BRIDGET'S P.O.V I looked up from the tv show upon seeing the door open slightly then close again.... "Hello?" i called out. "mumumum" I heard but i couldn't work out where it was coming from. "mumumum" I sat up and looked around, i spotted my daughter on the floor chewing on her hand and looking at me. "MUMUMUMUM" she pointed at me. "There you are India! dont run away from daddy!" Declan pretended to look surprised, he looked over at me and winked "has she said it yet?". I grinned and leant over to pick India up, "See i told you she'd say mum before she said dad". "I'll prove you wrong" He came over and sat next to the bed, "Say dadadadad Indy". India looked from her mum to her dad and finally said "mumumumumum". I laughed at Declan's expression, "No India dadadad!". "mumumum". "dadadadad". "mumumum". "DADADADAD!". "MUMUMUMUM!". "I give up, you win!" Declan told me, "I'll just get started on peanut early shall i?" he leant over and put his hand on my belly. "You're not going to beat me!" I told him grinning. "Hey guys!" Oliver came in holding Chloe, Carmella followed behind them. "mumumumum" India said as she chewed on her hand. "Oh is she talking?" Ollie asked us. "Dont ask me that" Declan pouted. "Hello Indy..now you can say Chloe, Chlo-Eeee" Chloe started trying to teach her cousin to say her name. "Oh hello it's my six favourite people!" Rebecca came in to visit us, she brought with her my daily stash of food. "mumumum" India said as Chloe continued to try to teach her to say Chloe. Rebecca turned and grinned at India, "I guess she's talking now?". I nodded and Declan pouted some more. "What's your problem?" Rebecca asked him. "Nothing" Declan said. "She wont say dad" I told Rebecca. "Oh" Rebecca began to laugh.

DECLAN'S P.O.V *7 weeks later* My phone rang in the middle of the night and for a moment i considered ignoring it but when the ringing didnt stop i finally reached over and picked it up. "Hello?" I mumbled thinking at the same time 'this better be good'. "Declan Napier? It's nurse Julie, you need to come to the hospital as soon as possible Bridget's waters broke" Nurse Julie said. My heart skipped a beat "She what!". "We are prepping Bridget for theater, she is going to have a cesarean in about an hour" She said to me. "Shit" I said out loud "Ok i'll just go get my daughter up and take her to mum's and then i'll be up there". "Ok hurry Declan" She said.
BRIDGET'S P.O.V "Is he coming!?" I asked Nurse Julie as soon as she came back through the door. "Yes he's just getting your daughter up and taking her to his mum's" She told me. "Oh i hope he hurries" I clutched my belly as a contraction hit. "Have you been counting the minutes?" Julie asked me. "Yeah i think their about 8 minutes apart now" I told her. "Your husband really needs to hurry" Julie told me. "Settle down peanut" I said to my belly as she kicked out.
REBECCA'S P.O.V I heard hurried knocking on my front door, i wondered who it was but i knew that it'd have to be urgent i put on my dressing gown and ran to the door. Declan was standing there looking worried and he had India with him, she was lying in his arms half asleep and looking irritable. "Dec...what's up?" I asked him. "Bridget...she's having the baby...i have to go" Declan managed to pant out, "Can you look after India?". "Sure you get up to the hospital" I took India out of his arms as he put India's porta cot and nappy bag in the lounge room.
BRIDGET'S P.O.V "Ok Bridget we cant hold off any longer, we're going to have to take you into theater" Julie told me. I nodded with tears in my eyes, Declan was going to miss peanut's birth, he's never going to forgive himself for this. As they wheeled my bed through the hallway Declan ran in. "DEC!" I screamed as he ran to take my hand. "It's ok" He panted, "Let's go have a baby". I grinned at him and together we were lead into theater.

DECLAN’S P.O.V I stood holding my wife’s hand watching as they lifted our tiny daughter out. She was so young looking, red and wrinkled. She kicked her little feet out as she issued a tiny cry, the doctors whisked her straight out of the room before letting us know that we’d had a girl which we both already knew. Then they began stitching Bridget up as we asked them how our daughter was. They wouldn’t say anything clear but they did say that there is an 85% chance that she’d survive which reassured us a bit.
They finally finished stitching her up at 2:30am and she was wheeled into a room from which she demanded to see our daughter, but like with Indy she was turned down but I was told I could go in and see her myself, so I decided to take my phone and take a picture of her to show Bridget.
Our little girl was gorgeous, I could tell from just looking at her now that there was a lot more Bridget in her then there was of me, but that didn’t matter, I was glad that she’d be like her mum. I stroked her little cheek then took a picture of her on my phone before going back to my wife.
Bridget was stoked with the picture and said that she looked like me, but I denied it and we spent a while arguing about it before the nurse came in and asked us if we’d decided on a name yet.
“What do you think?” Bridget asked me. “I dunno I want to put Rebecca in there somewhere” I said to her, “Seeing as India has Miranda in her name”. “Hmmm” Bridget pondered, “I’ve always liked Anna for a girl”. “Anna Rebecca Napier?” I asked her and myself. Bridget nodded smiling, “Yep that’s what we’ll call her”. I smiled and kissed her head, “You’d better get some sleep anyway, I’ll go reserve a place for myself in the waiting room”. “That couch folds out” Nurse Julie told me, “You two both go to sleep, I’ll tell you if anything happens with your baby”. We both nodded, I unfolded the couch and we both went to bed.
REBECCA’S P.O.V “Hey um I’m looking for my daughter-in-law” I said to the front desk. “Their in that room” They said pointing to a room on the left. I hurried in only to find Bridget and Declan both sound asleep on the bed and couch, I went over to Declan and nudged him. “mmmm” He screwed up his face, “Go away…Declan’s sleeping!”. “Dec it’s mum” I told him, “It’s 8am you should get up”. “Schools not til 9 mum” He mumbled. I couldn’t help but laugh at that, and he woke up to me laughing at him. “What, oh god, Anna’s ok isn’t she?” Declan asked me panicked. Tears formed in my eyes, “Is that what she’s called?”. “Is she ok?” Declan asked me. “As far as I know, I haven’t seen her, when was she born?” I asked him. “1:10 this morning, where’s Indy?” He yawned and stretched. “She’s at home still asleep, Miranda’s babysitting her til she wakes up then she’s coming up with her later..Steve should be in soon too” I told him. “I heard my name” Steve walked in grinning, “Hey Dec, congratulations where’s my granddaughter?”. “In the neonatal ward still Steve” Declan said. Bridget started to stir, “Dec…Is she ok?”. “She’s fine” Declan told her, “Or as far as we know, I might go ask”. Bridget nodded and rubbed her eyes as Steve sat on her bed to congratulate her.
MIRANDA’S P.O.V “Hurry up” I mumbled to myself wishing my granddaughter would wake up so that I could go visit her sister and my second granddaughter. I paced the lounge room for the hundredth time since Rebecca left, “Oh please Indy hurry up and wake!”. My prayers seemed to be answered as I heard crying through the baby monitor, I hurried into the spare room where India’s cot was and picked her up. I had to laugh at Declan’s choice for what she slept in last night, she had pink pajama pants on and a top that said “My daddies the coolest!”. I changed her into the little pink jumpsuit that Declan had packed then put a pink coat on her before hurrying to the car.
BRIDGET’S P.O.V I couldn’t remember much from the night before, like obviously I remembered having my baby girl and Declan showing me a picture of her on his phone but the rest was a blur. My belly was still so sore from the c-section I’d had. But I really wanted to see my daughter so I forced Declan to put me in a wheelchair and wheel me into the neonatal unit.
There she was, looking so small and fragile having only been 32 weeks gestation when she was born. She was wearing the smallest nappy I had ever seen and she was asleep with breathing tubes in her tiny nostrils.
I wanted to pick her up and hug her right then and there but I knew in my heart that it’d be weeks before that hug happened, until then I have to keep visiting her here everyday.
We went back into our room to find mum with India, she reached out to me as soon as she saw me but I couldn’t hold her, my belly was way too sore to do that so India had to make do with her dad.
Later that night Declan left with India promising he’d be back tomorrow and he’d stay for the whole day and that we’d go see our little girl again before the day was out. So the three grandparents, and the dad and big sister had left me alone with the thoughts and prayers that my daughter would get better and we’d all be a family one day…hopefully.

BRIDGET’S P.O.V *4 weeks later* “When can I have her?” I asked persistently. “She’s still having trouble with her breathing and we cant risk infection at this early stage” Nurse Julie told me. “That doesn’t answer my question…when can I have her!” I asked again. “Once all those risk have gone down considerably then you can have her, please be greatful for now that she’s here Mrs Napier” Nurse Julie left. “don’t Mrs Napier me!” I said bitterly as Anna turned her little head to look at me. “Hi sweetheart” I grinned at her, “Mummy will get to hold you soon, we just have to be patient”. Anna issued a little cry and I buzzed the nurses back in knowing it was time for her feed. I had to keep expressing milk for my daughter which was a pain but it was helping her get better, she had almost doubled her birth weight now and she was showing signs of being able to come off the respirator which was making me and Declan a little bit excited.
Declan was home now fixing up the nursery for Anna when she comes home, India is with him which worries me because I know Declan and ladders.
“Hey how’s my granddaughter” Mum came in and sat down, “Oh sorry India’s little sister!”. I looked over and found mum with India, “Hey sweetie”. “Declan fell of his ladder” Mum told me. “What is he ok?” I said startled. “He broke his left leg” Mum told me. “Oh damn it Declan” I got instantly angry with him, I already had to deal with one sick person I didn’t need him around me complaining about his leg. “He’s over in the room next to yours if you want to go see him?” Mum asked. “I better” I looked at Anna again, “Seeya sweetie I love you”.
DECLAN’S P.O.V “Ow ow ow ow ow!” I said as they put plaster on my leg. “What were you doing?” Mum asked me. “I was putting the frame up for Anna’s room and India crawled under the ladder and I told her not to and lost my balance. “Oh god you could have landed on India!” Mum exclaimed, “Why didn’t you get me to babysit?!”. “I dunno” I shook my head, “OWWW”. “What have you done!” Bridget walked in. I looked at her innocently, “Sorry”. “Don’t think this is going to win you any sympathy points Dec!” She told me. I made a sad puppy dog face at her, she shook her head.
