I was thinking this coz of when Ringo was going out with Jessica, they seemed really in love, sure Ringo was devistated for a little while but he moved on to Didge, then to Donna then to that Ashleigh chick (I never saw those episodes because i was out of australia when they aired) then back to Donna all in the one year after Jessica died. Completely different situation there as far as I'm concerned. Ringo and Jessica had been flirting with each other for about a week prior to the roof collapse, and mainly only because Jessica was throwing herself at Ringo. I seriously doubt either loved each other. So him moving on to Didge (which was a good few months later anyway) was pretty natural. I think Ringo was devastated so much (for a week or so) because he was with her when she died and so was in shock more than anything.

but still, i know i'm being morbid and whatever but if they didnt have India, sure Dec would be devistated as such for a few weeks, month or two maybe but it would be like they didnt have any connections after that time.
That's why i'm really glad that she had India before she died because at least India's a constant reminder of her for Declan.

She also has given him a focus to carry on with his day to day life, which is very realistic!!!

I have been very quiet on the subject up until now because I just haven't felt like talking about it, I've been in denial and mourning. It really has affected me badly. But tonight I finally feel that I am ready to talk about it. I thought it was beautifully written and performed, everybody involved seemed to pull out all the stops to make everything perfect. I particularly liked Didge's dream sequences the location was beautiful, the scoring was perfect, the editing was fantastic Eloise and James pulled off an amazing performance, the writing was superb, the little girl they cast as India age 1 was so cute and a perfect combination of James and Eloise If I didn't know any better I would have said that she was their secret daughter (something for your behind the scenes fanfic suse ) even the costume was spot on. I have watched those scenes over and over again. I would love to be able to shake the hand of everyone who was involved in those episodes and congratulate them on a job extremely well done. and as for me, I don't think I have ever cried so much whilst watching a television programme in all my life. I had to stop half way through watching Didge's last two episodes (I had to watch them back to back for some reason I can't now remember) and go and get a toilet roll because I had made the mistake of watching the episodes without any tissues in the house. I would like to congratulate James on not being afraid to look a complete wreck on screen as most actors seem to be these days. Alot of actors shed one or two perfect tears down their perfectly made up face and that's it. James looked completely destroyed by the loss of Didge and made the whole thing seem so real although from what I have read in a couple of interviews I think he genuinely was completely destroyed by the loss of Didge.

Aww I didn't mean to pester you Chris lol, but its is lovely to hear your thoughts on the last few weeks. I still haven't really watched it all properly. Usually I watch scenes so many times I could practically recite them, but I am still not quite ready to sit down with them yet, as I know I will cry my eyes out and I will be a mess for the rest of the day .

i actually watched them all again at the weekend and it really was so very well acted by everyone involved. I think Didge's line to Dec when she says about Indie "love her, give the best life you can" will always make me tear up because it's just so tragic...and i just found those words so heartfelt.
The aftermath was quite simply brilliant. That scene where Declan is sitting on the hospital floor rocking the pushchair was very powerful. Steve, Miranda, Dec and India - the centre of their world had just died and they were all just completly destroyed. I don't think we will see a more tragic, sad storyline in neighbours for a very, very long time
Yes i agree with everyone else that James has been incredible. You really believe the pain he is experiencing on screen...i shouldn't be suprised really that he has made the aftermath so real...yes it's unique because as everyone says you don't get a character normally showing this level of emotion - but then again Didge/Dec were unique
