The next morning Declan had forced her out of bed early, "We have to get there early so that we can have as much time as possible!" He'd told her as she stumbled out of the doonaless bed, Declan had thrown it off himself in the morning and on the floor which left Bridget cold and irritable.
"Declan..." Bridget groaned, "In..I mean tadpole says no!" she put her hand over her belly.
"I'm packing some food for you" He called from the hallway he was now embarking whilst completely ignoring her complaints, "What do you want?".
Bridget's stomach rumbled at the thought of food so she got up and followed him through to the kitchen, "Those potato chips, the salt and vinegar ones, that block of chocolate from your stash and a bottle of lemonade" She listed off things.
"That bag is huge!" He held up a family sized bag of chips.
"Well that's your fault for knocking me up and getting me out of bed early!" She snapped playfully at him before loading 5 weetbix into her bowl and drowning them in milk.
"What did they do to deserve that?" Declan asked as he put bread in the toaster.
"Would you rather drown or be eaten alive?" Bridget asked him.
Declan shrugged, "Doesnt matter i'd be dead".
"Not when your being eaten alive you wouldnt" Didge told him.
"Fine drowned, but look those poor weetbix" He tried to put her off her food.
"Shut up" She said as she scoffed the whole bowl down within a minute, "Your daughter is hungry so i'm feeding her".
"You mean my son" Declan reminded her.
'no i really dont' Bridget thought placing her hand protectively over India.
Declan smiled and started started putting vegemite on his toast.
"Please dont put that much on, i dont want to kiss mr vegemite breath all day" She told him.
"You dont HAVE to kiss me you know Mrs Napier" He told her emphasizing the 'Mrs Napier' part.
"Okay Mr Napier, your on, lets not kiss for the rest of the day!" She told him.
"Fine Mrs Napier if thats the way you want to be!" Declan bit into his toast so his next sentence was muffled by both that and Steve coming in and asking them if they're okay.
"Sure dad we're leaving soon" Bridget grinned at him before Donna, Ringo, Sunny and Zeke all piled through the front door.
"Ready for the off?" Ringo asked.
"As soon as Mrs Napier gives me a kiss" Declan smiled at his wife.
"In your dreams" Bridget walked passed everyone and into the bedroom where she and Declan had their bags, she decided to write a quick note in the diary before placing it safely in her backpack.
"I cant wait to meet you India, one more day" She wrote.

India read the latest message from her mother and tried desperately to remember her mothers arms around her, she knew that she never could but she wished she did.
"Indy" Declan came in.
India quickly shoved the diary under her doona, "Come in dad, doors open, no need to knock!".
Declan was taken aback by his daughters attitude, "Was school bad today?".
India shook her head, "No school was good, made some friends".
Declan nodded, "Can you come help with dinner, do you cook corned beef in a pot or the oven?".
India shook her head and laughed, "Dad i'd love to see you eat oven baked corned beef!".
As she followed him out she wondered how he'd managed to feed her until she was old enough to cook her own meals, she decided that she didn't know.
"Can you peel those spuds?" She asked him as she put the corned beef on, "This is going to take at least 3 hours you know".
Declan looked at his watch, "We're not going to have dinner til 9 then".
India shrugged, "I'm not hungry" She headed back upstairs, "Dad those spuds just need to be boiled but dont mash them!".
"Yes mum" He called up after her.
India stared at the diary again, she had no idea what to reply to her mothers latest message, she pushed the diary back into her bedside table and went onto her laptop to go on Msn.
Meanwhile 16 years previously.
India was coming, Bridget knew it, she'd wished she had have asked her daughter if there had been complications with her birth but she guessed there wasnt, she knew that India was still living 16 years later, with Declan, like a family, although she wasnt there she knew that her daughter was safe and happy.
"Dec" Didge said as he ran passed.
He looked over concerned but she didnt want him to worry considering he still needed to go find Sunny.
"Be careful" She told him.
"Are you okay?" He asked looking concerned.
Bridget nodded.
"You sure?" He asked.
"Yep you go" She told him as he kissed her on the head.
"We'll be back before you know it!" He told her as he wandered out of the tent.
Bridget never felt so alone in her life, she knew that India would be fine but she still worried, worried about how long Declan took to get back, she knew that if he missed his daughters birth he'd never forgive himself so she knew that he'd be back in time.
She got up and started pacing, "Let her rip take a tip for we'll win the premiership we are the boys from Erinsborough" She sung to her belly to calm herself down, "If you tell anyone i'm singing this at a festival your toast you got that?" She told India knowing that she never could because she didnt remember who her mother was in the first place.
Elle ran in and found Didge sitting, Didge told her about going into labour and Elle tried hard to help but failed every time.
"I just want Declan" She said starting to panic some time later when the ambulance officer came.
Hours later Bridget had given birth to a baby girl, "Indy" She muttered, Declan turned to her confused and she shrugged, he must have put it down to the fact that she'd just given birth and was probably not thinking straight.
"Can i hold her?" Bridget asked.
"She's still floppy and she's not pinking up" She told them as India cried from her arms.
Bridget then sent Declan with her in the ambulance and prayed desperately that India would be okay despite knowing that she was going to be.

'I need to be with India' Bridget thought as they wheeled her into hospital, "I DONT WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR I WANT TO SEE MY BABY!" she yelled at the staff as they told her to get her blood pressure checked out.
"Hey" Declan ran over when he spotted her.
"Where's tadpole have you seen her!" Bridget was surprised that she didnt call her daughter India.
"She's in the intensive care unit" Declan told her.
"Well i want to see her now!" Bridget yelled at the staff.
"Hey get checked out i'll be with you soon" Declan kissed her and they wheeled her into the hospital room where they began conducting tests on her.
Sixteen years later India sat wondering whether her mother had given birth to her yet, she felt weird to be wondering that but she knew that Bridget was due any time, she decided to go down and ask her dad what it was like.
"Dad..." She wandered into the study where Declan was online chatting with his own friends.
Declan turned around, "Yep?" he asked.
India came and sat down, "Who are you chatting with?".
"Just some friends" Declan told her locking and closing the laptop.
"Who?" India asked.
"Noone Indy, what do you want?" Declan looked irritated.
India looked at her father concerned, "I just wanted to ask you stuff about mum but if your busy it's okay".
Declan felt terrible then, he'd been so harsh on India when she walked in because he didnt want her to see that he'd met another woman, and then she comes in and talks about his wife, love of his life, mother of his daughter that he'd lost not long after gaining his first and only child.
"What did you want to know Indy?" He asked her.
"When i was born.." India started.
Declan looked at his hands, the wedding ring still remained on his left finger and thats where it'd stay for the rest of his life. He twisted nervously at the ring trying to will Bridget to come back and help him with these questions.
"I was more scared then i've ever been in my life" He sighed, "I couldnt loose you".
"You didnt dad" India told him.
"Yes but..you were so small, you weren't breathing for ages, you weren't born in the ideal location either!" He told her.
"Yes but i came out alright didnt i?" She smiled.
Declan chuckled, "Yep as alright as you can get i guess" He teased her.
India punched him, "But seriously dad, what was it like? how was mum?".
"Your mother, she was so brave through it, she always was, the worst thing for her was not being able to hold you until a day after you were born" he told her.
"Really? i always thought you both got to hold me at the hospital?" She said, "I never knew that mum didnt hold me then!".
"Your mother was devastated about that, but as soon as you came out of intensive care she was so happy, i could barely pry you from her arms!" He chuckled, "Only when your mum got tired arms, then i got to hold you for the first time".
"Do you have any photos?" India asked.
"Havent i shown you them?" Declan asked, "Their on my facebook?!".
"I dont have you added on facebook remember dad, i cant have my father prying into my personal life" she poked her tongue out.
"Dont worry Chloe already tells me everything!" He grinned mischievously at her.
"I'd kill her if she did!" India told him, "So she wouldnt dare!".
'Neither would i if i was Chloe' Declan thought as he clicked into the photos.
"Mum looks so happy dad" India noted, "She's grinning like mad!".
"It was the happiest day of both of our lives!" Declan told her.
"Mum's wedding ring is so beautiful!" India spotted it, "Do you still have it?".
Declan nodded, "It's up in my room".
"Can i see it?" India asked.
Declan nodded again, "I want you to have it, when your old enough to get married that is".
India grinned, "I'd like that Dad" Then a pang of guilt hit her as she remembered that she hadnt told her dad about the communication through the diary.
"Come on i'll show you the ring" He told her.
"Who's Jen" India asked as a conversation popped up.
"Noone" Declan told her.
"I want to know dad" India told him.
Declan sat down and heaved a sigh, "She's kinda sorta my girlfriend Indy".
India's eyes bulged out of her head and she said nothing before walking off, "I dont want to hear about her again dad".
Declan knew that she'd react this badly so he didnt want to tell her but he'd also hoped that India may actually accept this new woman in as a mother figure.
"Where's the ring?" India yelled down as she wrote in the diary, "Mum, you cant die! Dad's got a girlfriend, i dont want him to have a girlfriend i just want you!"

"Mum you cant die" Bridget felt a shiver go down her spine as she read those words over and over whilst also holding her newborn baby girl.
She looked at India, "I wont die sweetie, i'll stay here as long as you need me".
"Hey" Declan wandered in with a sandwich for Bridget, "How's my little one?".
Bridget handed India to him and pushed the diary back into her hospital bag before grabbing the sandwich, "She's great, but i think we should give her a name instead of referring to her as "My little one" all the time" Bridget told him.
Declan shrugged, "I dunno, we cant agree on anything, i'm sure it'll come to us" He said.
'It's India!' Bridget thought irritated, 'when do they agree on her name!'.
"Well you get discharged today!" Declan grinned, "They just want to do one more check up on her and you're both coming home with me" He looked down at India, "Wouldnt you like that beautiful, to come home with mummy and daddy?".
Bridget grinned, "What's the house like?".
Declan looked guiltily at her, "Well i'm going to have to go clean our room a bit" He put India in her cot, "I'll be back later to pick you up".
Bridget nodded before finishing her sandwich, "Well Indy, that's daddy, you'll get to know him soon enough".
India looked over at her mother before bursting into tears, Bridget wandered over there, "It's okay daddy's not that scary is he?".
India calmed down once again when she was in her mothers arms.
Meanwhile 16 years later..
India had just woken up from a dream that involved Bridget holding her as a baby, she had no idea where she'd gotten this from but she checked the diary in case of a message from her mother but there was nothing there, she decided to write a little extra entry under the last.
"Mum dont go to Oakey, stay here with dad, i dont want you to die, so dont go please!" she wrote.

Bridget looked at the diary entry the night that they came home from the hospital with India, she barely had any time to do anything else but feed and change India that day. Declan had been a great help though, Bridget had no idea how single mum's and dad's did it, then a pang hit her when she realized that if she went to Oakey with her parents Declan would be left a single dad.
The next morning the Oakey conversation popped up for the first time.
"Hey Didge, I know this is probably the last thing on your mind after having India but would you like to come to Oakey with me and your father?" Miranda asked her.
Bridget shook her head, "No, let's wait til Indy's a little older".
"Why? the newborn stage is the best stage!" Miranda almost snapped at her.
"What with all the crying and nappy changes, yeah India will be so interesting for nan and pop" Bridget snapped back.
Miranda sighed, "Okay then we wont go to Oakey, i just thought that you'd like to share your daughter with your family".
"Yeah well they can wait" Bridget picked up India from the change table and placed her in the pram, "Declan and I are going to go for a walk".
"Since when?" Declan wandered in and peeped into the pram.
"Since now" Bridget took his hand and pulled him out the door.
"Why dont you want to go to Oakey?" Declan asked as they walked to Charlies.
"Because I dont want to take India away from the place she know's so quickly" Bridget snapped at him, "Why does everyone care so much, i dont want to go is that too hard for everyone to understand!".
Declan stopped and looked at her, "What's wrong?".
"Nothing i just dont want to go Declan!" Bridget yelled at him. "
16 years later.
India was dreaming, but this wasnt your average dream, she dreamt all these memories of her mother, right up til she was 9 years old, then there was no more, grief hit her in this dream as she reminisced her mothers passing, she died in childbirth, India's baby sister was born, Bridget died, Declan was hit with the worst loss in his life all over again.
Declan woke up and went to get his three girls up, no mother meant that he had to be mum and dad to all three of them, Anna who was born that day that Bridget died was now 7 years old and Charlotte is was now 11 was a real daddies girl and India, she's never fully recovered from her mothers death, she misses her everyday just like her dad, the other two girls didnt really know her.
India rolled over and woke up and realized what had happened, that by her mother not going to Oakey it changed the future, India looked in her bedside table and was relieved to find her mother's diary in there still there was a question asking.
"Did it work? am i alive?".
Tears threatened India's eyes as she wrote, "No you died in childbirth, you were having my sister Anna 8 months ago".

Bridgets eyes scanned these words in shock "Childbirth?!" she said out loud wondering where to go from there, she couldnt purposely not have her daughter because she didnt want to die.
Bridget's eyes moved over to India who was lying in her arms, "I couldnt do that" She said out loud "i couldn't stop my daughter from living".
Just at that point Declan walked in and threw the door open, "Aww look at my girls!".
Bridget looked up shocked but grinned at the same time, "How was work?".
Declan shrugged, "Work was work, now how's my little one what did i miss?".
"A few feed's....a poo" Bridget told him.
"NO i missed the poo!" Declan grinned at India.
"I'm sure she'll make it up to you" Bridget smiled at him.
"Yeah i'm sure" Declan made faces at India, "How about we take Indy to the park?".
"Oh i cant i'm miles behind but you go!" Bridget told him pushing her diary away and picking up a text book.
Declan noticed this so he said, "Well get a little bit more behind!".
Bridget shrugged.
"Just think you need a break" Declan told her.
"I sorta said i'd help Kate with some physics" Didge said nervously.
"You're helping Kate?" Declan asked.
"Well she's got a lot on her plate" Didge sighed knowing that he'd act up about this because he knew that she wasnt going to Oakey anymore.
"You are unbelievable!" Declan had to stop himself from yelling because of his infant daughter being in the room.
"Unbelievably gorgeous" Bridget tried to lighten the mood.
Declan felt like laughing, "Yeah, well how about you give Kate a call, tell her your studying in the park, you need some fresh air" He took India from her arms then handed her the phone.
Bridget made the phone call as quickly as possible so that she could get her diary out whilst Declan was in the other room changing India's nappy.
"India, Is it Kate that your dad is dating? And sorry sweetheart but i dont know if i could ever stop your sister from being born because I couldnt just kill one of my children" she wrote under India's words.
Sixteen years later India saw this writing appear on the page and sighed, she knew that she had to ask her dad sooner or later why her mum died in childbirth but she didnt want to cause the hassle over it.
"Indy can you look after Anna for a while?" Declan popped his head in the door, "I'm taking Charlotte to the doctors".
"What's wrong with her?" India asked as Anna came in and sat on her bed.
"She's still got a high temperature" He said, "I'll be back later".
"Dad wait" India said.
"Yeah?" Declan turned around.
India felt a bit weird as if this wasnt the right time to ask about her mothers death so she shrugged, "I'll ask you later".
Declan nodded before calling for Charlotte to come with him.
India decided to take Anna out to Chloe's house next door, she needed to tell someone about this diary, she needed to work out why this was happening to her.
India took the diary and put it in her pocket before going taking Anna's hand and leading her next door.
"Anna Chlo and I have to talk about some stuff but you can go play with your cousins if you want" India told her, Anna didnt need telling twice as she ran over to her cousins room.
"What's up?" Chloe asked as they sat on her bed, king sized bed, in a room laden with pink coloured things, everything was pink, even her laptop and desk were pink.
India sighed and opened the diary and pushed it to Chloe.
"So you've been having a conversation with yourself?" Chloe looked at India weirdly.
India shook her head "It's my mum".
Chloe looked at her and shook her head, "Your mum died 7 years ago Indy".
"That's exactly it though, she was meant to die 15 years ago but we changed the future" India told her.
Chloe looked at India, "Bull stop making up stories Indy your too old!".
India looked at her, "I'm not making this up, i'll prove it to you! write in the diary".
Chloe looked unsure, "No your dad will kill me".
"Just do it Chloe" India told her.
Chloe picked up her pen (another pink item) and wrote, "Chloe" on it.
Seconds later words appeared on the page under the writing, "Chloe as in Declan's niece?".
Chloe looked over at India wide eyed, "You have to show Declan this".
India shook her head, "He'll just stuff it up! I want to bring mum back on my own!".
Chloe looked at her as if what she was suggesting was the most disgusting thing that anyone has ever said, "Chloe your dad was married to her he'd want to know".
"No Chloe and if you tell your dad or mum or my dad or anyone else i'll tell Oliver about you sleeping with Mark last year!" India snapped at her.
"Keep your voice down" Chloe glared at her, "Fine but dont say i didnt warn you!".
India walked out of Chloe's huge bedroom and into Emma's to collect Anna, Emma's bedroom was equally pink and her bed was slightly smaller then Chloes as it was a Queen sized bed.
India had asked Declan for a double bed last year but for some reason he went really red and muttered no before walking off.
Anna and India got home and this is when India took notice of the last piece of writing from her mum, "Is it Kate?"
"No mum, Kate moved away before christmas, something about Harry, their dad's step-cousins anyway now so that would be gross, Chloe thinks i should tell dad about this but i told her no... and tonight i'm going to ask dad how you died in childbirth, i'll tell you tonight what he said".

"Go to bed Charlotte!" Dad yelled from the lounge room, i could hear my sister creeping around upstairs and I had no idea what she and Anna were plotting in their bedroom but it wouldnt be good.
"Hi Dad" I came in and sat with him.
Dad looked at me, "Have you done your homework?".
I frowned, "Yes father-dearest".
Dad smiled then put his arm around me, "I like it when it's just the two of us".
I laid my head on his shoulder, "You really miss her dont you?".
Dad shrugged, "At night i guess, I hate sleeping alone, i mean since i was 18 i wasnt alone every night, i guess i took it all for granted".
I screwed up my face, "Dad eww".
He shook his head, "No not that, just being near someone when your falling asleep, that's what i miss".
I looked at him, "Dad what happened to mum?".
He looked at me, "I dont want to talk about it" i could hear the hurt in his voice.
"Dad please i just want to know what happened to my mother" I tried to convince him.
"India i said i dont want to talk about it!" He snapped before getting up, "I'm tired, it's 10 o'clock so bedtime".
"I'm much too old for a bedtime" I muttered under my breath hoping he wouldnt notice.
"What was that?" He snapped.
"Nothing dad, goodnight" I stormed off to my bedroom but instead of going to bed I pulled out mum's diary again and wrote...
"Mum, dad's not opening up about it, you'll have to wait, i mean it's still ages until you have Anna right?".
But this time her mother woke up in a different time, she was once again pregnant and the memories took a while to come back to her.
She was now a mother to a 9 year old, and a 4 year old and what looks to be about 8 and a half months pregnant again.
She looked in the diary and saw India's writing and quickly wrote back panicked.
"I'm abut 8 and a half months pregnant with Anna now"
When India saw this her jaw dropped, 'i have to get the answer out of dad!' she thought.
That night she spent the entire night speculating how to change her dad's mind about telling her about her mothers death although none of her plans seemed right until she finally stumbled on the last plan.
