DECLAN’S P.O.V
Mum was devastated, I could tell even if she wasn’t letting on while I was there, I knew once I had left she would burst into tears and I knew I couldn’t do anything about it, so I left quickly in order for her to be able to deal with my news.
Today I will be moving out, not very far…actually not at all, just next door so that I could be with my girlfriend, my pregnant girlfriend!
I remember when she told me I was going to be a dad, I was in shock for a few days, I still am, but I did some pretty stupid things, I hurt her, I didn’t mean to, so now I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to her.
She knows that I love her with all my heart and I want to be with her during this pregnancy as much as possible. I explained all this to Miranda who finally agreed to let me stay there and I wandered home again to pack my stuff up. Miranda and Bridget went out today to buy a double bed, our double bed, I don’t think that the novelty of that thought will ever wear off.
So here I am, packing up every possession I own, I took down various posters of cars that I had on my wall and the picture of Oliver and me when I had just turned seventeen in front of the car he’d bought me for my birthday. I looked around my wall and found another picture of me and Bridget we had taken just after Marco’s funeral, Carmella had warned us that day to never waste a moment together, I decided that I would spend every moment I could with Bridget upon hearing her words.
Mum came in a little while later rubbing her arm, she told me that Simmo had finally decided to let Bridget come back to school I grinned then hugged her.
“So your packing up to go to Bridget’s” she said obviously trying to keep the hurt out of her voice.
I looked at her concerned and she said “Don’t!, lets just get the packing over and done with”.
I nodded and said “Okay”.
We had fun packing everything up, mum ooing and ahhing over various bits of clothing that she pulled out of my draw to pack.
“Remember when I bought you this Dec?” She asked holding up a top that said ‘Sydney Australia’ on it.
“Not really” I told her putting some of my footy trophies in a box.
“You do too” She hit me on the arm, “I bought you it after you spilt your chocolate milkshake over your top, that week I took you to Sydney!”.
“Mum I don’t remember that” I told her, “And anyway I’m not that clumsy”.
I’d spoken too soon, I got up then to go across the room to get some of my books when I tripped over the box and cut my leg.
Mum rolled around the room in laughed and finally gasped out “Not that clumsy!”.
REBECCA’S P.O.V
Far too soon the packing was done and my little boy was moving out of my house, to go live with his girlfriend who was pregnant with their child. I followed him out, joking the whole way as he carried the heavy box of trophies and books he had tripped over and cut his leg on earlier.
We let ourselves into the Parkers house and Declan lead me into Bridget’s room to put his stuff away, a note on the cupboard said that she’d cleared some space for his clothes to go in there, as I was putting them in tears started streaming down my face. Declan saw me crying and came to hug me, he’s such a good kid, he’s going to be a great dad, it’s just hard to accept.
Half an hour later everything was unpacked and we had cleared Bridget’s old single bed out ready for Declan and Bridget’s double bed to fit in its place.
BRIDGET’S P.O.V
I attempted to help mum bring in the double bed but I was pushed away by my boyfriend, I hated being pregnant because everyone treats you like a girl, like you cant do anything for yourself. Rebecca walked out of the door and past me winking at me in the process, Mum left with Rebecca and told us that we should start setting up the bed ourselves.
Declan called up Ringo and Zeke and told them to come over, I did the same with Donna. We then started to try to set up the bed, I’d shown Declan our bed covers, they weren’t too girly and they weren’t too boyish they were in the middle. Our bed setting up didn’t get far when dad walked into the house, he looked so uncomfortable when he saw Declan and me on the bed and he quickly left again.
STEVE’S P.O.V
I could not believe how much my little girl had grown up, I’d told her for ages that she should stop acting like a child and that she needs to grow up one day, I didn’t mean like this, now I had to put up with her sleeping with the ‘bad boy’ every night just because she was now pregnant with his child. I was mentally glad that my bedroom was the furthest away from Bridget’s bedroom so that if and when something happened in that room between them at least I wouldn’t have to hear any of it.
Bridget had asked me to build the bed for them, as if that’s the last thing that I would want to do with my time, if she wants to sleep with the bad boy every night then she can knock up her own bed. That’s when I realised that I was behaving much more like a child then my daughter was so I headed home deciding that I had to now set up the bed for her, and Declan, to make up for acting like such a child.
Bridget saw the bed when I’d just finished building it, she hugged me and for a moment she had gone back to being my little girl, innocent and sweet. I then helped Declan lug the thing into their bedroom and before I had let him leave I sat him down and told him I wasn’t happy about this arrangement but if he does nothing to make me unhappy that I wouldn’t get unhappy with him.
DECLAN’S P.O.V
That night the whole family sat in the lounge room, we watched a couple of movies together but I was itching to get to bed, to try out my new bed with my beautiful girlfriend so I faked a yawn to which Bridget smiled and went to kiss her parents goodnight.
I had already headed into the bedroom and by the time she was back I was in bed smiling at her.
BRIDGET’S P.O.V
“Stop watching me” I scolded my boyfriend as I got changed into my own pyjamas.
Declan smirked then closed his eyes “Happy?”.
“Yep” I finished getting changed then climbed into bed next to him, he put his arm around me and whispered…
“Why don’t we try this bed out?”.
I started giggling as he began kissing me, Dad came into the room and saw our tight embrace and for a split second I think Declan was still kissing me. Dad’s face paled as he said “You forgot your phone”.
“Dad the reason it was out there was because I had it on charge” I shook my head knowing he’d just wanted to check up on me and make sure that me and Declan weren’t doing anything.
“Oh right..well goodnight you two” Dad left and Declan sighed.
“You’re dad isn’t happy with this at all is he?” Declan asked.
“No he’s not, I don’t care, there’s no way he can stop any of this now anyway, I’m pregnant so it’s fairly obvious what we are going to get up to tonight” I said.
Declan looked at me seductively “Oh Miss Parker could you clarify what we are going to do tonight with me?”.
I smiled and started kissing him.
*Just an Idea i came up with when i was watching the episode where Declan moves out...i realised it wasnt really played out very well and some other episodes are the same so i decided to write their thoughts and feelings of defining moments*
