Eloise (and Pippa) in City Homicide

PIPPA Black and Eloise Mignon have left super-suburban Ramsay St for the CBD's murderous alleys.

The former Neighbours stars are to appear in Channel 7's City Homicide.

Black, 26, will play Emily Rigby, a new mum dragged into a murder investigation.

She wrapped up her three-year role as Lucinda "Elle" Robinson on Neighbours two weeks ago.

"There's more of a sense of reality to this character," Black said. "She has just given birth and she is related to . . . a (murder) suspect."

Mignon, 22, who played pregnant schoolgirl Bridget Parker on Neighbours, will play Layne Pullman, a hardened criminal's stepdaughter.

It's her first TV role since Parker was killed off in July, after three years.

"Layne's definitely very different to Bridget. I was getting sick of playing the teenager thing so it's really nice to play an adult who has a fully formed view of the world," she said.

Black added: "I would hate to be stereotyped. I'm really looking forward to a new cast and crew, and being in a new style of show."

"I want to play a wide range of characters," Mignon said.

The City Homicide scenes they shoot in the next two weeks will air late this year or early next.

Oh yayness! Eloise is looking preeetty sexy in that picture it has to be said. Although I'm getting bad vibes from what she says. If it turns out that they fired her from Neighbours which I don't think they would have but is possible, then, oooh, I'll be mad!

But what does she say to make you think she was fired. I highly doubt it.

Glad to see she has had regular acting roles since she finished up. I will have to keep an eye out for it.

ETA - I am kind of hoping that the girls getting more adult tv roles will push James into trying something different too. Imagine if they were a couple in a more 'adult' time slot. How ace would that be .

Cheers for posting this hannah. It made my day to read it in the paper and I cut it out and put it with my Neighbours clippings as soon as I saw it Eloise looks so pretty and so does Pippa. It frustrates me that they didn't make her more girly before she left because that was the main reason why so many people didn't warm to Didge

i don't think she was fired. Far from it - in fact i think Bower probably begged her to stay but this way she gets to finish her degree and do bit part acting aswell.
and i totally agree with you Suse - James needs to move on to better things and stop playing it safe...it would be so good if one day they were to star in a more adult time slot imagine the chemistry then...

I don't think they fired her - as already said they wouldn't have given her the send off she recieved if that was the case. I was thinking the other day, Eloise probably resumed her degree this year at the start, but part time because people had said she saw her around campus, but she found it too hard to work and do part time so she decided to change to full time study.

I'm glad though that she has (from reports...) gone back to uni whereas other actors who have said they are leaving to go back to school *cough* Caitlin Stasey *cough* haven't actually.

Looking extra gorgeous there... in fact, while obviously Pippa Black is undeniably pretty stunning, I'd actually say Eloise still has that extra bit of jenesaispasquoi that makes Pippa look slightly ordinary in comparison... it might just be because her face is strangely blurred out but still .

Sorry I was just slipping into poncey person talk: it just means literally "an air of 'I don't know what'" in french-. It's what people say when someone has a certain allure about them but it's hard to say what it is. Eg. "He/she has a certain 'jenesaisquoi' that makes them very attractive"

I love Elle and Lucas, nearly as much as Declan and Bridget. But i must admit, Eloise looks much better and sexier then Pippa in those pics.
