Yeah that was the bit I picked up on too.
Here's the whole article, i put it up on Nfans.com too:
R.I.P Bridget
Ramsay Street weeps as Declan loses the mother of his newborn child...
In a cruel twist of fate, new mum Bridget Parker walks away from a serious car accident this week only to die hours later as a result of internal injuries.
“It takes a long time for Bridget to be rescued, so she’s in a really bad way when she’s admitted to hospital,” says James Sorensen, who plays Bridget’s new husband Declan Napier. “She has internal bleeding and the doctors have no choice but to operate right away.”
Bridget’s parents, Steve and Miranda – who, along with baby India, survived the crash – take Declan’s side as the surgery gets underway. Meanwhile Bridget embarks on a spiritual journey...
“Bridget dreams about her life, which turns out to be her way of letting go,” shares James. “She comes round from the operation and everyone thinks the worst is over. But she has a premonition of what’s going to happen – and it isn’t going to be happy ever after.”
In the wake of Bridget’s tragic passing, Declan’s mum, Rebecca, returns to Erinsborough to be at her heartbroken son’s side. But no one is able to ease his grief and anger, forcing Miranda and Steve to make a hard choice. Declan isn’t coping, so Steve and Miranda decide to move back to their hometown of Oakey – taking the baby with them,” reveals James. “Declan’s so upset that he’s prepared to go along with the idea. But Rebecca jumps in and says they can’t do that, because Declan needs his daughter more than ever. It escalates into a huge row.”
James is keeping quiet about India’s fate, but he confirms that the Parkers leave straight after Bridget’s emotional funeral. And James admits to being teary-eyed when he said goodbye to co-star Eloise Mignon, who plays Bridget.
“I was devastated, as Eloise and I have been through so many things together, he admits. “Pretty much all my best work on the show so far has involved her. It really won’t be the same without Eloise.
Parting words...
After two years in the show, Eloise decided to quit Neighbours to go to university and is more than pleased with the way the soap writers handled her exit.
“I got the soap hat-trick,” she smiles. “Bridget got married, had a baby and then died. I got a good scope in terms of drama.”
And the two from All about Soap:
Dead End!
Ramsay Street mourns as Bridget dies...
Brave new mum Bridget proves she’s made of strong stuff when she manages to keep baby India safe through a car crash and a night in the Aussie bush. But even as Didge and India are rescued, the danger isn’t over...
After the Parkers’ terrifying car crash, Steve tries to track down his daughter and granddaughter who have been missing all night. His efforts pay off when he discovers Didge huddled against a tree, cradling her little one. But are they going to be okay?
Overwhelmed with relief to see her dad, Bridget and her tiny tot are rushed to hospital, where she has a life saving operation. But devastated hubby Declan is told that Bridget isn’t out of danger yet – she’s got internal injuries and things are still looking bleak.
Soon, though, Bridget opens her eyes – she’s alive! But as she makes Declan promise to look after India if anything happens to her, it seems Bridget knows something’s up. Has she had a premonition of her future?
Sadly, Bridget’s worst fears are realised when the clock ticks towards midday and she closes her eyes for the very last time...
How will devastated Dec cope without his beloved Bridget? And how will the rest of Ramsay Street deal with the death of someone so young?
What happens next?
Declan faces life as a single dad – but will he cope?
Lost Love!
James Sorensen tells us what it was like for Declan to lose his other half...
How are Bridget and Declan after the excitement of the wedding and India’s birth?
They’re very much in love but under an amazing amount of stress, so Bridget goes off to Oakey for a rest with her family and the baby.
But then tragedy strikes!
Declan calls Steve who tells him what’s happened – there’s been a car crash and Bridget and India are missing.
So, does he go and join the search?
Well, Steve tells Dec to go to the hospital, but Declan wants to help. The emergency services find Bridget the next day.
How serious is her condition?
She’s been out in the Aussie bush all night – that’s not good. Declan’s kept in the dark over how serious her condition is. His world is falling apart – his wife is pale and dying, and his baby’s in intensive care.
Then poor Bridget dies...
Declan’s lost everything. I’ve never experienced loss myself, so it was hard to make it look convincing. It’s like a punch in the stomach – so much pain, loss and anger.
Does he seek comfort from his daughter, India, though?
No, he rejects her. Every time he looks at India he sees Bridget and the pain comes back. Steve and Miranda decide to move away and want to take India with them.
But surely Declan won’t let that happen, though?
He has a chat with Libby, and she makes him see he has to give India the best life he can. He promised Bridget he’d keep India safe, and he can’t break his last promise – he has to be the best dad that he can be.
So he’ll be a single father?
It will be a struggle. He’s young, so juggling life with caring for a baby will be tough.
Doesn’t he find a bond with Kate Ramsay?
They are a shoulder to cry on for each other. A lovely friendship comes out of it as they both understand what the other one is going through. It won’t blossom into anything more at the moment – it’ll take Declan a very long time to find romance again.
Teamwork!
Bridget and Declan have been one of the soap’s most popular couples – and the audience’s reaction has shown that: “We made a lot of people cry!” admits James. “It’s been a powerful time. I miss Eloise (Mignon, who played Bridget) – she was my partner in crime!”

Great articles! Thanks so much for posting ;D
Lovely things he said about Eloise too, bless him. I won't go into my theories of their "friendship", as I'm sure everyone is already well of aware of them!
Slightly worried about his words about Declan's friendship with Kate and how it won't be turning into anything more "for the moment." Guess we all know what's coming, so let's hope he's sincere about it being a very long time before any romance is on the cards for Dec.

Amazing quote haul there! I read Inside Soap at the station today after literally 24 hours train and ferry travel and more to go and I did not expect anything good at all... then I saw that and I was like spring in my step. And then that other bit. Aww. I'm going to ignore the other stuff about Kate, we got some good little mentions at least. Yay yay yay.

Making a lot of people cry is an understatement! I bawled my eyes out and I think I might do so again and watch those episodes again next week to relive the feelings that the UK-ers are feeling. I'm so glad that James said that El was his partner in crime I miss both of them together so much

Oh Wow! He misses her and she was his"parter in crime"..mmmm...I'll be using that ;D. I am so glad they realize just how much we love them. Thank you so much for posting that, and yes I'll be ignoring the Kate stuff too...sounds like James isn't too keen on him moving on too quickly at all. ETA - Oh and this bit...I love this bit - And James admits to being teary-eyed when he said goodbye to co-star Eloise Mignon, who plays Bridget. “I was devastated, as Eloise and I have been through so many things together", he admits. “Pretty much all my best work on the show so far has involved her. It really won’t be the same without Eloise." Gosh I wish he would just leave and go and team up with her in something else .
