I am disappointed that India has basically become a bit part character with seemingly no one looking after her half the time.
There was so much potential for a single dad storyline...

they had it set up so well too! i mean he's bloody 19 years old with an 8 month old daughter? and his wife died...if the writers had any intelligence...which they dont, but if they did..they'd use that storyline instead of making Dec get together with the first girl his eyes set on moments after his wife left for Oakey! gahhh

i've been thinking about this and here is what i find is totally stupid about the whole thing. The reason they killed Didge off is because they couldn't imagine splitting them up because they were so in love. So why would they then have him fall seriously for someone less than 6 months after she died? What was the point? Why the hell didn't they just have Bridget live and let her and India move away?

If they'd only renewed James' contract for 6 months instead of a year (not that he's done the full year anyway) it would have been possible to do a Didge exit storyline without death or breakup. For example, the Parkers do go off to Oakey as planned but when they're due back Didge phones Declan to say there's been a family crisis and she needs to stay out there. (she also phones EHS to say she's staying out there for a minute). Declan continues at school as normal, finishes his exams etc, notices that Didge isnt back yet so leaves his mum (who's got Paul now anyway) and goes off to Oakey to be with Didge and India. He looks after India for the next year while Didge redoes Year 12. And they all live happily ever after.

don't know if this has already been posted somewhere but there's an interview with James on holysoap website about him leaving. It's okay. Nothing special. There is a bit when he mentions how close he is to Ashleigh (bleurgh!), margot and Sam. The rest is pretty much him spouting crap about how grateful he is for neighbours and how he is so gutted to be leaving etc etc

I love how we are still so impressionable, i know i've said this before but anyone who posts something about kacklen always apologizes to decget lovers or writes something about us!
And the fact that the neighbours ratings are so down, neighbours writers have got to start realizing that with us and the ratings combined that letting Eloise go was the worst decision they've ever made...apart from pairing kacklen up!!

Thanks for that Lia. I really enjoyed reading those.
What was quite refreshing is that there was no Didge or Parker bashing to be seen, and everyone really enjoyed these episodes.
I am sure this is the time that some thought Didge was being selfish somehow...no sign of it in those reviews which was great to see.
Gosh I miss the Parkers....all of them...even Miranda.

I think Declan should move in with the Kennedys, after all they're missing a stray since Ringo went...
