Yeah it was from Kate she was saying that Donna won't ask for help with her uni work and that is what Declan did with year 12 after Bridget died

Not really Decget propperly related but needed to get some Neighbours related bitching out. They have totally ruined the characters of Declan and Rebecca. They've made Rebecca look to be a total cow and bitch to Paul - I haven't watched with much interest so I really don't have much to support why I feel this but I just think they went way over the top. Rebecca and Paul were always a mis-matched couple but after the "who pushed Paul off the balcony" storyline (...it was Rebecca who did that yes? I stopped watching around then) it lost all respect from me. The 'old' Rebecca would never have done that, I actually feel bad for Paul now (as much as you can feel bad for a fictional character) but still feel bad for Jane Hall for having such a dodgey storyline  Her going off with Michael is just stupid argh. And Declan...well ever since they got iDec I hadn't really gave a poo. But more so lately. If anyone has been watching Aus pace (not sure if any of us actually watch this crap any more) Dec/India/Rebecca were homeless and Declan told Rebecca to take India and he'll live in a hotel. Fair enough for Dad to want the best for his daughter but seriously old Dec would have wanted to stay with his daughter. They've made Declan super selfish. Thank god Dec/India/Rebecca are leaving soon. On a brighter note OLIVER IS BACK WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO next week I believe. Or the week after. Either way I love Carm and Oliver and the relationship between James and David was the cutest brother relationship so will be interesting to see how it feels with iDec... Either way all Decget connections to the show will soon be cut. |

Well...I have to say that I don't really blame Rebecca for pushing Paul. She didn't give him a hard push and he stumbled back VERY far and that barrier was incredibly high, and he'd been threatening Declan so she did it in blind anger. I'm surprised people are more critical of her doing something in hot blood than they are of Paul pretty much abusing her and threatening her child and grandchild! And before anyone says that she should have confessed, she wanted to, but Paul forced her not to by telling her that if she did he would tell the police that Declan did it and put him in prison, so he MADE her stay married him. Am I the only one who thinks that is messed up, psychological abuse?

See had I continued watching it Sophie, I'd understant all that but I stopped watching around that time because I thought it was a complete rubbish storyline (just my opinion). Just before all that happened, I thought Rebecca and Paul were fine together, as good as any coupling with Paul would ever be. The way Rebecca acted is totally inline with the way Paul treated her especially with the stuff about the blackmail and all that but it just didn't seem like the 'old' Rebecca that I loved.
When she and Declan first came to Erinsborough, they were on the run and had been living a life that they wanted safety from. Now they are leaving Erinsborough with the life that had made them come there in the first place...ironic?

It is, but I'm glad they split up Rebecca and Paul. I always thought that relationship sent out a very bad message seeing as he cheated on her twice and I would have thought that Rebecca, a strong and independent woman, would know that you could never change anyone. It's sad that they're running away though.
