, we’re here already. What a shame.” “So will lover boy give you a lift home tonight,” Sal asked. ‘No…But James will,” she replied giving her a fake forced smile “Right,” Sal said turning to Eloise seriously, “Now I hope you have brushed your teeth, and that you have got your best undies on.” “Oh for ffff…. heavens sake,” Eloise laughed as she battled to get out of the car and get her crutches. “And if you need any pointers don’t hesitate to call me,” she continued teasing out the window. “Thanks for the lift...you may go now,” Eloise said through the window attempting to ignore her. “And I want to here all the ins and outs…um…. so to speak… when you get home,” she yelled at her as she began to head towards the studio door. “Goodbye,” Eloise yelled over her shoulder trying to suppress the giggles.
She was greeted by the familiar smell of terrible coffee as she walked into the green room. It was very early so she sat herself down on the lounge and started to go over the scripts for that days filming. However she found herself not being able to concentrate as she listened for any sign that James was arriving. Since that night at her place a few months earlier and the decision was made that they would stay as friends…special friends, they had become closer than ever before. They had been spending lots of time together outside of work, but they really tried hard to stick to the rules. The same couldn’t be said for Bridget and Declan however. If asked she would vehemently deny it, but she knew that they were both subconsciously expressing their feelings for each other through Bridget and Declan, and they were both loving it. But they weren’t the only ones. Eloise thought back to the day that Susan Bower had called them into her office.
“Do you think she suspects something?” James asked her nervously as they sat inside Susan’s office waiting. “Suspects what…that we’re friends?” she replied “Oh you know what I mean. Maybe she knows that we’re…. you know,” he continued in a whisper. “Look if she was to ever ask what our relationship is we are not lying when we say we are just friends are we?” “I guess not,” he replied unconvinced,”but what if she asks how we feel about each other.” After careful contemplation she could only come up with one answer “That’s when we lie,” she said shrugging her shoulders. “Hi you two,” Susan said as she entered her office making them both jump slightly. “Hi!” they both replied nervously. “I don’t want to take up too much of your time, but I just wanted to tell you how thrilled we all are about how the Bridget and Declan relationship is going, and the response from the viewers has been very positive too. We have got big plans for you two and I just wanted to congratulate you both.” “Oh …um…thanks,” Eloise replied cautiously. “You sound surprised,” Susan laughed. “Well you never know what’s going to happen when you get called in here really,” Eloise said laughing nervously, “you could split them up for all we know.” “No way. The two of you have created such a beautiful, genuine, emotion between your characters, and that hasn’t come from the scripts as such, but the natural way you interact with each other. Its almost like you’re a real couple.”
“Hey!” Eloise was rudely snapped back into the present with a muscular body practically landing on top of her on the lounge.” “Jesus Christ…. Oh its you,” she beamed. “No its James, not Jesus Christ…sorry,” he teased. She whacked him over the head with her script before throwing it aside and pulling him into a hug, and they sat there for ages, just holding each other. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered in her ear. “I’ve missed you too,” she said as she pulled away slightly to look into those eyes. “You know that rule…that non kissing rule,” James began. “Yeeessss,” she replied raising her eyebrows. “Well since you have been away I have been revising that rule, and I think it should state that kissing is allowed, if and only if, the parties involved in the special friendship haven’t seen each other for a week.” “Really,” she smiled. “Yes. Now we should take a vote on this,” he said, meaning business, “ All those in favour raise you hand,” He grabbed both her arms and lifted them above her head as she began to giggle. “Aargh well its unanimous...4 votes to zero “ he laughed. They couldn’t wipe the smiles from their faces as they slowly leaned towards each other but just as their lips met they could hear Caitlin coming down the hallway and they sprung apart in the nick of time. “You’re back,” she exclaimed as she raced over to give Eloise a hug, “Did you have a good week?” “Just what the doctor ordered,” Eloise replied, trying to hide her annoyance at the interruption, and she couldn’t help but notice a dejected James over Caitlin’s shoulder. “Great. Well I hope you are refreshed because you have got a huge day. And it seems you are going to have to spend it attached to this guys lips,” she said looking at James, “Anyway they want us in wardrobe. Are you guys coming?” “After you,” James said with a sweep of his arm. They smiled at each other as they followed Caitlin up the hall. They both knew they were going to have an enjoyable day of filming…very enjoyable indeed! tbc.....
