I've got to admit that earlier today I started to doubt if the "rumour" that he's leaving in April is actually true. I just thought that even if he does this Army recruitment thing, he wouldn't necessarily have to have left Neighbours by that point. Especially as he's still filming now whilst he's been training pretty heavily from the looks of things. So perhaps he'll carry on filming even whilst he goes through the selection process - plus it may take a few months to get accepted into the army or whatever it is he wants to join.

Plus, what if he doesn't get in? Would he want to quit the show given it's not certain he'll even get through the selection process. I know, I shouldn't doubt it, but how bad will it be if we are all counting on him leaving in April, and then it turns out he's not. I'll be gutted!

But then I remembered that it was around this sort of time last year (well late 2008) that there were rumours of James quitting because he'd had enough. Here's the TV Week snippet:-

"I'm happy to put paid to one rumour that was doing the rounds last week. I'd heard from a very good source that James Sorensen, who plays Declan on Neighbours, had decided to ditch acting and was leaving the show. Luckily for fans, it seems James had a change of heart and plans to stick around on Ramsay Street."

Now if only that had been true! It must've been around this time they were renewing their contracts, and Eloise must've refused too, and maybe James was close to not wanting to renew either. But in the end decided to stay on. How different the Decget ending could have been if they'd both decided to leave then

But I'm going to keep faith that in perhaps as little as a month we'll have official confirmation that James is finishing filming in April.

Well I have complete faith in my source...but I guess there is always a chance he could change his mind .

However I doubt he will. He looks bored already...and most characters don't stay much past 3 years do they.

But I do see where you are coming from. I'll be devestated if he doesn't go. I guess until there is official confirmation anything can happen .

I am still 99% confident that he will be waving goodbye.

i think he's going. He strikes me as quite an ambitious type and i can't think he would be challenged being in neighbours anymore. I probably think thats why they are rushing this thing with Kate aswell

and i think you would have to sign on for a minimum of another year and he wouldn't be able to if he wanted to join the special forces even if he doesn't get in. And i would think you would have to give the neighbours team quite a bit of notice for storylines etc

Yeah, I see what you mean about the Neighbours team needing to know script wise in advance what James was planning. But given I reckon they'd do anything to keep him on, not least with Sam leaving soon, that they'd probably be open to working around it for as long as possible. Wouldn't surprise me if they give him the option of coming back, and so doubt we'll see a permenant departure written. Only bit of totty left on that show for the tweens (and us slightly older admirers!)

In fact, they're loosing all the fitties at the moment, what with Brett having just left, and Sam and possibly Scott leaving soon. And not forgetting the ever so gorgeous Steve Bastoni - God I miss him so, so much

ETA: Thought I'd just add, personally I don't regard Sam C as a fittie, not my type, but I realise alot of other ppl do. Having a huge crush on one younger guy (who even worse is playing a teen) is quite enough!

I feel mean, but yeh... I prefer things to go out with a bang more than fizzle out. I think he's still doing a fantastic job but I don't want to end up getting sick of the sight of him. It happens with the best of characters...

Geo I want him to stay too, James makes Declan so likeable, it's seriously probably the only reason I watch the show. When he goes I think I'll just stop watching, because knowing neighbours they'll start setting up Kate and someone else up, probably Zeke haha before James has even left. But then, I want James to go and do whatever he wants to in life, obviously he's getting a bit bored with acting and wants a change in life. And as already has been mentioned it would mean no more Kaclan.

Don't get me wrong. Dec is my favourite character by a country mile and I will be very sad when he goes...but I just cannot watch him with her. It makes me nauseaous and the thought of them having a long term future...one decget should have had together...gives me the creeps.

So unfortunately James leaving is the best outcome in my eyes.

Not that i didnt believe Suse in the first place but for those who have doubts that he's leaving i think that the official has cleared it up...Suse said (I think?) that he's possibly leaving in the kacklen thread and TvFan edited it out because it was a "spoiler".

Just wait until someone (not us) posts 'James is leaving' and we'll all be like meh old news... And theyll think theyre so cool because they thought we found out first...hahaI'm in a moofy mood. Haven't had any updates on the training front, either he's having a break or they're onto us.

Which I found odd. I just said I was speculating he was leaving. Not that he was. Now she has editted it it's made it quite obvious that it's true. Anyone can speculate . I never said it was fact.

I just want to shut those kaclan ites up. You can tell they only really support it because she's not Didge and they like an argument.
