5266 SSH is giving Mickey a mini-lecture about who he keeps company with before going off to question Declan. Rebecca is aghast at what her son has gotten up to, explaining to Steve that he's never done anything like this before. “Maybe he's never been caught before,” Didge pipes up. Ned arrives on the scene and wastes no time in being reunited with his son, both hugging the other to death. Ned isn't amused to see Declan and has to be physically restrained but Mickey pipes up to say that Declan is his friend.
5289 Zeke tries to talk to Bridget about footy training, and she shows him her boots, which she has laced with blue and yellow laces. She knows its lame, and Zeke seems uncomfortable. Declan arrives with Rebecca and Paul and Didge tells Zeke to watch his valuables before they go off on a tour around the school.
He spots Declan and they wonder if they should go and say hi, but Bridget says they don't want to get involved with him. They ignore her and go and introduce themselves. Bridget eventually follows and says they've met before, when he forced her eight year old cousin to perform a break and enter. Before she can lay into him further Pepper arrives and tells them all to open their books to chapter seven. Do they ever do any exercise in PE class?
Unfortunately Zeke gets an attack wussiness and says nothing. However, Declan steps in and comments to Justin that jealousy isn't a pretty thing. He's just worried that he'll be shown up by a girl. Bridget tells Declan to shut up, she doesn't need him to fight her battles.
BRIDGET: I'm Bridget Parker. My mum and dad and I just moved down from Sydney. I play footy, no matter what anyone says and I'm really into animals, which is handy, because my dad's a vet… Then it's Declan's turn. DECLAN: Declan Napier, I'm usually overseas, not surprising because my dad's an Asio-spy and my mum's Nicole Kidman's stylist. Nic's a real sweetie. Pepper asks for the truth, and Bridget is doubtful she'll get it. DECLAN: Ever since I can remember my mum and I have been running away from my dad. He's a violent sociopath. Mum's career consists of whatever deadend job she can find in whatever place we wash up in. I recently found out I have an older brother, who I have Zilch in common with. Mum's finally found a guy who doesn't treat her like dirt. Bonus. We might be sticking around here for a while. That's about it. All the while he's been talking right to Bridget, who looks a little embarrassed by the time he finishes.
Declan is sitting alone on a desk when Bridget comes into the classroom. She asks him if he doesn't care what people think. She didn't realise his mum and him had it so rough. Declan tells her that she hates him and he's comfortable with that. She doesn't have to pretend that she cares.
5297 Justin tries to ruffle Bridget's feathers about the footy incident. But Bridget holds her own and taunts him with the nickname “Justine”, so Justin says he'll make her suffer later. Witnessing this, Declan does an about face (he wasn't keen on rock climbing himself) and tells Pep he'll be coming on the excursion after all.
In the hall, Justin is still doing all he can to torment Bridget. She torments “Justine” right back and shoves him for good measure. He shoves her to the floor in return, which immediately springs Declan into action. He barges Justin into some lockers before checking on how Bridget is. But Bridget isn't impressed – she had it covered!
Bridget is still laying into Declan for coming to her rescue. They bicker their way down the hall before Justin butts in. JUSTIN: (to Declan) Oi, it wasn't even your beef! BRIDGET & DECLAN: Shut up, Justine! (The two teens swap an uneasy look with one another) BRIDGET: Why do you care if I get pushed around anyway? DECLAN: (stuck) Superhero tendencies. JUSTIN: (smug) I reckon I know why… BRIDGET & DECLAN: Shut it!
Zeke and Declan are up next, and Bridget just happens to be Declan's rope person. DECLAN: Don't forget to keep your eyes on me the whole time to see how it's done. BRIDGET: You might want to shut the hell up.
Bridget and Ringo are on rope duty down the bottom, keeping an eye on Declan and Zeke scaling the wall. Pep calls time and Zeke sails down with ease, but Dec stays put. Pacey and Joey… ah, Bridget and Declan continue their pattern of picking on one another to mask their bourgeoning Dawson's Creek hormonal urges for one another. Declan keeps mocking Bridget, so she lets go of the rope a fraction to give him a little scare. But all of a sudden the rope slips out of Bridget's hands for real and Declan plunges to the ground with a thud. Racing over to him, Pep yells for someone to call an ambulance while Bridget looks on in horror. Here's hoping he doesn't need a kidney.
5298 Declan opens the door to Bridget who quickly apologizes and is glad that he is okay. However, she doesn't want him to stick up for her with Justin(e) anymore. Declan seems more concerned with Didge's hand and whether or not she got rope burn but she insists that she is doing fine. Didge spots Rebecca at the door so quickly bolts away. Rebecca is now making sense of the situation and knowingly smiles as she shuts the door.
5301 Didge moans about her forthcoming detentions but doesn't get any sympathy from Rachel or Ringo as they head into class. Pepper follows them in, dishing out the results of their recent exam, moaning that they spent too much time revising MySpace instead of the necessary textbooks. Declan comes in late due to being at the funeral and gets some ribbing from the other kids for being dressed in a suit and asks Pepper if he blitzed the test. She hands him the paper and he isn't exactly chuffed at getting an “F” (just like Ringo did). PEPPER: Social health does not mean getting invited to heaps of parties! Ringo replies that it does in some cultures but Pepper just informs him that the resits are Friday. He sits down and the RSK's (Ramsay Street kids) check out who got what (the Kinski's and Didge got “A's”) but Ringo lies that he got a “B” when in fact he failed it and Rachel remarks that if someone failed that ‘easy' exam, how will they cope with the harder ones. Didge offers to help Declan with his revision although she promises that she won't go easy on him just because she almost killed him!
Didge and Declan walk along the corridor chatting aimlessly and he invites her out for a drive in his car. We then cut to outside and Declan showing off his car to her but while he goes on about its spec, Didge just likes the colour of it. Just as they get into the car, Rachel and Zeke run up and remind Declan that he can't drive. He invites her into the car so she can give him a lesson but she refuses because she values her life! Rachel and Zeke depart and Didge gets out and joins them walking home because she doesn't want any more trouble.
5303 Rebecca is trying to comfort Elle about the newspaper report. She confirms that the article doesn't name any names and hopefully it will stay that way. Elle and Rebecca try to think of how the newspaper got this information before they're interrupted by Declan. Rebecca tells Declan to get himself some dinner at the Store while she and Elle continue their catch-up. Declan walks over to talk to Bridget and Rachel who are enjoying a milkshake. They give him the silent treatment which prompts Declan to call Didge a ‘chicken' for not going on a joy ride with him.
Declan is surprised that Bridget has decided to go on a ride with him. She just wants to get out of this hole so Declan promises to take her somewhere that is totally devoid of hole. Bridget takes charge and snatches the keys off of him exclaiming that she is the one who'll be doing the driving. Before you can say ‘No Didge! Don't do it!' the car is zooming out onto the road. Full speed ahead!
Declan and Bridget are raving about the car ride. Declan however, senses that something must be up with Didge for her to do such a crazy thing. She says it's nothing so they both decide to keep the joy ride a secret. Paul stops them both and asks what they're doing. Declan doesn't want to speak to him but Paul insists that he's still concerned about him even though he has broken up with Rebecca. Bridget and Declan walk away. Paul watches them leave and sees Declan look back at him.
5306 Didge comes in and her parents tell her to order something to eat with them but she avoids the counter and heads straight for Declan who is sitting at the next table. They banter with each other before Didge asks if he's been for any driving lessons lately but their conversation is curtailed when her parents look at them and she heads back to their table. Miranda comments that it is nice to see her getting along with Declan but Steve adds the disapproving voice that he isn't the type to go mixing with because he is a thief. Didge replies that she was just doing as she was told by them to be polite and Declan gives her a sly wink as he passes their table on the way out.
A topless Declan is checking his oil whilst chatted to a blonde female and Didge looks extremely jealous. He spots her as she walks away and runs over to her, agreeing to her request of putting his shirt back on. DECLAN: What you're worried about my health now? DIDGE: No, I'm worried about mine; I've got a full stomach. She doesn't waste the moment though as she perves on him as he puts the t-shirt on before agreeing to go with him for a drive.
As they come to a stop, Didge jokes with him that he almost hit the speed limit…another 20k and he'd have been there. They continue their banter as Justin(e) and his two brothers pull up in another car and goad them into a race. Both cars speed off but the brothers car cuts in front of Declan's so much so he is forced to pull into the embankment and stop. (The car isn't damaged)
Declan and Didge catch up with the brother's car and she wastes no time in telling the driver what she thinks of him, his actions and to reinforce that, decides to soak them with water from the bottle she has. Declan can't believe what she has done and Justin(e) replies back that they are dead before both cars take off again. We see Declan's car pulling into a dead end road lined with garages. Both of them are bickering over what they should have done (apart from go where they've ended up) with Didge wanting to go to the police until Declan reminds her he isn't licensed. “What do we do now” she asks as Declan just looks at her.
Didge says the magic words, “It's been ages, they would have given up by now” and guess who pulls in behind them, yes you've guessed it the Hunter brothers just as they were about to reverse out of the dead end. Realising they are stuck, Declan tells Didge to get out of the car and likewise Justin and his brothers do so too. Both parties walk into no-mans land and Justin and Didge continue to trade insults at each other. Trying to diffuse the situation, Declan offers to get the other car washed as means of ending the dispute.
5307 Bridget and Declan run for their lives over a hedge.
Declan and Bridget run and hide behind a big dumpster, laughing when Justin and his cronies can't find them. They make googly eyes at one another, caught up in the adrenaline of the moment. Declan notices a scratch on Bridget's neck and tenderly strokes it, telling her she should get it checked out. More googly eyes are shared before they make their way back to the car.
Bridget and Declan banter their way back to the car when Declan notices Justin's crew has spray painted graffiti all over it. Declan freaks out and starts to blame Bridget – she was the one who threw her drinks and made them angry in the first place. Bridget holds her own and fights back with him. BRIDGET: Unlike some people who are all talk, I'm not about to run away like a big girl… DECLAN: Like a what? Bridge, huh, like a girl? Is that what you're gonna say? Uh, she kind of just did, Dec. DECLAN: Because I don't know if you've realised but you ARE! Bridget looks very offended and surprised by his aggro tone, and Declan looks like he knows he went too far, but he gives her backpack back anyway and drives off without her.
Bridget and Declan meet up again and bicker about who is to blame – begrudgingly knowing they both were. Feeling guilty, Bridget tells him that she could ask Ned and Janae to fix it at cost price, but Declan doesn't want to get her in trouble with her parents. Besides, he's not exactly rolling in cash. Cue Bridget taking some fifties out of her pocket and handing them over – she emptied out her savings account for him.
Bridget opens up the morning paper, which has a picture of everyone in front of the wall – everyone bar Janae who was the most important person there! Nice work cadet Riley. Declan appears and Bridget thinks he's there to get more money from her, but he's actually swung by to return some to her. They'll share the blame and the costs. He admits that he likes the way she stands up for everything. BRIDGET: Hasty words, you don't know me yet. DECLAN: No… not yet. Their little UST session is interrupted by Justin and his siblings hooning up the street. He's come by to challenge Declan to another drag race. Bridget laughs it off but it looks like Declan's going to accept the deal.
5310 Didge comes in, looking just about ready to leave the house. Steve asks her if she'd like to watch a movie with them, but she claims she has to study for her exams when she gets back. Steve believes her, but Miranda tells him she's lying – she's meeting Declan. She has a huge crush on him, and telling little lies about it makes it all the more exciting. Steve doesn't believe it for one second…and he doesn't like Declan, either. Miranda reminds Steve what they did when they were younger…secret meetings and stolen moments… Steve is horrified that Bridget would be doing this.
Declan is polishing his car, and Didge approaches. He didn't think she'd show, but she admits she told her parents she was studying. She doesn't look so sure as she gets into the car, though…
Didge and Declan drive up to see the Hunter boys. Justin has a *really* wide mouth. I'm sure it's not important to the plot, but it's so wide, it's worth a mention. They decide to race for each other's cars. Didge tells him not to – it's not his car to lose – but Declan agrees. The race begins. And we get a nice shot of St Kilda Pier as the break kicks in.
Didge arrives home, and grabs her books out her bag to carry into the house. Miranda is waiting in that way that parents do because they know something about you and you're about to be grounded. Randa asks how the library was, and Didge says it was okay. Miranda calls her daughter over into the kitchen where Steve, Rebecca, Declan, Adam and Sophie are waiting. Uh-oh… Adam says that Dec has been charged with speeding, reckless endangerment and driving without a licence. Didge comments that they didn't want to do this, but Justin kept calling them ‘chicken.' Yeah – like that reason's going to stand up in court. Miranda is oh so terribly sure that this is all down to Declan – he must have encouraged her. Steve is clear that Declan and Bridget are banned from seeing each other in any way at all – no contact. Adam and Sophie comment that Declan has been in trouble before, and this could lead to juvie for him. Rebecca is horrified.
5311 Miranda calls out to Didge that she's got a text message but when she doesn't hear her daughter coming, decides to read it herself - it's from Declan, telling her to meet him at Lassiter's lake. Miranda is not amused and makes it know when Didge comes into the room. Didge's defence is that she can't stop him from sending her messages and gives a guilty silence when asked if she is planning on meeting him. Miranda explodes when she finds out that it isn't the first message she's received either and when Didge tells her to shut up so she can explain.
Didge is telling Rachel about the joy riding and is forced to tell Rachel she was driving too when Rachel goes off on one. Rachel picks up on the fact that Didge seems to like Declan although she doesn't come out with it before the conversation changes to her and Ringo with Rachel confessing that they may be back together. Didge wants details but she gets another text message from Declan wanting again to meet her.
Didge waits patiently for Declan and eventually he turns up breathless after his run to meet her. Both compare notes as to how they are coping following the joy riding. Declan takes the bull by the horns and admits to her that he *really* likes her but just as he leans in for a kiss, she pulls back to remind him that she can't see him adding that her dad isn't even speaking to her because he is so angry. Declan thinks that they can dupe her parents but she tells him of the promise that she made to them – that she wouldn't see him and gets up and heads off. Mickey then comes into sight and watches as Declan goes after her, to see if she'll change her mind, reminding her that Steve isn't even her real dad. As soon as he's said it, he realises he overstepped the mark and apologises for saying it. Didge doesn't react nicely when he tries to stop her from leaving but eventually she heads off after telling him that he is a creep!
5320 Riley tells Bridget that Declan's waiting to see her, but she is adamant she won't see him – she doesn't want Declan to see her like this. Riley pushes her, but eventually concedes, and promises not to tell Declan the reason why. Outside Didge's room, Riley tells Dec that Didge doesn't want to see him. At all. Declan looks upset.
Becca tells Declan that Bridget's parents might not let him see her, but Declan thinks they will – after all, the ban on seeing each other doesn't stand any more, does it?
Declan is being discharged, and Becca is taking him home. But Declan sees Riley and asks him if he can go in to check on Didge. Riley says he'll go and ask her.
5321 Susan sees Rebecca and Declan enter the store as she finishes paying for her coffee and doughnut and goes over to apologise about everything that happened about the crash. DECLAN: I think Bridget could use the apology more than me.
5323 Bridget continues to flail around in the water, attempting to stay afloat. Declan comes through the side gate and rushes to her rescue, jumping in and pulling her to the side. They're suddenly very close and Declan tries to kiss her, but she pushes him away. He says he came to apologise. Rachel comes out the back with snacks and is shocked to see Declan in the pool with his clothes on. She asks what's going on, but he just gets out the pool and walks away.
Bridget still doesn't want to watch the race, and tells her mum to go alone. Didge's phone rings - it's Declan, but she rejects the call and kicks her walking frame away from her. Oliver, Riley and Ringo are leading the race and as they come up to Elle, Susan and Toadie's water stand, Riley falls and Oliver runs on. It's hard to tell if this is or is not Oliver's fault, but Elle tells him it was just an accident.
5326 Didge makes her way to answer the door but from the inside she can hear Rachel telling Declan to leave the chat for another day because she wants to be left alone. Declan explains why he wants to see her – so he can tell Didge exactly how he feels without stuffing it up. Just as she is about to open the door, Rachel asks that he gives her time and space to recover from the accident and the two of them move away from the front door.
5327 Bridget is trying to write a letter to Declan but all it consists of so far is: Dear Declan, I don't quite know...
Declan mosies in and is about to apologise for being late when he realises that Susan is back in charge. Looking mutinous, Declan takes a seat next to brake boy as Susan nervously tries to get back to normal. DECLAN: (to Tom) Shouldn't she be in jail? With her back to the kids, stoic Susan tries to keep her composure.
Susan collects up everyone's homework but doesn't receive anything from Declan. SUSAN: That's quite unsatisfactory. DECLAN: What are you going to do? Run me over with your car?
Susan, Declan and Rebecca are in the middle of a meeting regarding Declan's behaviour. Susan knows that Declan is quite close with Bridget and understands his need to protect her, but assures him that no one feels worse about the whole situation than her. Declan nods but his cold gaze betrays his true emotions.
5333 Declan throws a pen a him and tells him to get his own work. Zeke joins them and then they all see Didge walking up the corridor and say hello. Didge asks for the gossip, but there isn't any. Apart from Sarah got suspended for smoking. To which Didge replies “She's out of control!” Oh Didge, how little you know, how little you know.
Susan comes in and tells everyone to be quiet. To her surprise, they are. But when she turns around she sees it's because of Didge and not because she told them too. She tells Didge she'll catch her up on work she's missed in a minute, and then Declan gives up his seat for her without looking or really talking to her. Didge tells him to look at her and he does – but only because she made him.
Back to our one and only classroom set and Didge is at the front of the class talking to everyone about the accident and the coma. Susan is watching on in the background looking a bit guilty. Didge apologises for taking over the lesson but Susan says it's important. Didge asks for more questions and Declan asks if she's angry with anyone. Susan interrupts, but Declan says he's not talking about her. Didge explains that anger doesn't change things, but she was scared so if anyone thought she was angry she just didn't have the guts to speak to them. Declan and Didge look at each other for a long time.
5337 Bridget's on the phone in the lounge room making plans to see a movie with someone. She's very giggly and girly
5338 Declan and Ringo walk up the corridor Declan hopes Bridget is doing OK today.
5340 DECLAN: Story of my life, mate. He starts to text Didge to ask her about the trial.
Didge sits on the sofa when Riley comes out of his room, hearing her phone texting. He reads out Declan's message, but Didge is remembering the accident – she fell into the road!
5341 Declan approaches Ringo to see why he isn't at school and he replies that he has a free and promises to see him at lunch when Didge calls him over after the Parker family arrive home. As he meets her, she tells him about remembering the fight they had on the day of the accident and why he has been asking questions about him hating her. She says that the accident is nobodies fault and asks him to be mates again with her, which he agrees to with a ‘high five'.
Didge is surprised to see Declan on the doorstep and he launches into a spiel about him not being happy that they are mates again… so they can give each other another try and asks her out to a movie sometime. Aww. Didge is stunned happy and agrees to go out with him even if he doesn't want to call it a date!
5342 Declan quickly scoffs a mint before Bridget opens the door. They partake in a mutual admiration society, complimenting one another on their fancy date clothes while Rachel sniggers good-naturedly in the background. Miranda tells them that Steve will drive them to the movies and she just might come along for the ride to pick up a DVD. BRIDGET: Why don't you get that new one: The Return Of The Annoying Parent? MIRANDA: Sounds good, who's in it? Ext: Cinemas Declan helps Bridget out of the car while Steve and Miranda do the embarrassing ‘we'll pick you right up after the movie!' thing. Two teenage boys keep staring at Bridget and her walker, which makes Declan uptight. Bridget has to take the ramp because it's easier for her, so Dec offers to go inside and get tickets – but he's also looking a little bit uncomfortable, like the teens are getting to him.
Declan and Bridget are in line for tickets and Didge apologises for being so slow. They approach the counter, and while Bridget ums and ahs over what to see, the two teen goons from before heckle her to hurry up. Declan glares at them but also continues to look uncomfortable.
Bridget asks to sit in an aisle seat because it's easier for her to sit down. Settling down, Declan offers her a mint and quickly eats a few himself when she accepts. They share polite conversation before Declan offers her a drink, but she declines. Looooooooong pause. Declan holds out the mint packet to her again but Bridget wryly points to her mouth, which is still mint-a-licious. Nervous, Declan scoffs about a million more of them before they return to sitting in silence. Great start, guys.
Declan and Bridget keep sneaking glances at one another throughout the movie. It looks as though Declan is about to pull the tried and true ‘yawn and stretch' manoeuvre, but instead he just reaches for the drink – at the same time as Bridget. The recoil as soon as their hands touch, and the cheesy movie music swells in the background. Declan goes back to eating his mints (and I fear for his health – those things are supposed to have a nasty laxative effect if you eat too many...), while Bridget looks disappointed that nothing has happened.
Bridget and Declan discuss the movie. BRIDGET: What did you think? DECLAN: Not bad for a chick flick. BRIDGET: No way was that a chick flick! DECLAN: If a car doesn't explode or a chair isn't cracked over the back of someone's head, then it's a chick flick. The annoying teen boys are play fighting with one another in the background and one of them crashes into Bridget. He mumbles a ‘sorry', but doesn't look like he means it. Bridget keeps cool and maintains that everything's fine, but Declan pretends that he's left his phone in the theatre so he can go back and confront the dudes. Grabbing the main culprit by the scruff of the neck, Declan threatens him. DECLAN: If I see you hassling her again you're going to be eating peas through a straw, you got it?
Declan helps Bridget up the front steps while she thanks him for the movie and suggests they do it again some time. Declan agrees and they stare at one another for a beat. A flicker of excitement crosses Bridget's face when she notices definite triangular gazing on Declan's behalf, but he flees before anything of the smooch-variety happens, much to her disappointment.
5343 Didge thanks Riley for giving her a lift with the picnic stuff. Declan watches on as he offers to take it to a spot by the lake for her. As Riley lays out the rug, Didge trips and falls over, dropping her support on the way. As Riley goes to help her, Declan watches on and eventually turns and leaves. Didge spots him walking away, and asks Riley to take her home.
it's Declan. Riley is quick to jump down his throat asking what he wants, while Miranda suggests another time. Bridget appears however and informs her family that she is willing to talk to him. Bridget didn't think that her walking aid bothered Declan. He admits it didn't, until the incident with the guys at the cinema. After a lot of thinking he claims that he is fine with the idea of it now. Bridget reveals that she thought it was her problem, but now she realises it's his not hers. He asks if they can start over again; she admits she wanted to kiss him, but not any more. She doesn't want to even see him
5349 As calming jazz music plays in the background, Declan spots Bridget sitting with Josh at one of the tables. Oliver advises that he goes and talks to her, but Declan isn't so sure. Oliver points out that sometimes you have to do the opposite of what a lady is telling you to do. Declan still isn't sure, but Oliver tells him to go and say hi, and take the risk. Seeing Bridget and Josh laughing, Declan decides to give it a miss. [
5350 Josh and Didge are sitting in an uncomfortable silence outside The General Store. Didge suggests that next time they hang out, she'd like cake. Josh tells her that he likes her a lot, and she admits to liking him back. He leans in for a kiss, and at that very moment, Ollie and Declan walk up. Declan is gutted. (I had to add that one in because it shows just how much Declan loved Didge from early on)
5351 Out in the corridor, Didge talks to Rachel about her kiss with Josh and that she didn't have the fireworks everyone goes on about. Rachel suggests that is because she still likes Declan, which she rejects because he had his chance but when Didge opens up her locker taped to the side of it is a CD from Declan containing a mix of sorry songs. “Oh god,” says Didge but Rachel thinks it is cute. Removing it from her locker, Didge throws it into the nearby bin and walks down the corridor as Declan comes into view at the opposite end.
Ringo shows Declan the CD he found in the bin and ribs him about it before Declan spots Didge and goes to talk to her. The lad totally grovels to her but Didge isn't taking his apology and heads off after reminding him that he blew it.
Didge is spouting off at Rachel about Declan and guess what is taped back in her locker when she opens it – yes the CD of Declan's sorry songs. Rachel thinks it is romantic although Didge thinks it most definitely is not and throws the CD into the bin again.
Declan meets Ringo at his locker to find his CD taped to it and remarks that Didge obviously doesn't want his CD! Never! RINGO: That's definitely love. Declan asks how can Didge know he is sorry if she doesn't listen to the CD and Ringo points to his mouth and tells him to use it and apologise. He reminds his mate of what happened when he tried that and hence going for plan B and the CD. They then spot Didge and Rachel heading into the classroom and Ringo tells him to give up and move on. “Like I can do that” replies Declan before heading into the classroom and confronting Didge. DECLAN: You have to listen to this before you make up your mind. DIDGE: (annoyed) Make up my mind about what Declan? He then kisses her and we're not talking about a quick peck on the cheek either! DECLAN: That! DIDGE:(stunned) I've met someone! DECLAN:(firmly) Drop him. He throws the CD onto her desk and walks out the classroom.
5352 Declan tries to talk to Bridget but she gives him the brush off and heads straight outside towards Riley. Noticing that Josh has also come to see her, she plants a huge smooch on him to prove a point to Declan. Josh is pleased at first but then realises what the kiss was really about when Declan gives him a death stare.
5364 Declan dances his way over to Didge. He attempts to tell her that he likes her more than a friend, but she isn't able to hear above the noise that is music. Telling her a second time, she agrees that it's good that they remain just friends, leaving Declan a little disappointed. He tries to tell her again, but Josh reappears and whips Didge away to dance.
Chaos ensures as people try to make their escape; Declan comes over to help Didge and Josh, but a beam falls down between them, and Didge screams.
5365 Crying, Didge is desperately trying to pull Josh free from the metal bars that have knocked him to the ground. Declan comes to help, and lifts the bars so that Didge can pull Josh free. Didge is beside herself, but manages to pull Josh away. Declan grabs him, despite Josh's protests that he's too heavy, and pulls Didge's boyfriend onto his own back to get him out of danger. Whilst Declan is taking Josh away, Didge returns to help another unknown extra who doesn't look too delighted to be covered in grey dust. Declan hands Josh to some other guys, and runs back for Bridget. And just in time he grabs her as another metal structure collapses as the roof caves once again...
Declan and Bridget still wait with the ominous plane crash lights. Didge wonders how long it will take for people to find them, and Declan reckons a few days. What?! He references the Aussie miners who were rescued earlier last year. They wonder if they'll be famous. Didge tells him he was really brave to rescue Josh before and to come back for her, but Dec doesn't think it was. She wants him to accept the compliment but he won't. Instead, he tries to have The Conversation, but she tells him she can't handle it right now.
5366 We then cross over to see how Didge and Declan are doing. Declan can hear that they are trying to rescue them but Didge still looks scared witless. Since they've nowhere else to go, Didge brings up their disastrous date and him freaking out. Declan apologises again for how he behaved then but he doesn't feel like that now and when Didge asks if he didn't like having a “gimp for a girlfriend” he turns it around and ignores the bit about the gimp, instead concentrating on the ‘girlfriend' bit.
Didge asks the obvious question to Declan “are we going to make it” and all he can say is “I don't know”. She then makes a decision – that she is forgiving Declan and they can be friends again but he wants more than friendship. “I want that too,” she replies before reminding him that she is supposed to be with Josh but he replies back that he is supposed to be with him and just as they are about to kiss, Dan finds them and whilst they are both glad to be found, the timing wasn't exactly brilliant.
One of the rescue personnel shouts out that another two are on their way out and the gathered RSR's can see that it is Declan and Bridget who are gingerly making their way out. Steve immediately goes to hug his daughter since he is in the cordoned off zone while Miranda grasps, relived to see Didge out. Declan makes his way over to where Rebecca is stood and mother and son hug each other while Steve carries Didge over so she can hug her mum.
5374 Declan comments to Didge that Josh isn't at the party, so she points out that they only had short notice and she didn't have time to invite him. Declan makes a quick escape, back to the barbie.
Didge is trying to get hold of Rachel to warn her that Fitzy is on his way over to Angus'. Declan follows her out and asks to talk, but Didge heads down the street, ignoring him.
5378 Declan approaches Didge who is sitting on the wall and asks her what colour Mr Henderson's eyes are. She tells him to go away, he's not funny. Declan thinks the fact that she doesn't know the colour of his eyes proves she doesn't have a crush on him. He's got to the crux of the problem, telling her she's protecting Rachel. She tells him to drop it, but he won't. He thinks Rachel wouldn't do the same for her, but she disagrees. She asks him not to tell anyone, but he doesn't think he can do that.
Bridget tells her to forget it, it will blow over. Declan appears from behind them and disagrees. He accuses Rachel of being a selfish, gutless cow. She looks a bit shocked and it's left to Bridget to keep up the pretence that nothing's going on when Ringo appears.
DECLAN: Mr Parker, you have the right scumbag, but the wrong girl. (MY NOTE: E.G Lia...OMG Mr Parker!! haaha sounds so weird considering Declan is now his son in law)
He tells him, in front of what seems like a whole school's worth of extras, that it's Rachel who has the thing with Henderson, not Bridget. Everyone looks shocked, not least of all Angus, who has the distinct look of a man whose career has just come crashing down around him.
5379 Bridget tells Rachel not to say anything, while Declan encourages her to say something. Steve asks his daughter for the truth, but she sticks to her story. Realising that they are not getting anywhere, Fitzy sends everyone else off to class, and calls Henderson to his office. Rachel, Declan and Didge stand to wait their turn.
Fitzy is interviewing Declan. He asks if he thinks Mr Henderson behaved in appropriately. Declan reckons so, but Fitzy warns him he needs to be sure, as Angus could go to gaol over this. Declan informs Fitzy that Didge is lying to protect Rachel, which must mean that something big is going on. Fitzy doesn't have time to question Declan further as Angus arrives, and he's not in a good mood. Angus starts accusing Declan of having a hidden agenda - he and Bridget were an item. Staring each other out, Fitzy lets Declan leave.
Bridget meanwhile is sitting in the office, and sends Rachel a text, advising her to empty her mobile inbox. Declan wanders in and apologises for blowing her cover. He couldn't stand by and watch her take the blame. Getting annoyed, she asks him to leave her.
5383 Declan wants Bridget to take a break but she won't, she feels guilty. Josh is angry to see her and Declan together and tries to storm out, but it's hard when one's in a wheelchair. Bridget makes him wait and tells him she didn't mean to shut him out, there's just a lot going on at the moment. Josh isn't buying it and says that she doesn't like him in the way she likes her. She says that's not entirely true. JOSH: It's ok, Didge, really. I'll just staple gun the pieces of my shattered heart. Woah, nice melodrama there. Even Declan looks pained. Bridget asks if they can still be friends and he says maybe, before telling her to sort things out with Declan and leaving.
5386 Zeke wastes no time in letting rip at his sister but when Declan backs him up, Rachel deflects the attention off of her on him by saying “Didge still not talking to you” and “are you going to keep hanging around until she changes her mind?”
Didge has a dig at Declan for not telling her about his dad dying. He is still playing down his dad's death but does tell her that he is glad for his mum's sake. Again, she apologises for what Rachel said and he gives her one of his cute smiles before asking why doesn't she walk home (she's waiting for Steve to pick her up). She tells him that she still needs the granny gadget and he questions her if she's gotten too used to having it. DIDGE: Just because I'm giving you a hard time for not telling us anything doesn't mean you can turn around and give me advice. DECLAN: Ditch the walker. DIDGE: Get a better attitude. (Lia's Note: I love that scene)
5389 Didge finds Declan and tells him off for sending her the card (but they share a little ‘Yay! You're off your walker!' moment first). Didge isn't impressed that Declan has gone against her wishes and that “no means no”, but Declan replies that he didn't send it. Bringing over a milkshake, Harold spots the card and beams at them while Didge wishes for the ground to open up and swallow her.
5393 Rachel, Ringo and Didge are doing some sort of arty farty project when Justin(e) asks Libby if she'll be helping Rachel out with her homework. Libby warns him that if she hears one more word out of him, she'll send him to the principles office. A clearly very angry Rachel gets up and throws her book at him. Ringo manages to restrain Rachel from doing anything else while Justin(e) lunges at her before amusingly tripping over due to Declan's handy work and is then restrained by Daniel who comes storming in requiring some calm.
Didge, Ringo and Zeke are laughing about Declan's ‘ninja moves' on Justin(e) earlier on while Frazer excitedly rushes towards Ringo asking him to help him check some recipes in the taxi. Ringo reluctantly agrees to help him and follows him in the cab. It's clear that Frazer wants to tell him about Rosie's pregnancy but Ringo is going to have to guess as its ‘top secret'. Ringo manages to guess that Rosie's pregnant and they both high five while Ringo congratulates him, although he seems a little confused as to why he has to keep it a secret.
5408 Dan, Declan and Oliver arrive, all rowdy about footy or something, which Libby, Miranda and Bridget find amusing. Bridget reminds them it's just a practice match, but the boys urge the girls to admit they're just attracted to them. Dan presents his muscle to Libby to squeeze and she looks a bit flustered, but leaves to see Lou. Dan hopes to see her at the game.
5413 In the corridor, the boys are comparing caffeinated products - they don't plan on sleeping. Ringo thinks this will give Declan a chance to make a move on Bridget, but Dec thinks Ringo would have more luck. He assures him that he wouldn't go there. Meanwhile, Taylah is stressed about the mountain bike riding so Rachel and Bridget try to encourage her but it dissolves into an argument between the two of them. Taylah tells Zeke if she gets stuck in a tent with them she's going home. She thinks sharing a tent with him would be fun and Zeke agrees but thinks they won't be allowed. She goes to the toilet, leaving Declan to question Zeke about whether Taylah wants to take it to the next level ...
The boys tease Rachel about her fall, but Bridget faithfully defends her. Ringo and Bridget are looking pretty cosy and Ringo uses the yawning excuse to put his arm around her. He suggests it's bedtime and Zeke plays along, saying he's tired. Dan and Libby tell them they won't fall for that. They all go off, apart from Bridget who stays with Rachel who needs to rest her ankle. However, Rachel maintains that she's fine and Bridget goes to set up her sleeping back instead. Dan reminds Libby that they need to talk later. Later that night, the kids make tent-swapping plans that will allow Zeke and Taylah to be alone. Bridget warns they need to wait until Libby and Fitzy are asleep. Declan doesn't know where he's supposed to be sleeping and it looks like it's going to be a crush in Ringo's tent.
In the other tent, Bridget's suggesting a game of Hungry Hippo and goes out to get it. Declan thinks there's something going on between Ringo and Didge, but Ringo reiterates that he wouldn't go there. Declan encourages it, thinking there's a connection between the two of them.
Much more frivolous are Bridget and Ringo who are happily playing children's games. Ringo says he's enjoying hanging out with her and suggests they spend more time alone together. Bridget is speechless. Ringo suggests that she's still getting over Declan but she says she's totally over him, she just doesn't want to get involved with anyone - it's not just him.
5419 Zeke is keen to come, as is Bridget, but on learning it's at Sanctum, the all ages venue, Didge realises she has no chance of being allowed to go. Rachel admits they probably won't be able to go either. DECLAN: Don't look at me; I'm grounded till I'm like 34! (Lia's Note: could be interesting considering the fact that India would be 16 by then haha) Taylah is keen for them all to come and Zeke recons they may be able to, they just need to be able to convince their parents, somehow!
5425 He offers to show her some chords – E minor to begin with, in case anyone's interested. Rachel nods to the others to look at them together, and neither she nor Dec can believe what they're seeing. (had to add that coz of jealous Declan )
5429 Declan, Didge, Ringo and Zeke are jamming rubbishly as Ty listens on. Ty says they have to listen to each other and then make a place for each instrument. Declan asks why and Ty thinks they should take a break.
5432 Didge teases Ringo about his weak handballing skills and skips off to practice with Riley. Some dude called Chris (who had been checking Didge out), introduces himself to Ringo and Declan but immediately gets on the wrong foot with them by suggesting that Didge would be hot if she just put in a bit more effort. Ringo and Declan are very stony-faced and unimpressed.
5434 Declan wants to have a go at lead guitar but Ringo laughs this suggestion off. Zeke goes all geek and asks if he has a flux capacitor. The teens laugh but it goes way over Declan's head. Didge bails him out, informing him Zeke's quoting ‘Back To The Future' and the only way he'll get lead guitar is if he goes back in time and learns it from an early age.
5435 At a table, Zeke, Didge and Declan talk about Rachel's weirdness in being so concerned over Ringo, and Didge wonders what it's all about – she knows there's something secret going on with them. And just at that moment, Rachel flies in, wondering where Ringo is as no-one's seen him. Didge asks what's wrong, but her friend is saying nothing. Zeke decides to go help his sister. DIDGE: This is driving me crazy! DECLAN: Mmmm. DIDGE: What? DECLAN: I just wonder why you care so much. Is it jealousy? Declan suggests that Didge wants to be Ringo's be-all and end-all! She denies it strenuously. DECLAN: You are so clueless, Didge. DIDGE: I am not! (Lia's Note, YES FINALLY SOME CONVERSATION)
5436 Declan is trying to boast about his recent guitar conquests but Didge isn't in the mood for socialising or listening.
5441 Ringo, Didge and Declan whisper talking about Zeke and Taylah trying to avoid Zeke overhearing them however they can talk a bit louder now because Karl has arrived and takes Zeke to the other side of the store to chat.
5443 Declan, Zeke and Rachel look away as Ringo and Bridget kiss. Ringo gets up, whilst the other three tease Bridget for the Public Display of Affection. (Not really decget but its fun to see a jealous Declan, i watched this episode like the other day and i loved the look on Dec's face)
5447 Rachel and Didge relax on the lawn while Ringo and Declan come back from a jog. Ringo jokes that he's also getting exercise from practicing the rumba and tries to get Didge up for a spin, but she awkwardly shies away. Moving on, Ringo tells the gang that he's going to hire out a hotel room after the formal with his birthday money. Declan's stoked and is already thinking up ways to sneak in, but Didge gets even more freaked out. She's seen enough American teenage rom-coms to know where this is leading.
Trying again, Declan tells Ringo that he's noticed Didge being really hot and cold lately and how it must be confusing for him. Ringo pretends it doesn't bother him but eventually concedes that Didge's behaviour has been really weird.
5456 Declan & Ringo pile into the limo thinking all their Christmas' have come at once! Didge enters asking if she can get a lift and Ringo starts the photo session. The three of them are thrilled to see Zeke & Rachel enter and the photo session continues before they head to the formal.
Declan attempts to make small talk with Bridget who is sitting alone at a table at the formal, She is ignoring him because she is waiting for Chris to arrive. Chris eventually arrives and makes his excuses for being late before presenting Didge with a necklace while Declan looks on not at all happy!
5457 Lib gets off the phone from Riley and tells the teens and Dan that Bridget's now safe at home. Taylah hesitantly begins to ask whether or not Chris did anything, but Libby replies that she doesn't know. DECLAN: (dark) Yeah, well he'll get what's coming to him. (Lia's note: CUTEEEE)
Declan tells Zeke & Ringo about his deal with Paul but Didge arrives and hears part of the conversation so Declan is forced to tell her that he took and trashed up Chris' car and the police think he also duffed Chris up. Miraculously Rachel has suddenly appeared and twigs that is why the police wanted to interview them all. Didge isn't impressed but wants to know what the police think when Declan mentions someone else taught Chris a lesson. Rachel asks if this will affect his good behaviour bond. DECLAN: If they charge me I got straight to juvie.
5463 Zeke says that he woke up in hospital and seemed fine, even Didge spoke to him. Just as they begin to talk about her, she comes in. Rachel invites her to join them, but she says she doesn't have time. They offer their commiserations and tell her that they don't believe her Dad did it. As she leaves with some milk, Declan follows her and reminds her that they're her friends; she can talk to them. She can tell there's something she's not telling them but she refuses to say. Declan tells the rest of them that he doesn't know what's going on, but they have to do something.
Declan gets a text from Bridget declining his offer of going to see a movie as a friend. Zeke and Ringo aren't convinced. DECLAN: I just want to talk to her. She's obviously pretty gutted about her dad's arrest and I think something smells dodgy. ZEKE: (mocking) Smells dodgy? What, are you working on a hunch, detective? DECLAN: No, I just don't think Steve's guilty and I bet Didge doesn't either. I just want to help her out. RINGO: What, so you're just gonna go down to the crime scene, make a little citizen's arrest?
Declan calls for her and Audrey appears. Declan approaches her and finds Bridget's "B" necklace on the ground. Bridget comes around the corner and, to dramatic musical backing, they approach each other. Declan shows her the necklace.
5464 Didge demands the necklace back but Declan's more concerned about where he found the necklace. He assures her he's on her side but she says she dropped it there this morning, when she went there to clear her head. She runs off, leaving Declan looking after her helplessly.
Declan catches up with Didge and she tells him about Mozzie. Declan tells her that a lot of the Dingoes team won't be turning up for training until Steve resigns. Declan wants to talk them around. Steve taught him how to deal with aggression and he wouldn‘t do something like this. Didge says of course he wouldn't. Declan wants to know more but Didge would rather he gets off her case. Does he like her again? Is he jealous Chris took her to the formal? She tells him to get over it - and himself.
Didge catches Dec before he goes to the park. Lou told her about him sticking up for her dad. Declan says it wasn't right for him to just walk away. Besides, he has this feeling that he didn't do it. He asks if he's taking the blame for her. Didge says it was an accident and he can't tell anyone. He says he won't - she can trust him. Didge thanks him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
5469 Declan, Rachel, Ringo and Zeke walk in to find Didge sitting at a table. She tells them she was feeling sick earlier so didn't show for school, but she's better now. Ringo ribs Rachel about her nerdy performance in class earlier - she knew all about Iraq. Didge isn't in the mood and walks off.
Declan finds Didge trying to contact Riley, but he's not answering back. Declan says she can talk to him instead - people say he looks like Riley (if you really squint your eyes and use your imagination). Didge doesn't laugh. She says he'd hate her if she told him. Declan asks if it has anything to do with the necklace Chris gave her. He says maybe she should tell him what happened that night. After ads Didge tells him her dad wasn't even near Chris - it was her. Declan assures her that she's not gutless. Steve is such a caring dad that loves her - he'd give anything to have a dad like that. Didge doesn't know what to do and asks him to keep quiet. Rachel appears, concerned, but Declan pretends Didge is upset about a personal medical condition. The rest of the gang go to the General Store while Didge hangs about herself.
Rachel sends Zeke and Ringo away so she can interrogate Declan. She thinks he's getting close to Didge again, those meaningful looks and so on. Declan reminds her of the time she kept Ringo's secret for him that time he was in trouble, even though Didge nagged her to tell. Well, it's nothing like that.
5471 Didge bemoans to Declan that she wishes her life could go back to normal like it was before. Declan reassures her that it wasn't an accident but Didge tells him that whether Steve likes it or not she is going to court and is going to tell the truth.
5472 Didge and Declan are trying their hand at forging notes from their parents so they can skip school to go to court when they notice Steve approaching. Hiding the slips, Declan wishes Steve luck and says it's not fair that he could be facing prison. Steve thanks him and Didge hugs her dad, telling him she loves him. They compare their note forging abilities when Steve exits, but I am too distracted by the old man random extra in the background. He is wearing the most hilarious oversized toupee on earth. Nicola walks in and immediately knows something is suss with the teens. Dec goes to get a drink and Nicola tells Didge that she needs to respect her dad's decision, but Didge doesn't see why she cares so much since she's been trying to break up her family anyway. Nicola asks Didge to hand over the notes, but Didge threatens to tell her mum the truth about Riley if her aunty dobs, so Nicola ends up forging a note for Didge much to her surprise.
Didge arrives and tells Dec that they have to get back to “school”. Taking Didge aside, Dec asks if she's sure this is the right thing to do. Didge says no, but that she can't let her dad go to prison either.
5478 Declan reckons, arrogantly, that he could have raised some money through it. Bridget tells them he's a very good kisser and the gang are shocked - until she adds that a guy over there told her. Bridget is sure that Ty would get more business than Declan.
Bridget and Rachel are discussing random guys, whilst the boys make arrangements for the kissing booth. Ty and Declan are keen to sell tickets in advance for $1. Ringo wonders what the girls are talking about. DECLAN: Us. (Camera zooms out to show the girls) RACHEL: You'd kiss him? BRIDGET: Yeah. RACHEL: Dude! BRIDGET: I know. RACHEL: Who'd have guessed? BRIDGET: Well come on, you have to admit Barack Obama's a little bit hot. That was weird. Bridget confesses about the other guy she would kiss, looking over to the boys: Zeke. Are they going to do every possible relationship combination in the teen gang? Rachel is grossed out to hear that her brother is deemed hot. The boys join them and inform them of their scheme which includes a competition for the most pashes. Bridget agrees to go to the General Store with Declan,
Declan confirms that Bridget's ok with the kissing booth. She's sure that his kisses will rake in the cash. Ringo, Zeke, Ty and Rachel arrive to let Declan know that all his tickets have been sold, whereas Ty's only sold two. Declan is thrilled. BRIDGET: Maybe it was, um, oh never mind. DECLAN: What? BRIDGET: Well I saw you're mum at the bar when I left, buying a bottle of wine. DECLAN: No. BRIDGET: But she wouldn't have bought all your tickets, would she? The guys tease him, but Rachel and Bridget think it's sweet. Declan is furious.
5480 Declan, Didge and Ty are assembling the kissing booth. Declan wonders who bought his tickets, and checks out all the girls in the bar, much to Didge's chagrin. DIDGE: I guess you would want it to be someone hot. DECLAN: (thinking hard) Yep.
Declan strops off to the bar to see Didge. DECLAN: Ringo is doing a roaring trade. DIDGE: Declan, would you trade your one biggest fan for all those women? DECLAN: Depends who my one biggest fan was. Didge is about to say something, but Declan looks off in the distance... DECLAN: Cos if it was someone like her... Didge looks upset and Declan has no idea.
Declan approaches Didge again and, indicating a blonde over the other side of the bar, wonders if she bought his tickets. DIDGE: No, it's not her. DECLAN: How do you know? You didn't even look. DIDGE: I know who bought your tickets. Declan shrugs in confusion, and Didge whips out a very very very long ticket tape. DECLAN: You? DIDGE: You seem disappointed. Well, good. Because I was joking, I just knew you wouldn't beat T... But she doesn't get to finish her sentence because Declan grabs her and kisses her, with Ringo and Donna staring in the background. Steve and Rebecca are watching. Steve looks as if he might be watching a guy do a striptease; ugly, yet somehow compelling. STEVE: What are we going to do? REBECCA: Nothing? STEVE: She's my little girl. REBECCA: Well, not any more. Steve put his head in his hand. Rebecca slaps his cheeks laughing. Declan pulls away from the kiss, and they both look rather shellshocked. DECLAN: One down. DIDGE: (whipping out the ticket tape) Forty nine to go. They run to the booth and throw their arms around each other.
5482 Libby sees Dan and smilingly points out how in love Didge and Declan look (who are mucking around on a bench, oblivious to the world). But Dan could care less and is acting quite skittish. Perhaps Harold's mood is catching. It looks like Dan wants to say something important to Lib, but he can't get the words out. Meanwhile, the rest of the teens have spotted Didge and Declan snogging and quietly make fun of them.
5487 Didge races up to Declan and hugs the life out of him, concerned to see that his hands have been burnt (from where he tried to open the scout hall door).
Didge feeds Declan some chips because he can't use his hands and Declan chooses this exact moment to tell Didge that he loves her. Smiling, Didge teases him and makes him repeat himself a few times until he eventually yells “I LOVE YOU!” for the whole shop to hear. They smooch to cheers and applause.
5489 Declan answers the door to Didge, who has stopped by to offer her condolences and drop off the mail. Realising what's in the big parcel Didge is holding, Declan grabs it and walks Didge outside. Rebecca tells Carmella that Susan sends her love but Carmella doesn't answer.
Declan explains to Didge that the parcel has family portraits of Carmella, Marco and Chloe in it and it's not exactly the best time to rub the happy Kodak moment in Carmella's face. Didge notices that the parcel isn't sealed and takes it upon herself to look at the pictures like a big snoop. There's a sweet one of the three of them and a nice one of Carmella and Marco looking all loved-up. BRIDGET: Look at how in love they were. DECLAN: We look like that. Declan thinks that he should take the parcel back to Carmella, but Didge has a better idea.
Didge and Declan sit together on the couch with candles burning behind them. There's a lot of shy talk like, “Are you sure about this?”, “You're beautiful” and “We'll always remember this” to make us think they're going to TITTNL (Take It To The Next Level™). But they don't TITTNL, they take happy snaps of themselves instead, just like Carmella and Marco did.

5492 Declan tells Didge that he's not going to the funeral, but neither is Didge as she's got somewhere else to be. Declan wonders where she's been disappearing to the past couple of days, but even the threat of tickling won't make Didge reveal the truth. Steve angrily walks in with the phone bill, telling Didge off for sending hundreds of text messages to Declan. STEVE: He lives next door! You could put your head out the window and yell! Declan makes a hasty retreat, as does Didge who warns her dad not to freak out. She's going to pay for it.
And how is she going to pay for it? With her new receptionist job at the gym of course. This new set is kind of Home & Away-ish, and gives ample opportunity for the viewer to perv on sweaty dudes and dudettes as they work out on the treadmills. Declan has followed Didge there to see what she's getting up to. DECLAN: (in a nerdy voice) Excuse me miss, is this where I get big muscles? Didge explains to Declan that she had to keep her job a secret because her dad doesn't want her to get distracted from her school work. They agree to meet up in Didge's lunch break, but Declan won't leave her alone till he's got a kiss.
Declan and Didge have lit a candle for Marco and Didge reads out a passage from the bible. After they pay their respects, Didge gives Declan a present she bought with her first wage - a very expensive t-shirt. Declan's stoked, but says it's too much, but Didge is quite happy to spend money on her “hot boyfriend”. DECLAN: It's still too much. DIDGE: I want to give you everything.
Didge and Declan snuggle contentedly on the couch.
Didge and Declan are having a snogging session on the couch. Didge has ended up wearing Declan's new t-shirt over her clothes while Declan is pleasingly shirtless. Steve walks in on them and cries out in surprise, causing Declan to fall off the sofa. Steve grumbles that he thought Didge was going to be out all day. DIDGE: I came back for lunch. STEVE: (disgusted) Yeah, and dessert by the looks... Steve is flustered because he thinks the teens are taking things too quickly, but Didge tells her dad that he has to trust her. Declan plays the nervous boyfriend card and says they could take things a little slower, which Steve agrees with, but Didge defiantly says that it's her life and she likes where it's going. She grabs Declan's hand and drags him out the door, announcing that she's off to work. STEVE: What?! DIDGE: Yeah, I got a job to pay for that phone bill. DECLAN: ... Bye!
5493 Declan pops in to see Bridget, with a membership application form so she can talk to him without getting into trouble. However, he's going to have trouble paying for it. The fees seem a bit steep seeing as members apparently have to exercise in the foyer. She suggests they see each other at his place rather than hers, but he isn't very keen on the idea. Instead she "improvises", kissing him there, before being interrupted by Nicola. She takes a locker key and promises not to dob.
Declan wants to get a job as a towel boy at the gym, even though that job doesn't exist. Nicola comes out and continues to treat Declan kindly, telling them that she's on their side. With Nicola gone, Declan proposes they do a deal with Steve, so that he can feel in control, but Bridget refuses. Bridget eventually seems to concede that they do need to come up with a plan.
Declan offers Steve $150, the refund from the t-shirt Bridget bought him, to put towards her phone bill. Steve gratefully receives it and commends his responsible action. Declan shows his willingness to respect the rules of the family. Bridget agrees that she too wants to earn his trust. Steve is pleased.
5494 Ringo, Bridget and Declan welcome Zeke back from Science Camp by mocking him, asking if they taught him to make X-ray specs, etc. Rachel comes over and teases him too. Ty comes in and says hello. He asks them if they've seen the newspaper. Zeke asks how Carmella is and Ty says he doesn't know. Bridget says she has to go as she's late for work and kisses Declan. The others pretend to gag. Ringo tries to make plans for the evening and Zeke randomly mentions David Tennant. It's not clear why. Donna bounds over and says hey. Everyone just looks at her and the boys say hi, then she leaves.
5496 In the corridor Helen Carr sees Dec and Didge pashing and asks what they think they're doing. DECLAN: Knitting? She's not amused and tells them to get to class. In class she reminds everyone that the school has a clear code on public displays of affection and, seeing Donna, school uniform too. She tells them that Lib and Fitzy will explain it all to them after school. The class aren't one bit happy about this.
Dec and Didge are having a pashing competition while the rest of their class cheers them on. Libby refuses to step in when Fitzy asks what to do and then Helen Carr arrives.
5497 Declan and Didge are mucking about in the background like overexcited puppies while their mums chat over coffee. Miranda is embarrassed by what Steve said to Rebecca and admits that she could “punch his stupid face sometimes”. She assures Rebecca that Steve actually does likes her and Declan in his own weird way. The excitable puppies accidentally knock over a table and Rebecca and Miranda are on their case in an instant, berating them like 5-year-olds before sending them outside.
Declan is trying to keep up his pash quota with Didge but she keeps pushing him away. He asks what's wrong and Didge says that they can afford to take things more slowly, before confessing that she had a chat to Rebecca. Declan's outraged, but Didge replies that Rebecca was actually pretty cool and did have a point: they have all the time in the world so why rush? Declan is still quite miffed about the parental interference. DECLAN: So where does this leave us? DIDGE: I don't know, but it's nothing to worry about. She kisses him on the cheek, but it doesn't do much to cheer him up.
5500 Declan is teasing Didge about her wanting to go slow in their relationship, and he wants to know what the rules are about kissing her. She's not telling. Ringo, Rachel, Donna and Zeke are chatting at a table, and Ringo asks why Zeke is still alive, given that Zeke walked in on her. Donna thinks that it's odd that Didge was all over Declan at the kiss-a-thon and is now being so straight.
The gang return back home, still laughing at Zeke, who is bemoaning his credibility and lack of friends, now. Declan laughs – and admits he wasn't angry really, the whole thing was a joke that they were all in on. Didge, Declan and Zeke all sit down, whilst Donna and Rachel get drinks. Donna pulls a magazine off the side – and a letter from Angus to Rachel falls off the bench with it. She puts it in her school bag, and Didge is quietly watching...
5505 Declan and Didge approach Rachel, who is working at a table outside the General Store. She tells her mates that Susan's cool with her and Angus being together, and Didge picks up a book that Rachel is reading called "Larousse Gastronomique". She thought she'd cook something for them all when Angus comes to dinner.
5507 Didge is getting a big bear hug from Declan. Night has fallen by this stage - why is she only getting there now? Didge glumly asks if he likes her hair - because she hates it - but Declan replies that he likes everything about her. They smooch.
Declan asks Didge how things are going at home with her parents and she says they're still a bit tense. DECLAN: My mum reckons your folks are made for each another. DIDGE: I dunno, they're pretty weird. DECLAN: Weird? You don't even know weird, I am the king of weird. DIDGE: Is that right? DECLAN: I almost had Paul as my step-father. Yeah, you reckon you can beat that? Go for it by all means. DIDGE: I do. Riley got with Nicola. Declan is speechless and Didge makes him promise not to tell anyone. Donna skips in and greets “Bridge” and “Dexter”, wondering if they've heard anything more about Rachel. Without drawing breath, she then asks what they're up to and Didge replies that she was thinking about getting a haircut, absently brushing her hair with a fork like The Little Mermaid.
5508 Declan finds Didge staring morosely down the street, willing her dad to come back. He wraps his arms around her and Didge asks him to promise her that they'll never get like her parents. Declan nods, “Promise.”
Didge and Declan are sitting on the bed trying to figure out if the crack in the wall plaster looks like Ghandi or not. DECLAN: Wow, I've been sleeping here the past couple of weeks and he's been looking down on me the whole time. That's really kind of embarrassing. Didge makes a move to go back home but realises that things are much more calm and peaceful with Declan and decides to stay a while longer.
5509 Bridget and Declan sit bored waiting for Steve and Miranda. Bridget eventually gets up and says she's going in to see them. Declan tells her it'll just make things worse, but she says she doesn't care.
Bridget and Declan are on the couch, Didge is resting her foot on the table. Declan tells Rebecca that she tripped and fell. Bridget says she can't go home as she doesn't want to stay with her mum. Declan asks if she can stay in his room. Rebecca obviously says that's out of the question, but Declan assures her nothing is going to happen. Declan assures her nothing will happen. Rebecca says she has to tell Steve and Miranda. Bridget says she doesn't want that, but agrees to tell them herself, just not at the moment. Declan promises Bridget he'll look after her, and Carmella (who's been watching) smiles at Rebecca, who sees she's beaten.
5510 In Declan's bedroom (Declan now present), Didge wonders why she also gets sucked in by Rachel. Declan tells his girl that even though Rach is a princess, Didge knows that deep down she cares for her. They kiss, and Bec invades the room with a camp bed, clearly just looking for a way to check up on them. Plus, she'd like to set some ground rules for them, given that she's putting a lot of trust in them. Bridget suggests she go brush her teeth leaving mum and son to chat. Declan tells Rebecca that he and Didge have already agreed the ground rules: 1: No kissing after midnight 2: No hugs lasting longer than thirty seconds 3: Only wear their ugliest pyjamas He'll also draw a white line straight down the room if it makes his mum feel better. It doesn't. All serious, Bec tells Dec to sit down. REBECCA: I know how the two of you feel about each other, and I think it's great. But I also know that Bridget is very vulnerable at the moment, and I don't want her to do anything that she might feel bad about... DECLAN: Mum, I would never... REBECCA: No, I know that, I know that... DECLAN: Mum, I swear I'll do the right thing... REBECCA: Okay. Good. And you will also sleep on the camp bed.
Didge comes off the phone and tells Declan that her rehab therapist wants her to go and do a talk about her recovery to a group of new patients. She thinks it's ridiculous, given that she's on crutches.
Cut to later, and upstairs in Declan's room, Bridget and Dec are in separate beds. Rebecca stands by the door, but clearly doesn't want to leave them in there alone. She eventually goes, and Didge gets a text from Miranda telling her to sleep well, and that she loves her. Declan reminds her that Bridget still loves her mum, despite how she feels. Bridget admits that she doesn't want to do the rehab talk because she doesn't like talking about herself; Declan disagrees. He remembers her first day and her happily standing in the class telling them who she was. She can't believe he remembers it. Didge admits that hurting her foot has brought the whole accident back. She's also feeling lonely in her bed, but Declan refuses to move over; he promised his mum he'd stay in the camp bed. They agree to hold hands instead! Aw. Cuteness.
Didge tells Declan that after the accident the last thing she wanted was someone giving her a pep talk. So Dec encourages her to tell her story as it is – say how tough it was, that she's still recovering and is still clumsy. Bridget wants to know when Declan got so clever. He leaves to go to school, and promises to save her a seat. She thanks him for being so nice. DEC: You'll ruin my reputation. (walks away) Come on. Bad boy walking.
5511 Didge works out how she found out about her being at the rehab centre (Declan) and announces that she isn't for sale when Miranda tries handing her some lunch.
DIDGE: You're really bad at small talk aren't you! Declan, Zeke and Donna enter and he is quick to “claim” his girlfriend and kisses her on the cheek. The teens are stunned when Declan announces that he's paying when Sienna comes to take their order.
Didge brings up Declan's very deep pockets and tells him off for buying everyone's food at the store because he's got nothing to worry about. He thinks otherwise but she reaffirms that he has nothing to be worried about, so asks if she is planning on seeing Josh again. “Probably not” Didge replies before telling him to read her lips… DIDGE: I love you. He teases her by commenting that she didn't tell Josh that, she didn't, and is trying to jest with her by saying “when you say properly” but she gets the wrong end of the stick (or should that be crutches) because she picks them up and hobbles out of the house telling him that she is going to prove to him that there is no probably.
5512 Declan bugs Didge for clues about his birthday present while they play video games, but she won't elaborate. He then bugs her about his surprise party, claiming that he has to work on his ‘surprised' face so he doesn't look freaked out instead. Ignoring a text from her mum, Didge lies and says there isn't going to be a party. Declan stands up regardless and starts to practice his thank you speech. DECLAN: I'd like to thank all of you for coming. A surprise party for me! I really didn't expect it, thank you so much. And a stripper! Didge gets another text and Declan is jealous to learn this one is from Josh. Didge reassures him that Josh is just a mate - he was there for her, now she's going to be there for him.
Declan and Didge are play fighting (and Eloise gives James quite the slap on the face!), but they kiss and make up.
5513 Declan is getting into the birthday spirit already, being given three cheers and blowing out a candle on his breakfast. He digs for information on the night's celebrations, but all he is told is that they're having a family dinner that will involve cake. Rebecca gives him a present which he opens to discover weekday underpants. He's slightly more interested to get a three hour session with a personal trainer from Oliver which he slyly notes will keep him away from the house for the afternoon. Elle and Bridget tell him that they haven't had a chance to get him anything yet. As Bridget leaves, Paul comes in, wishing Declan a happy eighteenth and delighting him by presenting him with a top of the line laptop. When Paul too claims no knowledge of a party, Declan begins to worry. Paul suggests that it's just that he's not invited.
His party-based musings are halted as he spies Josh putting his hand on Bridget's at their table outside the General Store. He approaches them furiously and Bridget fabricates an unbelievable story about running into Josh on her way to buy his birthday present. In the background, Rebecca raises her eyebrows. Declan isn't impressed and manages to extract the truth: Josh texted Bridget and asked to meet her, so she did. Rebecca goes to leave and Declan follows. DECLAN: Look, Bridget, what would you think if I was in a secret meeting with my ex-girlfriend? JOSH: (in an "I'm being helpful but I'm actually really irritating" way) That you were cheating. DECLAN: Thank you. BRIDGET: No, but that's not what this is!
Bridget finds Declan working out (although there isn't a personal trainer to be seen). She tells him that it's time for his birthday presents and brings him into the changing rooms. She pulls down her shorts, which seems ominous, revealing a plaster on her lower back. She peels it off and underneath is a very raw-looking tattoo of his name. OK, I know we all saw this coming, but still, I need a moment just to revel in Bridget's stupidity. Declan is shocked, but thinks it's hot. He kisses her. She admits that it's partly to annoy her parents. DECLAN: But you do know you're stuck with this forever? BRIDGET: Well you're going to be stuck with me forever. Seriously, she's such a fool. He agrees to no more jealousy. He tries again to ask if anyone's organised anything for his birthday and she acts put out that he doesn't think the tattoo is enough.
5514 Outside, Declan still thinks something is going on. He is wondering where all the guests cars are. Bridget acts frustrated and tells him tthere's a nice family dinner planned, and he should try to be grateful. He tries to listen at the door, but hearing nothing, he decides it's going to be a 'boring 18th after all - apart from your gorgeous tat(too)'. He decides he wants a closer look, but as he opens the door, everyone jumps out, and there's cheers and party blowers going off. Rebecca greets him and he says he knew he had a party. When she worries it's blown, he says Bridget had him convinced there wouldn't be a party, so she still got him. Then he notices the costumes and tells Bridget she had him going. She says she hasn't even started yet, and he has to get changed.
Bridget and Declan come out in costume as Bonnie and Clyde, to massive applause. Steph corners Toadie and says that Libby's been dancing with Dan for half an hour. Toadie asks if this is a problem. She says it could be since she's started seeing someone else.
Back in the living room, Ty sings a song. Didge and Dec kiss. Callum dances, they kiss some more, and Didge leads Declan toward the bedroom as they kiss again in the hallway.
Outside, Bridget and Declan stop kissing and he goes to go into the bedroom, but notices the couple kissing through the crack in the door and leads her away. Inside, Steve stops the kiss and moves away, saying she knows how he feels about this. She says she loves him. Steve says then she should stop it, but she says she can't. She raises her voice, shouts that she can't, and walks out. Declan is trying to distract Bridget, but she hits him with her crutch and asks who was in there. Just then she sees Nicola come out, distressed, as do all the women, including Miranda. She walks into the corridor followed by Declan and Bridget. They all see Steve come out who claims 'it's not what it seems'. Miranda storms off. Bridget calls after her and asks Steve what's going on. He follows after Miranda.
Back at the drinks table now, Bridget asks Declan what he saw. He says she should ask her dad. She says she would have if he hadn't left straight away. He tries to distract her again, but she presses him until he confesses that he saw Steve kissing Nicola. She asks why he didn't tell her. He says he didn't want to spoil the night for her. She says 'you mean you didn't want to spoil the night for you' and walks off.
5515 Didge sits on the side of the road, dejected. Declan comes out with Hummingbird Cake – he got it especially for her. DIDGE: So what's the moral of the story...you're not completely self-centred? He persuades her to eat it, and he tells her that he loves her. He didn't want her to see her dad and Nicola the way he did, but he knows he shouldn't have protected her from it. Didge responds that it's a really good cake. She also wonders how she goes about speaking to her mum – she's treated her so badly...but she doesn't have t wonder for long because Miranda is on her way over. Declan makes a quick exit, after helping Bridget up
5518 Miranda arrives, clutching a tupperware box with some brownies for Bridget, who feels she doesn't deserve them. Declan gratefully takes them. Bridget feels bad that she blamed her mum when it was Steve's fault, but Miranda has no hard feelings and is just glad that Bridget is being looked after.
They're getting their money's worth out of this new set. Declan is a bit anxious at the sound of needles. The tattoo artist offers a word of warning about getting boyfriend/girlfriend tattoos (which is a little late for Bridget, also present) but Declan is happy to go ahead. TATTOO ARTIST: It's your skin. Declan goes a bit pale when he sees a sign saying "Instant Tattoo Removal", displaying an axe underneath. The tattoo artist tells him to hold still and he passes out as the needlework begins. As he comes to, he pretends the room is just stuffy, although the air con is on high. He hopes that they're almost done, only to be told that they're yet to start. Number 24 A wimpy Declan sits much happier at home where Bridget writes her name on his arm in pen instead. She tells him that he doesn't need to get a tattoo, which pleases Declan. She shows him a dot that she managed to ink in before he passed out. BRIDGET: Whenever I see that dot, I'll know that you love me. DECLAN: Loud and proud. BRIDGET: Loud and proud. They kiss.
5519 Bridget considers why Rachel would say any of those things. Declan says because she's a princess. Carmella comes over and reads. She says Elle didn't write it. Declan is dismissive of this. Rebecca comes over to read and agrees that Elle wouldn't write that. ‘Poor Susan'
Rebecca wants Declan to ‘hand them over'. Also at the table are Bridget, Declan and Toadie. Rebecca says unless she gets a good report, they'll disappear for quite a while. He hands over his car keys and accuses Rebecca of treating them like a yoyo. Rebecca laughs and says they've come in handy.
Bridget remarks to Declan that his mum hasn't arrived. He says Toadie wouldn't let her leave until they found the stapler. They found it in box of Cheese Twists. DECLAN: Next time I'll have to hide it better.
5523 Ringo mentions ‘exploitation – like a piece of meat' Declan says ‘Dirty and cheap, just the way I like it'. Zeke says if Miranda doesn't buy Declan, then Bridget will. She says he's hers, ‘and I better get my $5 worth'. Donna asks Bridget why she's not for sale, but Declan is against the idea. Donna accuses him of double standards, and Ringo tells him to get his money out. Bridget says he better pay top dollar or ‘I'm going to find myself a new home'.
Declan: 15 to 1. A show pony. Recent bidding indicates your mum and your girlfriend are having a war on who wants you more, mate.
Declan tells Bridget he knew Josh was trouble and ‘he'll get what's coming to him' (Lia's note: thats what he said about Chris Knight..hmmm)
5525 Declan comes in and thinks his girlfriend looks amazing. Donna is pleased with her work, and Dec moves in for a smooch. DIDGE: My mum's in the kitchen. DEC: These lips don't stop for nobody. Miranda walks through the house and out the door, saying goodbye to Didge and completely missing Declan kissing her daughter.
5527 Josh and Declan play for what seems like a million years until Josh shoots so many baskets it's clear that Declan's never going to win. They stop to heckle one another and Josh provokes Declan into pushing him just as Didge hobbles into the stadium to witness it. Angry, Didge tells them off and says they're both losers.
Declan asks Didge what he can do to make things right with her again, so Didge tells him to grow up and give her some time alone to figure out what she wants. Declan leaves and Didge turns her wrath to Josh, warning him not to make up anymore dumb stories where he gets to be the hero.
5530 There's a knock at the door and it's Declan for Didge. He knows what he did was wrong, and he knows he made her feel awful. He doesn't know how to make things right, but he doesn't want to be without her. Didge declares that this is all just words, and he needs to show her how he feels. She slams the door in his face.
By the lockers, Declan gives Didge a post-it note: “General Store, lunchtime.” He doesn't say anything.
Didge turns up to see Declan at a table. She asks him what he's doing, but he refuses to talk. Instead, he holds up his words on pieces of cardboard, a la Love Actually: I Declan Napier Admit that I'm an idiot And I Solemnly swear That I will Never ever Treat you Badly again I love you Bridget Parker Please forgive me She agrees to forgive him, and he offers to get her a sundae, his shout.
5539 Rachel is on the phone to Bridget and seems concerned about what she is telling her to pass on. She tells Declan that Bridget has said she doesn't want him to come to collect her. Dec grabs the phone, but Bridget has hung up on her. He refuses to accept that she'd rather have Rachel there, but cannot contact her.
Bridget goes to answer the door to Declan, who has brought her some chocolates. He offers her a drive, which she declines, but asks him to come back later to talk to her, before slamming the door in his face.
Steve gathers the boys and gives them a quick pep talk and brings the team spirit up a notch. Dan does the same, with a few well-placed clichés. Bridget's voice echoes in Declan's mind, and it is clear that he's not focussed on the game. He runs off the pitch and Steve and Dan's shouts won't bring him back.
Declan arrives at Bridget's door and begs her to dump him so it's over and done with. She takes his hand and tells him that she won't dump him, but that she realised something important, that she's ready. A full-on pash confirms that she is indeed talking in Neighbours euphemisms.
5540 Didge and Declan are making out on the couch, and Didge tells Declan that she doesn't want to be like Riley – always running away because she's afraid of feeling things. She tells Declan she missed him because she loves him so much – oh, and they have the house to themselves. Declan is quite gobsmacked, and asks Bridget if she has any contraception, except he asks her in that Neighbours way which goes: “do you have any?” Anyway, it doesn't matter, because Declan ‘has some' at home, and he's going to get it. Right now. Bridget sits back on the couch looking anything but ready.
Declan returns, and apologises for being late, but he ran into Carmella. It's all awkward for a bit. And then Declan picks up Bridget and carries her into the bedroom.
Didge and Declan are laying on the couch, Didge clothed, Declan without a top. Seriously, you're not worried that your parents are about to walk in??! Why do teenage kids always make it so obvious by getting half naked in the lounge?! Declan thinks that Bridget is really quiet, and she admits that she expected to feel different. DECLAN: We were nervous, I'm sure we'll get better at it. DIDGE: No, not that. I just expected to feel differently, and I don't. DECLAN: You're not having second thoughts, are you? DIDGE: No. No way, are you? DECLAN: No, no way. Didge tells him he can catch the last half of the footie if he wants, but he says he's not going anywhere...ever! They snuggle up, but Bridget still doesn't look very happy.
Declan and Didge hear Lou outside with Mickey and run to the bedroom. Unfortunately, Mickey sees them. Bridget tries to explain to Mickey that he can't tell anyone Declan was here, as they'll be angry that he missed the football.
Mickey tells them he saw Didge and Declan earlier, but no more. Rebecca offers to give Declan an apple pie to take to the Parkers, and when Ringo and Declan go to get a drink, Rebecca and Miranda share a look.
The Parkers are cooking dinner, and Didge is a little distracted. There's a knock at the door, and Bridget runs to answer it, throwing herself at Declan who's arrived with apple pie. Dec's worried that everyone's going to guess, and her kissing him isn't going to help. Mickey sees them kissing, and Declan tells Bridget about the ten bucks he gave him earlier. In the kitchen, Miranda asks everyone to sit down, and thanks Declan for the pie. Didge and Declan play footie under the table, but Steve comes over, demanding to know what Declan has been playing at.
5543 Bridget and Declan are still lying on the couch. Declan has his shirt off. BRIDGET: Would it offend your masculinity if I called you cute? DECLAN: Cute? BRIDGET: Yeah, but you know, in a rugged, hot sort of way. Declan laughs he could deal with that, as Bridget's mobile rings. She decides to ignore it for her ‘rugged hot cute guy' and they kiss. Susan bangs on the door. Declan jumps behind the sofa. We see her outside as she shouts she's brought a casserole. She starts to say she's sorry to hear about Nicola. Bridget opens the door and asks what happened to her? Susan realises Bridget doesn't know. She says she's in hospital, suspected hit by a car. Susan offers to stay with her, but Bridget says no, she's fine, she'll call dad. Susan gives her the casserole and says Bridget knows where she is if she needs her. Susan goes, Bridget shuts the door and Declan reappears. They're both shocked.
Declan asks Bridget how her mum is. She says she's never seen her so upset. He has, when it was her in hospital. She agrees that must have been hard for her. ‘For all of us' says Declan. They exit and Steve goes into the room with a drink for Miranda. She says all the time she spent being angry with Nicola was such a waste of energy. Steve says it took a lot of guts to forgive her. Miranda says she jut wants to be loved, and not alone. Steve says it's the way she goes after what she wants he has a problem with. She says it's her sister, and she should have known last night something was wrong when Bronte was brought home. Steve says she couldn't have known, but she says she should have searched for her then.
5549 Bridget has arrived with Declan, bringing a box of familiar things for Nicola. Miranda asks what happened to the cake, and Bridget has to pretend that she and Rachel ate it. Miranda isn't impressed. Steve sends Dec and Didge off to get some coffees. Steve asks Miranda what they'll do when Nicola gets better, just as her eyes begin to flicker open. Miranda promises Steve that she won't let Nicola hurt them again.
Later, Bridget discusses with Declan that it's very "convenient" that Nicola should have forgotten all the family and the trouble that she's caused. Declan can't believe that she would fake it, but Bridget reckons that it's exactly the kind of stunt she'd pull. Declan asks Didge what she's going to do.
BRIDGET: How hard would it be to fake amnesia? Miranda is shocked, but Bridget says it's what they're all thinking. Karl manages to escape the family drama, but Declan does not. Miranda is angry that her family is being so unsupportive and demands that Nicola has her family's support.
5550 Bridget is whinging about the stupid movie on the TV, and Declan wonders why she's all cross and stroppy. She tries it on with kissing, but he demands to know what's wrong. She admits she told Nicola everything, which is why she didn't want her back here at their house. And she's now wondering if she just really screwed up by torturing a woman in intensive care. Declan tells her that she stuck up for her family and that's what matters the most.
The Parkers come home looking for Bridget, who is in her room with Declan. They come out, having so blatantly been up to something. Miranda tells her daughter that she's just come from seeing Nicola at the hospital. Steve suggests that Declan leaves, and Declan sensitively does just that.
5551 The teens and random extra teens stand in a queue waiting getting into Charlie's. Didge is ecstatic, unlike Declan and Rachel, to find out that its The Veronica's Steph as lined up for Charlie's. Didge reassures Rachel that Ty will be there.
Didge tells Declan to get Zeke and Ringo to the bar because Rachel is the 3rd wheel even though she denies it. Eventually The Veronica's come on and perform their new song – "This love". Ty appears and Rachel smiles at least!
Declan and Bridget are making out as they leave Charlies, they both decide to leave together and obviously get up to..you know what.
5556 Declan stops by to given Didge some moral support as she wonders why someone in her family could have done this to her dad as she sits watching him. She gets a bit woozy when she stands up and Declan orders her outside for some fresh air.
Their walk has taken them to the store but despite Declan's best jokes Didge isn't interested in the cake she's bought until he spoon feeds her it.
5557 Outside, Nicola bumps into Didge and Declan and scares Didge when she sobs that Steve's gone. Didge frantically runs into the hospital and orders Declan to restrain her aunt. Declan struggles to hold on as Nicola puts up a fight. Didge finds her mum and hugs her, distraught over her dad, but is confused when the doctor emerges from Steve's room and says he's going to be OK. They rush in to see him. Declan is trying to call the police while keeping a hold of Nicola, but she keeps screaming out for help. A do-gooder comes along and demands Declan let Nicola go. Forced into it, Declan reluctantly complies but snarls that the do-gooder has no idea what he's just done. Nicola sprints away as fast as she can. The doctor informs the Parkers that Steve's in a stable condition, but Miranda is more interested to learn that Nicola was at the hospital. Declan arrives with the bad news that Nicola has vamoosed. Miranda isn't sure that the cops will have enough to charge her sister with, and Toadie agrees that they'll need more substantial evidence. Getting a bright idea, Didge angrily drags Declan away to “do the cops' job for them”.
Didge is slamming her way through all of the lockers, looking for the plastic takeaway container that Nicola's lasagne was in. Without even raising a sweat, Declan spies the towel trolley, looks underneath and finds the container that seemed to have eluded the Erinsborough police. God they suck.
Didge and Declan show the container to Miranda and Toadie and Didge explains that Ringo saw Steve eating out of it. Toadie wants to take it to the police, but Miranda suddenly decides she's above the law and grabs it off him: she's going to confront Nicola herself. Yes, because that's worked so well in the past.
Nurse Jodie encourages Didge and Declan to talk to Steve. Didge is unsure of what to say, so Declan quietly starts to sing the Dingoes team song. Giving him a watery smile, Didge joins in (earning a hilarious, ‘WTF's going on?' look from the random doctor extra in the background).
Miranda has just finished telling Didge and Declan about Nicola's arrest and the fact that the cops believe she's insane. Frustrated that Steve hasn't woken up yet, Miranda walks over and gives her hubby a stern talking to. When that fails to work, she takes his hand and pleads with him to wake up. Miraculously, Steve gives Miranda's hand a squeeze. Didge rushes over to see for herself as they keep encouraging him to wake up. Declan grins at them.
5560 Lou is telling Bridget that Miranda is trying to focus on something good for Steve right now, but she's all snappy, and even has a go at Bronte. Lou decides to take Bronte out for a walk, whilst Declan – on the sofa with Bridget – asks her what's wrong. Bridget says that Bronte reminds her of Nicola. DIDGE: Nicola's in a psych ward, my dad's in hospital, and all my mum can say is ‘let's go dancing.' Declan thinks Didge should talk to her dad, but she thinks that Steve should focus on getting better. Bridget wonders why Declan hasn't gone to footie training yet...he replies that he loves it, but not since his mum became the coach...
Declan is explaining to Steve that Bridget's worried about Miranda being too positive, and that she doesn't want to burden her dad with it. Didge comes in and realises that Declan has told her father. Steve reassures his daughter that their family will not fall apart. Cut to later by the bed where Didge has picked up a DVD on dance instruction – Steve needs to pick up some tips before the first dance lesson. He watches the screen and instructs Declan and Didge on what to do. STEVE: Your fingers rest against her back. Her back, Declan. Her back. They dance round before kissing so Steve reminds them that there's a parent in the room. He watches his daughter and her boyfriend dance when Miranda comes in and looks on, smiling.
Ringo, Declan and Zeke have come to see Steve with a footie update. Miranda and Didge are also there. Steve wonders if the boys are ready for the game, and they are; Miranda tells them that Steve needs his rest, now. They and Didge chant the ‘Erinsborough Boys' chant on the way out. I wonder which writer had the pleasure of making that song up.
5562 Didge is relived to see that Declan is alive and well even if he is moaning about not being outside playing. She tells him to stop being a star and to focus on the next kick and listens in as Ringo reminds the team what they've not been doing as they enter for the half-time break.
5568 DECLAN: Just quietly guys, I reckon you'd have been better off with the cops. Karl says ‘do you mind?' and Bridget drags Declan off.
Bridget and Declan come in and find Steve is buying ingredients to make a cake. Declan asks what they're celebrating. Steve says they're sending Nicola away to a psych unit. (Lia's note: dont you just love the tight nit family unit of the Parkers HAHA) Bridget tells him something good came out of it, she wants to study medicine. Declan complains he'll never see her. Steve seems impressed but tells her she'll have to work hard at her exams. She worries that he doesn't think she can do it. He's impressed with her compassion and gives her a hug.
5569 Rachel and Donna have sat down to debrief with Didge and Declan, who can't believe Ty could be such a creep. Ty walks in and lets Rachel know he can't see her later because he's working an extra shift at the bar. All the teens look annoyed on her behalf, and Rachel distantly replies that it's fine. DECLAN: (about Ty) Wow... That was cold-hearted.
5571 Declan remarks to Didge that their baby looks like cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (Lia's Note: wonder what he thought Indy looked like when she was born?)
5572 Didge (and the plastic baby from hell) walks out to wish Declan luck. DECLAN: How's Midget? DIDGE: Paris. An irritating, fake bobble-head? Yeah, I can see the similarities now. (Lia's note: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
5573 Donna is upset because he just left the baby with her as he showed off to the football groupies. Bridget tries to shush her, but it's too late. Donna says ‘we' saw them with the skanks. Declan realises Bridget was there too.
She looks starry eyed at him, but Rachel and Bridget pull her back saying she's too busy. Declan tells Bridget she's got nothing to worry about where those girls are concerned, then gives her a kiss as the beeps go. The boys leave, the girls put their money together for the tests and Rachel is persuaded to go buy them.
5574 Bridget stares into her locker at photos of her friends and Declan, unaware that he is standing behind her trying to get her attention. He asks where she's been, and she doesn't answer but just hugs him. He wants to know what's wrong, but she remains silent and staring. Rachel and Donna arrive and assume she's told him. Declan wants to know what she's told him. She runs off. Donna and Rachel try to run after her but Declan pulls them back and demands to know what's going on.
Bridget has run off to the GS. Declan tries to call her, but she rejects the call.
5575 Declan sees Didge sitting in the stands and runs over to her and whisks her around. She smiles but then looks serious again. He asks what's up. She takes a moment and then. BRIDGET: I'm pregnant.
5576 Declan gets into his car and drives off despite seeing Didge coming towards him in his rear view mirror.
5577 They exit, passing Didge and Donna putting some filing away at the nurses' station. Donna asks if Didge is feeling better, “because you look like you're going to hurl”. But Didge only hurls out the, “I'm fine” spiel. Declan finds them and says he needs to chat to Didge, but Didge mutters that she's working.
But she does give them some peace. Declan starts to admit that he's done something stupid, but Didge feels dizzy again and promptly faints into Declan's arms. Panicked, he calls out for some help.
5578 Bridget is now in bed being comforted by Declan as Karl tells them she'll be OK. It's just exhaustion. Karl reveals to Declan that he knows she's pregnant, and leaves them alone. BRIDGET: I suppose you'd be happy if there was something wrong wouldn't you? DECLAN: I don't know, perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad thing if it was out of our hands. She orders him out, despite his protests that he wouldn't be happy about it.
Declan finds Zeke waiting for Bridget and apologises. Zeke clearly doesn't want to know. Declan says he's going to tell Bridget the truth. He goes into the room and asks her how she is. She says she's OK and so is the baby. He says he is ‘so sorry' and she puts her arms out for a hug, which he takes. He apologises again and Bridget says it's OK. He says it's not, he panicked. He is about to tell her but she insists it's OK. He's worried he's not dad material. She doesn't think she's mum material either, but they'll figure it out. She says she wants to tell her parents. Declan says he'll be there with her. Not yet she says, she wants to have one last day, going to the engagement party.
Bridget is staring out at the gorgeous view on her own. Zeke asks Declan if he's told her about Sharni yet. He hasn't, he says because Karl says she should have no stress. Zeke sarcastically snaps that it wasn't a selfish decision, and does Dec want him to lie? Declan says no, he can do what he has to, but his priority is to look after Bridget.
Rachel and Ty and Bridget and Declan are talking about the song when Zeke comes over and takes Declan aside. He reveals that Sharni is there. Declan brushes past him He tries to talk Bridget into going home. Just then Sharni comes over and says ‘Hey Declan'. Then she reveals that Declan was ‘all over me like a rash'.
5579 An upset Bridget arrives home accompanied by Rachel. Zeke encourages Declan to stay away, but doesn't succeed. Declan apologises to Didge, claiming that he was tired and upset, but Didge points out she is in exactly the same position as him, and she didn't go kissing any guys. Didge is shocked to hear that Zeke oversaw the kiss, but Declan explains that it didn't go any further, even though Sharni had asked him. Miranda and Steve arrive home in time to see Bridget push Declan away; she doesn't want anything more to do with him. Revealing to her parents the reason why, Steve encourages Declan to leave, while Miranda comforts her daughter.
Declan arrives home, and as a last attempt texts Bridget to ask if they can talk. Lying curled up on her bed, she replies instantly with a no, leaving Declan to stew. Miranda comes in to sit with her daughter, and comforts her with a hug.
Miranda and Steve bring some food through to Bridget and encourage her to eat, but she says she'd rather not. They leave her to lie back on her bed, listening to her mp3 player. With Miranda and Steve back in the kitchen, Declan jumps in through Bridget's window. He asks for her to listen, claiming he needs her. BRIDGET: You need me? I trusted you, and you humiliated me. Get out! DECLAN: I don't know what to do. Hearing the commotion, Steve re-appears and pulls Declan out of the room. Declan tempts Steve to hit him, but Steve resists. Miranda demands to know what is going on, so Declan tells Didge to tell her parents, but she refuses, claiming it was just a fight. Steve throws Declan out the door, demanding he doesn't come back.
Rachel, Zeke and Ringo are playing hand-tennis in the street when Declan comes storming down the Parker driveway. Climbing straight into his car, the others rush over to find out what's what, but he refuses to say anything. Hearing the car, Bridget comes rushing out of the house to try and stop him, but ends up crippling over in pain. Rachel yells to Zeke to call an ambulance, and Didge is forced to admit to her parents that she is pregnant
5582 but then Declan finally rocks up. He tries to barge through to see Didge, but when Didge emerges from the consulting room she barely even glances his way before letting the nurse know she needs to make an appointment for next Tuesday. DECLAN: Bridget what's going on? DIDGE: You left me when I needed you. I thought you were better than that. DECLAN: I am. I made a mistake. DIDGE: So did I.
Getting encouragement from Rachel and Donna, Declan approaches Didge to try and talk to her again. He admits he's been gutless - he doesn't even know how to be a decent boyfriend, let alone a decent dad. DIDGE: Do you think I know how to be a mum? DECLAN: Guess it's one of those ‘learn on the job' things, hey. DIDGE: Why did you come back? DECLAN: I realised that I want to be a dad. I might not be any good at it, but I'm willing to give it a try. DIDGE: (pausing) Me too.

5583 its Rebecca and Declan who is after Steve's help in treating the injured baby wombat. Declan drops the wombat into Steve's arms and tells the family that he knows they don't want him back. MIRANDA: You got that bit right. DIDGE: Will you just stop it. DECLAN: But I have a responsibility to Bridget and our baby and I know what you're thinking, that I've left it a bit too late. STEVE: That's exactly what I'm thinking. DECLAN: But running away isn't going to solve anything. (Taking Didge's hand) I made a promise to Bridget; I'm going to keep it. I'm the father of your grandchild and I'm not going anywhere so please just get used to it.
In Didge's room, Declan sits stroking Didge's arm but she is unresponsive to him.
Back in Didge's room, she tells him that she needs to be able to trust him which is going to take a while. “I know I'm a tool” is Declan's reply and a promise to never leave her again when the going gets tough. And to prove that he is serious, he removes the ring pull from a tin of juice and proposes to her, placing the tab on her left ring finger. DIDGE: (laughing) You're such a dag. If we do ever get married, I'm going to need a way better ring.
5585 Didge greets Declan (and Chloe) at the door. Rebecca has put Declan on dad duty again, so he's spent the whole morning with her. Didge wonders if Declan's worried about going to school, but Dec says that if anyone bothers them, they're idiots. Steve walks in and asks how Chloe is. DECLAN: Yeah, good. We had a bit of action in the Jackson before but we're all cleaned up and ready to go. Aren't we? STEVE: What, you changed her? DECLAN: Yeah. Eww. The kids head off to school, planning to drop Chloe back at #24 on the way. Didge exits first and Steve stops Declan. STEVE: Dec... DECLAN: Yeah? (Reading Steve's worried look) I know, I'll look after her.
Didge and Declan arrive they complete the teen gang hexagon. Carmella wishes Didge good luck for her return to school, and Donna makes her even more uncomfortable by announcing that Elle sends along her well-wishes too.
Didge walks around to collect the essays, but the class erupts into laughter when Dan discovers a cartoon on the board of Didge pushing a pram-full of babies. Justin guffaws (and also manages to stick a ‘Baby On Board' sign on Didge's back), before Declan sees red and roughly hauls him around the classroom. Dan rushes over to break them up and Declan gives Justin an evil death stare.
Declan nearly goes him again - just as Andrew sticks his head in the door to see what all the ruckus is about. Dan assures him he's got it under control. Declan snarls that Didge has been scared stiff of coming back to school because of idiots like Justin, but this makes Didge upset and she runs out of class. Declan tries to go after her but Dan orders him to stay put.
Elsewhere, Declan finds Didge and apologises for acting like a dropkick. Didge says she's just sick of being the #1 topic of gossip at school. She just wants to fade into the background. Declan promises to be good and they kiss. Seeing them, Justin does his usual idiot routine and stirs them up.
Didge waits with Declan and Steve in the hallway while Dan and Andrew discuss the matter in the classroom. DIDGE: I'm sorry you've been dragged down here. DECLAN: You know, Steve, it wasn't her fault. DIDGE: Not that that's an excuse. I know I was completely out of line. STEVE: You bet you were... Even if bloodnut did deserve it, ay.
5586 Didge organises things with Declan, Donna and Rachel to get the schoolwork she is missing covered. She looks rather lost in the school playground alone as the others head into class when the bell rings.
Didge is bemoaning at not being involved in the talks to get her back to school but Declan is worried about what Nathan said to him to pay much attention to what she is saying. She has a dig at him for not paying attention but he spells it out to her that if he makes it into an AFL club he can provide for the 3 of them rather than having to drop out of school and flip burgers for a living. DECLAN: Come on Didge. You complain about adults running your life but can you imagine what it would be like if we can't support ourselves? They'd be all over us.
Didge tells Declan that she is still excluded and that she has gone to the papers to tell her story. He is surprised that she did it without consulting him and puts a different slant on it – that clubs may not be willing to take him on due to the bad publicity. “We're cactus” he cries into a cushion when Didge makes it clear that they can't stop Paul running with story. She has a dig at him for giving her stick; she'll get enough of that from elsewhere for being a teenage mum. DECLAN: It's not what I think; it's what everyone else thinks. DIDGE: Exactly. DECLAN: … DIDGE: Hey this baby is ours because we love each other not because we made a mistake. Am I right? They are in the kissing and make up stage when the Steve and Miranda arrive home, still talking about what she did. Didge notices the smell and enquires about it. MIRANDA: A bin spilt. I spilt it. STEVE: Yes all over your Principal. Everyone has a laugh over it and Miranda cheers Steve up by saying that they don't need to look for new jobs either because the books at the surgery are looking better. While they head off to shower, Didge asks Declan not to say anything about her interview with Paul.
5589 Declan arrives and immediately lays into Bridget asking if she's crazy, his career is going to be over. She explains that it was Donna's idea. Lucas tries to snap shots of them. Andrew Simpson comes out of the building to see what's going on and doesn't look too pleased. The police arrive so Declan and Bridget make a sharpish exit.
Bridget wishes they'd stayed around a bit longer, but Declan says they could have got arrested and that would have been something for the paper. BRIDGET: Hey, I didn't ask for this you know. DECLAN: Yeah, I know. BRIDGET: Well you're talking to me like I wanted people to line up there. Like I got expelled on purpose. Stop treating me like the enemy Declan. He leans forward and kisses her asking if he'd do that to the enemy. She hopes not because he'd get very confused. Declan starts to explain that he's just worried about his footy stuff when he is cut off by Miranda arriving home. She's glad to see that Declan is starting to take some responsible decisions for them both and wonders if they should be encouraging him to hang around more. Declan has been having thoughts on that matter and wonders if they should move in together. Bridget agrees straight away, but Miranda thinks it's a terrible idea.
Declan (cuddling the uber cute wombat) interjects saying that he wants to be around for Bridget as much as possible and it's difficult when he's living across the street. Miranda says they're so young and there's a lot of organisation that goes into running a house and the rental market is tight. MIRANDA: You're hardly a landlord's idea tenants. DECLAN: Well, maybe I could live with you guys. BRIDGET: Brilliant! DECLAN: Yeah, nobody moves out of their parents' house until they're well into their twenties anyway. Bridget says that they'd pay rent and buy food and Miranda would still get to nag her. Miranda still looks unsure.
5593 All the teens (minus Rachel) are trying to set up a new double bed for Declan and Didge - in the lounge room. And this will fit through the hallway how? They're also having quite a lot of trouble following the DIY instructions.
Steve walks in and is quite disturbed at the thought of his little girl sharing a bed with a big bad boy (bit too late now, pumpkin). Didge asks him to help them out but he makes up some excuse to vamoose. Declan then declares that it's food time as Didge asks Donna if her dad seemed weird to her.
Declan brings back some chocolate bars for everyone that he found hidden away, but Didge freaks because they belonged in her dad's secret stash. Declan tries to take them back but the guys have already scoffed them.
General Store The teens have stocked up on replacement chocolate for Steve but Declan isn't sure if they have the exact same ones. ZEKE: It's not a good way to start with the in-laws, mate. Declan claims that he doesn't care and starts to pash with Didge
5595 Steve asks Miranda if Bridget and Declan are up. He also asks if she heard anything going on in their bedroom but is quickly shushed by Miranda as Declan and Bridget come out. As Steve leaves, Bridget starts scoffing down cornflakes. Miranda says she needs to eat something healthy and asks if she's seen the preservatives in them. Bridget doesn't particularly care. Miranda gives her a list of foods she can't eat. Declan ask why she can't eat salami and we learn it has listeria? Declan says she going to have a tough time at the rafting camp which Miranda doesn't yet know about and says no. She'll be in her second trimester and Declan agrees. Bridget looks at them surprised.
Pregnant Bridget is looking at her unbelievably flat stomach in the mirror in the girls changing rooms as Declan walks in. She has a go at him for walking in and feels like he's stalking her and that she's public property. She complains how people are telling her what to eat and Declan says she's not going to like what he's brought her for lunch: salad. Declan doesn't know what to do seeing as everything has listeria. Bridget says she hates her mother. Declan says he got extra mayo. Bridget seems delighted! Declan starts to say about which different types are ok and stops and apologises when he sees the look on Bridget's face. She ups and leaves but just before she gets out of the door Declan asks when she's free. BRIDGET: Never. DECLAN: No, no I meant work. BRIDGET: I know. She leaves Declan very confused. Cue confused face number 2.
Bridget arrives home to Declan who's cuddling the wombat and feeding him. He asks if she wants one last hug with him before he goes to the sanctuary. Declan puts on a cute face whilst bottle feeding him. Bridget asks does he not think she's going to get sick of babies but he continues to stare at her. She tells him to give her the baby wombat. She holds him and feeds him as Declan watches her. She says he's pathetic and they smile.
Bridget's still holding the baby wombat, wishing she could keep him. Declan says she's going to make a great mum and adds how Steve's not happy about Declan and Didge sharing a bed. Bridget tells him that Steve wants her to be his little girl forever. Declan understands where he's coming from and Bridget does too. Speak of the devil Steve comes in! He sees Bridget holding the wombat and takes him away from her asking if he scratched Bridget. She says no and asks what's wrong. He says the wombat carries toxicoplasmosis which can harm the baby. He says she shouldn't be around sick animals and she should stay away from the clinic too. BRIDGET: Why don't you just lock me up in my room for the next nine months? STEVE: Good thinking. Bridget says its not funny so Declan says he's just playing but she tells him to shut up and then tells her dad to shut up too.
5596 Didge exits from a ferry and calls Declan who has been up all night worrying. He tells her that her parents will go ape when they find out and she tells him that she needs space but will be back soon, its something she has to do.
5597 Didge is on a pay phone to Declan, telling him about the pesky backpackers. Declan begs Didge to come home, but she says she's got more thinking to do yet. Overhearing, Steve grabs the phone and demands to know where she is so they can get her, so Didge hangs up.
5598 Didge rushes into Declan's arms as he softly tells her never to do that to him again.
5601 Zeke, Didge & Declan check out their boat for the rafting trip, while Declan wonders how Zeke is getting on the trip given the suspension he has hanging over him but their attention soon changes to other things as they spot Andrew walking up Ramsay Street with a bunch of red roses in his hands.
Didge ticks Declan off for investigating the KK's pressies as a stunned Rachel enters the livingroom to tell them that the record guy (Hamish) wants to sign her! “Whoa” is Declan's response and “that's awesome” Didge's.
5604 Bridget seems to be doing some sort of hail to the sun. Declan joins her and asks if her parents are okay with the whole birth parent thing. She says yes, but doesn't take his silence as encouragement. DECLAN: I just sometimes think it isn't good to dig up the past. Bridget has a lightbulb moment remembering Declan's dad. She says it won't be the same and her parents are entirely behind her. Dec wonders if they'll feel a bit rejected. Bridget is annoyed and walks away. Zeke, Kyle and Justin snigger at Declan, who rolls his eyes at them. Later, Kyle approaches Bridget and says that if she's over Declan, she can share his tent. She tells him to drop dead. KYLE: Aw, come on. At least we know you get freaky. Enter Declan all guns blazing. BRIDGET: Dec, I'm handling this. DECLAN: What did you say to her. ZEKE: Back off Dec. DECLAN: Shut up Zeke who cares what you have to say.
5605 Kyle, Justin, Zeke and Didge are allocated to one raft, with Libby filming. Declan isn't happy, and says that he wants Didge in his raft with him. Seemingly left with no choice, Bridget grudgingly agrees. Declan, Ringo and Donna will be in another raft with Andrew filming. With Bridget still looking hacked off at Declan's protectiveness, he reminds her that he promised Steve he'd look after her.
Bridget changes her mind, and asks Andrew if she can get into the raft she was originally meant to be in. He agrees, and whilst Declan is cross, he wants his girlfriend to be safe, and makes her put her helmet on
Declan goes to launch himself into the water, but Andrew pulls him back, telling him not to be stupid. Dec screams for Bridget again, and they all call out for Libby and Zeke.
5606 Commercial break over and we head back to see Declan out searching for Bridget and calling out her name. He spots a water bottle floating at the water and then hears a noise and turns round to find Didge. Scrambling back up the embankment he hugs and kisses her both relived to see each other.
Steve and Miranda are relived to see Didge walk into the tent with Declan and hug her immediately. She asks about the others and is told about Zeke and Libby being missing.
Olenski finishes taking a sample of blood from Didge and gives her the go ahead to have something to eat. This is just as well because Declan comes in with the food he brought but to her annoyance, doesn't give her the food she wants, instead telling her to drink the OJ and eat a banana first.
5607 Declan and the Parkers are crowded around Didge's bed when Dr. Olenski pops in to tell them that the baby's OK. Things get awkward when Dr. Olenski wants to know about Miranda's medical history, specifically when she was pregnant with Didge, and Miranda quickly states that Didge was adopted. Dr. Olenski apologises and says in that case they'll just have to run some tests since there's no medical record to consult.
Didge is looking at photos from the rafting trip on her mobile when Declan walks in and squeezes her to death in a bear hug. Didge then wonders if she should try and find her birth mother because of the baby.
Didge tells Declan that she doesn't want to hurt her parents, but Declan thinks the Parkers should understand the need for it now after the accident.
Declan mutters to Didge that her parents aren't taking this adoption thing well at all - he thought Miranda was going to run over a cyclist on the way home. Miranda bustles about the kitchen trying to get everyone to eat, but Didge only wants to talk about her birth mother. Declan and Steve escape into the backyard to give them some space.
Didge goes into the lounge room to get some stamps. Declan asks if she's nervous, and Didge doesn't answer, but she looks a little uneasy about posting the letter so Steve does the honours for her.
5609 Didge and Declan come to join the party, they make straight for the food and start to mess about. Dan asks Libby if she can see the two of them as parents and Libby thinks Bridget and Declan will make good parents
5611 Declan and Didge arrive after hearing news that Zeke might be alive and Susan tells them to head into Zeke's room where Ringo and Rachel are before resuming the chat with Karl. Karl thinks that someone must know where Zeke is and Susan asks “why he would do something like this?”
DECLAN: Yes but this is crazy, Zeke's not Jason Bourne. Didge agrees with Declan too – there is no way that Zeke could have planned it, so Rachel asks who's been using Zeke's bank account? “I don't know his PIN. Nobody knows his PIN” she says before spotting Zeke's computer and remembers that she knows the password to get into it
Declan gives her the complements that she'd probably hoped go get from Ty when he arrives with Didge.
Declan and Didge try to console Ringo as they play pool while at the bar, Rachel shows off to Ty more clothes (a jacket this time) and suggestively says he can take it off later. Karl interrupts her chat to ask for some pictures of Zeke to help find him, which she agrees to, but before she does she spots Ringo and asks where Donna is. “Who” is his reply and Didge cuts her off to suggest that they pay her a visit and doesn't take too kindly to Didge asking how she is.
5615 Rebecca is walking up her driveway with Dec and Didge when Paul calls out to them. Sighing, Rebecca heads inside while Paul makes an offer to Declan. He wants to do a profile piece on up and coming footy stars, and adds that the fee would be a nice little baby bonus for them. Declan rightly wonders what's in it for Paul, but Paul insists that Declan will always be important to him. On a completely unrelated note, Didge's hair is looking really nice today and not its usual unruly self.
Dec and Didge have breakfast with Rebecca and tell her about Paul's offer. She's hesitant, but knows it would be good for Dec's profile. Lou reckons they should ask “Lois Lane” about it (aka Elle), but when Elle joins them she assumes they're talking about her father blackmailing Rebecca into splitting up with Andrew. Declan's ropeable and immediately heads out with Didge.
5616 Didge reminds him though, before leaving with Declan to see Donna, that there was a note left on top of the recycling which she took as him having read it.
DECLAN: Was it just me or was that totally weird? DIDGE: Totally (Takes a picture of Declan) Wow your eyes are so brown their like..gravy... the others begin to smile.
Steve stews in the kitchen as Rebecca is bonding Didge over her pregnancy and what the baby moving feels like. Didge and Declan depart again (to help Rachel after another text from Donna) and Steve just stares at her (he's moved to where the kitchen and livingroom meet).
Declan and Didge arrive home to the surreal situation and he is told by Steve to put Rebecca's bags into the spare room (hello what spare room!!!).
5620 Didge is anxious at still not hearing back from the department about her birth parents and Declan tires to reassure her that nothing has happened to her application but they'll give the department a call later.
Declan then gets ready to punch him despite Didge trying to stop him but Kyle is a spent man and indeed tells, almost begs, Declan to hit him. This causes Declan to put his fists down and Kyle walks away.
They head upstairs and Declan finds where Didge went to and catches her as she finishes a call on her mobile – she was calling the department and tells him that her application can't be cancelled as they've already made contact with her birth parents.
Steve comes home and hands Didge a letter from the Department of Human Services. She wants him to get rid of the letter but he persuades her that it's a decision she has to do herself. “What do I do” she asks Declan. Later, Declan asks is she wants him to open it or get rid of it. “I want to know” she says but is fearful for her parents. He reminds her that they said they will support her. DECLAN: Can you handle not knowing? That gets to her and she opens the letter and begins to read. DIDGE: They said no. DECLAN: No? DIDGE: My birth parents, they said they don't want to meet me.
5622 Declan and Didge let Donna and Ringo know that the new family will be arriving next door any minute now. Random Sam randomly lets them know her back's killing her so she won't be joining them. Thanks random Sam! Tegan looks alarmed and says she'll sit out too, but Donna encourages her to check out the newbies.
5623 Dec and Didge join him and they talk about Zeke – they can no longer pretend he's still alive, and it's all weird. Declan and Bridget have to go
At number 28, Ringo is back home, and Susan announces that they're going to clear Zeke's room of his things. Didge, Dec and Donna are all there to help.
5625 He then reminds her that they are going to the ultrasound and sends her off to change as the now arrived Didge, Declan and Rebecca argue over what the sex of the baby is going to be.
The arguing continues as they wait for their appointment with Declan so sure they are having a boy because he's been communicating with tadpole. Steve joins in the fun too but Miranda has a right face on her and tells them to ask the doctor to confirm it, and in unison Didge and Declan say “no”.
DECLAN: That's our kid. DIDGE: I know!
Declan and Didge yell at them to leave and Miranda tries to put the kybosh on them watching the DVD again by opening the curtains when she finally comes through from the kitchen. They resume watching it when she gets ready to leave and in the kitchen, she overhears them hoping that they don't turn out to be hard core parents! As they watch the DVD, Declan remarks that he wouldn't mind if they had a girl as long as she turned out like her and Didge wonders if her birth mum saw something like this, why did she give her away.
5626 Didge has had a result from the PI and just as she is about to open the envelope with the info, Miranda comes in looking for Steve. Neither of them has seen him and she departs to continue the hunt and Didge finally opens the envelope to find out that a Joanna Hale is her mother and she was born at St. Michael's hospital, NSW. Declan asks if there is a number for Joanna but Didge replies that will cost more money.
On her quick lunch break, Didge shows Declan a list of things they need for the baby (which he thinks is well OTT and mostly unnecessary) and he tells her to use the money for the investigator, not the baby.
Declan comes into the gym to show Didge the things he is planning on selling to help get the money for the PI. Didge isn't keen on doing at all because she'd rather concentrate on the future not the past therefore using the money for baby things. He reassures her that her parents will come round and she tries to sound convincing in that finding her mother doesn't matter because she has him and her parents.
Declan arrives carrying loads of $50 notes – he's secured a loan against the car and will get a part time job to pay it off. Eventually she hugs him and calls him the best when he assures her that the money is going towards baby things too and not just the PI.
One thing is now off the list – a pram that Steve has just bought and is showing off to his wife and daughter when Declan returns. Steve and Miranda disappear off to different parts of the house and Declan hands Didge a piece of paper that contains her birth mother's phone number. Didge tells him to put it away for now because she isn't ready to make the call.
5628 Declan and Callum are playing on the Wii, and Dec suggests they start doing some work because Bridget will know if they have been cheating. CALLUM: She'll never know! DECLAN: Dude, she can see through walls. Bridget comes in, and the boys rush to look studious. She realises they haven't been working. CALLUM: Dude, you're right, totally through walls...okay, the truth is that Dec's been telling me how you used to tell him to pick up chicks. DIDGE: Is that right? Didge wonders which chick Cal's interested in, but he's not giving it away. He will, however, go and practice his Italian in the mirror. Amused, Dec and Didge wonder if their kid will turn out like Callum. Bridget pulls out the phone number of her birth mother again, thinking.
Declan, Didge and Callum arrive to see Harold, and Didge remembers that Harry looked after her when she was alone. Miranda hopes their being there will make a difference.
5630 Having managed to keep the number, Didge debates with Declan whether to call or not but he picks up the phone and hands it to her and urges her to call otherwise she'll always be wondering. She decides to call and Declan leave so she can phone but before she gets a chance to, Steve arrives and she correctly guesses that he knows.
Declan tells Didge to stop worrying about her olds as she observes them sitting in silence from where she is playing darts with Declan.
5632 Didge wonders if Zeke will remember them, but Declan doesn't think it's likely. Didge then sees the blue car of stalkerdom down the end of the street and sprints towards it, calling the driver a gutless jerk, but the car speeds away. DIDGE: Now I'm scared.
Declan and Didge are snuggling on the couch, but Didge can't stop thinking about the creepy stalker. Declan reminds her they've unplugged the phone and called the police, so they should be safe. DECLAN: Everything is under control. DIDGE: That's what they thought in Nightmare On Elm Street. DECLAN: Freddy Krueger can't drive. He's got all those razor things, they'll get in the way. Jake suddenly starts barking at the front door so Declan goes out to investigate, returning with a parcel and a card addressed to Didge. She opens it and reads the note - it's from her birth mother, Joanna, who simply says she's sorry. Didge opens the parcel and the teens are astounded to discover wads of cash inside (presumably all the hush money Miranda has sent Joanna over the years).
5633 Bridget and Declan count $12,000 from the package. Bridget says it's Joanna paying her to stay away. Steve and Miranda arrive wondering why they have tons of cash until Bridget shows them the card. She says she was too gutless to see her and asks how she can hate her so much; she doesn't even know her. Miranda tells her that they do and love her but Bridget goes to call her and Declan follows. Steve tells Miranda she's got to tell her. Declan hears this and stays behind to hear more. MIRANDA: Maybe she just needs a moment. STEVE: If you don't tell her, I will. Declan emerges, letting them know he heard. Miranda walks off and Steve changes the subject, asking Declan to help with the dishes. Miranda walks into the lounge to find Bridget sitting on the sofa. Bridget tells her she's ok. Miranda says they'd never do anything to hurt you. BRIDGET: Unlike some people.
Declan wanders in and Rebecca jokes with him asking if he as a hot date. Bridget walks in looking furious, looking at Declan waiting for an explanation. She says he's irresponsible and needs to lift his game but Declan comes out with his arrangement to meet Joanna and he's going to tell her to leave Bridget alone. Didge says it's her decision but Declan says she's been so stressed however he's not helping. He asks if she wants to go home but she doesn't know. She's scared. She wants to know how she sounded. We hear someone call Bridget's name and Joanna has appeared in the doorway. Break over and Declan says Didge has more courage that Joanna will ever have after Rebecca comments on their similarities. Rebecca says it takes a lot of courage to give up your baby. He apologizes. Rebecca asks if Miranda knows about this, which she doesn't, and wouldn't she want to know?
Joanna says how Declan, who is standing at the bar, is watching her every move and Bridget says he's looking after her.
5634 Bridget is talking to Declan about what happened, when in walks Joanna. She apologises, but Bridget isn't having any of it. She just wants her to take the money and get out of her life. Joanna tries to get her to keep the money, because it's for her and Riley. Bridget is angry at her and Miranda - they're are both liars. Joanna tries to get Bridget to see that Miranda loves her, but Bridget thinks she hates her. JOANNA: I was just like you. Exactly like you. Too young, too scared and just not ready. DECLAN: Okay, that's enough. (to Bridget) Don't listen to her. You are ready. We're ready.
5635 Didge is looking at an adoption and permanent care website on her laptop, but quickly shuts the lid when Declan sits next to her. She pretends she was on Facebook but isn't quick enough to stop Declan from having a look. DECLAN: Why are you looking at this? Haven't you already found your mother? DIDGE: It's not about Joanna. It's about us. (Declan looks confused) DIDGE: I'm putting our baby up for adoption.
Didge tries to convince Declan that adoption would make the most sense. They could have the life they planned on before the baby came along, and the baby would have proper parents who could take care of it better than them. Declan quietly broods before speaking. DECLAN: It should be us. We should look after it, we should love it. DIDGE: I can't, Dec. (He stands to leave) DIDGE: No, don't go. DECLAN: (angry) So that's it, huh? Decision made, who cares what I think. DIDGE: I thought that you'd realise that this makes sense. DECLAN: No, not me! AFL's not my dream, you are. You and this baby. Steve and Miranda walk in to see what all the commotion's about. Declan tells them that Didge is giving the baby up for adoption. The Parkers are shocked, but Didge warns them not to talk her out of it.
Declan walks in to find Didge asleep on the couch. She wakes up and says that she's not changing her mind. Declan looks hurt but replies that he'll work on it. He sits down next to her and hooks his pinky finger with hers to show they're still connected.
5636 Didge ignores a call from Miranda and doesn't want to talk to Declan either when he comes in to talk to her since she is ignoring his calls too. He reminds her that it's his child too and doesn't want to be frozen out by anyone before asking if anything else is wrong. DIDGE: I've got nothing to wear to the wedding. DECLAN: Is that what you're seriously worried about? You? Really? DIDGE: (tearily) I've been looking forward to it. I just wanted to go and have a good time and look nice and everything I wear just makes me look stupid and fat. Declan is quick to console her and says that she can wear anything.
Declan runs up to Didge and gives her the new dress he bought and she bluntly tells him about rejecting Miranda's offer to raise their child. He says that it isn't just her baby but his too and he wants a say and she reminds him that he promised to stand by her whatever she decided. DECLAN: I'll stand by us, Bridget us. That's me, you and our baby and that means me being a part of this. DIDGE: You don't get to decide that I have to be a mother. DECLAN: And you don't get to decide that I can't be a dad. Didge thanks him for the dress and walks off and the previously watching Rebecca comes over and says “that wasn't about the dress was it?”
Declan appears too and wants to know what these decisions are having caught the tail end of what Steve was saying to his wife. DECLAN: (walking into the middle of the room) These wouldn't happen to be about my kid would they? MIRANDA: We were going to talk to you. DECLAN: What when you've decide what is going to happen? DIDGE: Hang on let's get one thing straight. She doesn't get a say. DECLAN: She can still hear what I decided. Okay. This baby is not going to be given away. DIDGE: Declan, I've told you you don't to make the decision. DECLAN: If you don't want to raise this kid, I can't make you but its going to have a father and it's going to be me so if I have to I'll raise it by myself, on my own. Nobody is going to give away my child. So now you know my decision. DIDGE: You're saying the baby stays no matter what I'm feeling or what I want? DECLAN: No, I just don't want you to give it away. DIDGE: What if that is the only choice I can live with? DECLAN: Bridget I've made up my mind okay and its not going to change. DIDGE: Fine. Didge gets up off the sofa and moves towards the door and tells Declan to go. DIDGE: If that's the way you feel I can't live with you. DECLAN: Okay, fine, if that's the way you want it, I'll go. Miranda tries to get her to see sense but Didge is sticking to her guns – he's made his decision and has to go. DIDGE: Just like you, the baby's more important than me. Declan tries to say that isn't what he is saying and even Steve joins in just as Rebecca comes home and wants to know what is going on. “I've just asked Declan to leave,” she tells her and Declan fills her in on the rest when she asks why. Steve asks Declan to leave just for now as it may be best and he agrees to go. Rebecca decides to go too since it's the best thing [to do] under the circumstances despite Miranda saying they can work it out. REBECCA: It's a pity its came to this.
5638 Declan stares at his mum and is about to ask her to dance, but Didge is staring at Declan, who smiles and asks her to dance.
Didge and Declan are dancing, and Bridget apologises for kicking Declan out – she's angry at Miranda, not him. Declan tells her he's there for her and the baby, but Bridget crushes him by announcing that she hasn't changed her mind about putting their baby up for adoption.
5639 They are interrupted by Declan, who is asking about Miranda. He wonders if Bridget's okay and tries to hug her, but Bridget pushes him away. Declan then offers them a lift to drop Mickey off, and Bridget reluctantly agrees.
Declan and Bridget walk through the front door with Mickey. Bridget sends Mickey to bed, allowing Jake to sleep on his bed because she's too tired to argue. Bridget thanks Declan for the lift and starts to clean, however Declan urges her to sit down for a bit. Declan begins to clean and Bridget talks about her parents. Declan tries to talk about their relationship and when Bridget doesn't want to, he leaves.
5643 Declan runs past them, off to his assessment, and they wish him luck. Walking past the lockers, he sees Bridget looking really unhappy, but she says she doesn't want to talk about it. Ringo catches up with Declan – they need to leave for their AFL assessment now, or they'll be late. Declan tells his mate to go without him – he needs to do something first. Wandering around the corner, Declan sees Didge upset in the corridor. She tells him about her parents' divorce, and how this is one more thing on top of everything else at the moment. He hugs her, and reassures her that she and the baby will be just fine. Bridget wants him to get to his AFL assessment, so he runs off, past Rachel and Zeke on the way.
At a local park, Dec is kicking the ball around. He sees Didge coming over, clapping him. She calls him to her, and he cries on her shoulder about what happened with the AFL assessment. He really wanted to be someone. DIDGE: You are somebody. DECLAN: I've missed you. DIDGE: Me too. They kiss.
5644 Didge hangs up from a schmoopy phone call with Declan just as her mum arrives home. Didge wants to know if Declan can move back in with them, but Miranda's a bit hesitant - she was enjoying having Didge all to herself for a while. Didge agrees, but still wants Miranda to think about. Miranda says she will - just as long as Didge helps her out with her next interview.
5645 Declan and Bridget are at the lockers, she thinks Dec has been avoiding her, he reassures her and they head for lunch. Kyle notices Tegan's dress again and Simon squares up to him, Kyle grabs Simon and Dan breaks them up, as the boys are sent outside Libby takes Tegan into the office to give her a spare uniform.
Meanwhile, Declan, Miranda and Bridget discuss Ty as Steve stares at Miranda; Didge decides everyone is acting weird since the divorce.
5646 Declan, Didge and Ty arrive to update them on the search for Ringo and Zeke but Karl's mobile starts to ring – its Ringo. Answering the phone, a relived Karl asks where they are.
5647 Declan and Didge are attempting to study for a test, but Didge is too distracted thinking about her parents. DIDGE: Nothing like having a pregnant daughter to get your life on track. DECLAN: You don't seriously think this is your fault? DIDGE: I don't want to talk about it. DECLAN: Bridget, their problems aren't your fault. DIDGE: I said I don't want to talk about it. DECLAN: Why are you the only girl in the world that doesn't want to talk? DIDGE: I don't know, you're lucky I guess... Maybe if I could just stop wrecking their lives. DECLAN: I thought you didn't want to talk about it? DIDGE: I don't. Shut up. Unable to concentrate, Didge heads out to get some lunch. Declan says he'll catch up with her soon.
5648 Bridget and Declan are discussing what kind of movie they want to see, but he's very distracted. He thinks that his mum isn't really into Andrew, and he's worried for her – she's not even telling Andrew what she really likes or not.
5650 Ringo and Bridget are playing pool against Declan and Zeke when Karl arrives and Zeke tells him that he and Declan lost. Karl leaves and Ringo goes over to Zeke RINGO:I don't get you ZEKE:And you never will Zeke head over to the bar. Ringo wants another game but Declan thinks he should call it a night. Ty then drops a tray to the floor And Bridget thinks he shouldn't be working two jobs. Ringo says that it isn't right that Declan is not going to be at the footy club jumper presentation night the following evening
A few moments later the kids plus Miranda,Steve and Bridget are playing cut the cake (with a spoon) and Callum is taking his go but the cake slopes into it's side and as a forfeit, he dunks his face into the cake! Ty and Declan then arrive with Bridget telling Declan that he's late. Ty isn't so sure about singing but gives in Callum and Mickey head off to get the guitar.
The kids plus Declan, Miranda ,Bridget and Steve watch Ty singing his song which he finishes. Mickey thanks him. Steve then announces that the three legged race is about to begin in the backyard and they all race off. Bridget tells Ty he should keep the guitar as Ned doesn't want it. Ty says he doesn't want it and leaves leaving Bridget looking miserable and Declan comforting her.
5651 Declan and Zeke are studying for their Psychology SAC when Didge calls around to borrow some turps (she's been painting her bedside table). While Zeke heads outside to look, Didge and Declan have a mini-quibble about the baby.
Declan and Didge are cramming for their Psych SAC. DECLAN: OK, give me one example of controlled processing. DIDGE: Um, learning to drive, writing an essay, learning to dance. DECLAN: Bom-bow! DIDGE: That's right. DECLAN: Nup. I asked for one example. They fake chortle at one another as Dan crosses behind them to give Libby a present - or more accurately, a present for Grace. It's a pink suit thingie, and a onesie that says, ‘I still live with my parents'. Cute. Declan is distracted by the gift giving and ‘casually' asks Didge if she thinks they're having a boy or a girl. But Didge isn't keen to talk baby with him and heads off to school.
Out in the corridor Declan accidentally bumps into Libby, and just like fate we get to have both sets of parents-to-be having chats with one another. Dan and Didge talk about the nesting process - and how Didge is curious that she can still feel so maternal given the circumstances. While Declan and Libby talk about how clucky dads can be and coo over the pink thingie and the onesie. Didge walks by but her face falls when she sees how happy Declan is holding the baby bounty.
Didge dives into Declan's locker to retrieve more antacids when she discovers that he's stashed some baby presents in there. She's not impressed and strops off.
Declan chases after Didge to try and calm her down but they end up having a barney in the corridor. DIDGE: You know I feel guilty enough without you putting pressure on me. We agreed on this. DECLAN: No, we didn't agree about this. You decided. DIDGE: So you just go out and buy baby clothes? DECLAN: I don't know why I bought them, OK, they were just... DIDGE: Well we're not going to use them you know. DECLAN: I don't know. DIDGE: (yelling) So it's a waste of money! DECLAN: (shouting) Bridget I don't know, OK! This whole thing's been one way - your way. (Libby walks by in the background and looks startled but lets them be) DIDGE: We talked about this. DECLAN: You talked about this. DIDGE: It's my body. And you just go out and buy baby cardigans? DECLAN: It's my baby too. DIDGE: You said you wouldn't pressure me. DECLAN: You have your whole life planned out. What do I have?
5652 Adam is introduced to Didge and Declan (Zeke left to go call Susan about Libby) and encourages him to keep training after apologising for what happened at the party. They then leave to go sweeten things over with Ringo's teacher just to keep things onside.
Didge and Declan are shocked (but relieved) to hear about Libby from Zeke especially Didge as she though Libby just had indigestion.
Didge, Declan and Zeke come in looking for Ringo as they want to make a video message for Rachel however he can't do it today because he's promised the team that he'll be at the opening of someone's bar in Richmond.

5653 Bec answers the door to Bridget who asks to see Declan – but she realises that something's wrong.
Cut to later where Bridget stares at Libby in her room with Dan. Declan comes in to look for his girlfriend, and when their baby starts kicking, Declan asks to feel her stomach. He thinks perhaps they have a champion full forward in there. Bridget wonders if it's perhaps a can-can dancer.
Declan comes over to see Didge and is surprised she's not ready yet. Steve wonders what they're both up to, and Bridget says she has a surprise for Declan.
Cut to some time later where Declan and Bridget are walking to the lake, with a large clutch of helium balloons. Didge announces that they are going to let go of all the things that are holding them back. She's written things on each balloon. She lets go of her mum and dad's separation, Riley, Joanna. Declan reads the others: trying to be perfect, being stubborn, possessiveness and his AFL career. Bridget announces that since seeing Libby lose her baby she realises that they're so lucky that they have each other – and their child. DECLAN: What do you mean, like, we...? BRIDGET: Yes. We're a family. The three of us. Declan grabs his girlfriend for a hug, and as they watch the sky she lets go of the final balloons.
Luckily Dec and Didge come home to break the tension. They spring into the house and Miranda wonders why the good mood. They tell her parents that they're keeping the baby! Miranda embraces them in a big hug, whilst Steve stands, looking on proudly and a bit sad that he's not involved.
5656 Declan tries to put aside the nerves of starting his part time job at Lassiters by organising an Alien movie night for himself, Didge, Ringo and Zeke. When Ringo leaves (for training) and Declan (to start work) Didge admits to Zeke she is surprised to see him at the same movie marathon as Ringo.
5665 Declan is feeding the rabbit carrot sticks and when the rabbit doesn't eat it, he shoves it in Didge's mouth instead. Declan gives her a bit of trivia about rabbits giving birth up to 40 times a year, making Bridget cringe at the thought.
DECLAN: He knows Ringo. Might even go to our school. BRIDGET: But he must have some reason for wanting to remain anonymous. SUNNY: He's messing with peoples minds and I'm going to expose him.
Declan and Bridget are painting eggs on Easter Morning and Bridget gives Declan a bit of trivia this time, telling him painting eggs are a springtime fertility ritual dating back to Pagan times. Ben, Callum and Mickey come crashing in after racing each other and Bridget asks how church was. Callum thinks church was cool and, as Toadie, Miranda, Libby, Steph and Charlie walk in, wonders why they never go.
Didge notices there rabbits been digging and so does Declan in another spot. Declan goes ahead to look somewhere further away. Bridget finds Monty the Rabbit and gives him to Steve. Declan comes up to a sheet of metal and lifts it, stopping at what he's found under it. Bridget sees him and joins him. All she says is “Oh my God” shocked at what she sees.
Declan counts $20,000 in a bag they found under the metal and they mention it's a lot of money. Bridget thinks they should take it to the cops but Declan is tempted to spend it. Bridget states that it's not theirs and Declan says that they found it. Finders, keepers…
5666 And we begin this weeks episode with some bad news – the phantom lawnmower is back again and even louder than before as Declan sits looking at the money he found. Didge startles him and says they should hand it into the police despite Declan wanting them to use the money to buy baby things. She then ticks him off for obsessing about the money but their chat is curtailed when Mickey appears out of his room (Declan quickly hides the money under the nearby table) wondering if he's moved back in since he stayed last night. Dec explains that they had grown up secret things to talk about and when Mickey tries to dig further Declan says that he's too young to know this secret. Mickey gets his own back by refusing to walk Jake when Didge tries to get rid of him replying that if he's not old enough to know the secret then he's too young to walk the dog alone.
While Mickey plays on his Wii, Didge quietly hides the money in the drawer behind the sofa from where Declan had initially hidden it.
Ringo appears ready to start his first shift and in chatting to Rebecca, Didge and Declan, let's slip that he doesn't plan on returning to school. He confirms that Susan knows this which surprises Rebecca as she wonders why Susan didn't follow him. DIDGE: Probably because when he told her her head exploded. RINGO: I'm 18, it's my call.
Rebecca explains why she took Ringo on to Declan as they enter the store. She also says that the bar isn't doing too great but refuses his offer of help to make sure he does well at school so he can attend Agriculture College. DECLAN: (puzzled) Agriculture College? REBECCA: Yes, learn how to grow a money tree.
Declan has decided what they can use the $20k for – to help Rebecca over her financial troubles at the bar. Didge isn't happy at them giving dodgy money to Rebecca but they've got more things to worry about because when Declan goes to get the money it isn't in the drawer where she put it.
Commercial break over Declan is trying to get Mickey to tell him where the money is but he isn't budging until they explain where the money came from in the first place. Didge tries the sweetness and like approach and he concedes a little – he'll give them clues on where to find it. The sweetness and like Didge is annoyed and blackmails Mickey (by threatening to put his Wii controls into a basin of water) until he tells them. “You'll need a shovel” he says before all 3 of them leave the house.
Mickey can't remember where he buried the money but like all good pirates he made map with instructions on how to find it and X marks the spot five steps straight ahead, one to the left followed by 5 more straight ahead. Declan states the obvious – there is no signs of anything haven been dug. Didge has found where the earth has been moved and calls Declan over to dig it up and if looks could kill – Mickey would be replacing the money where it is buried! Final break over, Declan has safely dug up the money and Mickey swears he didn't touch any of the money and asks if he can accompany them to the police station. Declan tells him no so he departs to go and play sadly not with the traffic but with Callum and casually agrees to promise not to blab about the money before leaving. Declan still wants them to use the money (for his mum and tadpole) but finally agrees with Didge that they've got to hand it in when Zeke comes by to drop off some wrongly delivered mail. He immediately spots the bag containing the money and asks where they got it from. They want to know why he wants to know but Zeke has recognised the distinctive dragon on the front of it and tells them that it belongs to his sister, that is why.
5667 Zeke tells Dec and Didge he recognized the bag because he bought it for Katya for her birthday. Dec & Didge are stunned to learn that Katya was involved with crims before she left Erinsborough. Zeke warns them they can't keep the dosh or take it to the cops - they'll have to bury it where they found it.
Dec and Didge have to scrounge around for small change to pay for their snacks. Dec's not impressed considering the stash they had earlier
Didge wonders aloud to Declan and Zeke about what they could do with the money if they got it back. Dec and Didge head out, but Zeke's in the mood for some chips. I wonder if he's in the mood for some convicted criminal, too? Zeke flips out when Guy lurks up behind him and demands to know where Katya and the money are.
5672 Didge and Declan when Zeke decides he needs some fresh air. Didge doesn't dish the sympathy out though – telling everyone to quit their complaining.
Didge uses avoidance tactics to avoid talking to Declan but eventually she is forced to confess what's up – the play is going to collide with her due date. Dec reminds her that she can still be involved somehow, citing those that appear in the credits that Ten normally squash up so small that we can't read them outwith the cast. This pleases her and she invites him to stay the night. “I'll stay as long as you want me to,” he replies before hugging her.
Declan is treating Didge to a freshly made pancake breakfast and she casually says that she is going to expect this every day if he moves back in. Declan is happy to move back in and agrees to bringing her tea in bed every day.
5674 Didge and Declan chat to Elle and discover that she's trying to work out who Lost Boy is. Didge reckons that his identity should remain a mystery. Elle gets cranky with them and Declan figures out it's Lucas-related. Elle snits that they've got nothing to complain about - they're happy, in love and have a baby on the way. Dec and Didge are like, ‘Uh, hold the phone. We had footy and medical careers in mind before this baby surprise, so life isn‘t always mapped out‘. This gives Elle food for thought.
Dan, Libby, Steph, Susan, Didge, Declan and Miranda have all joined Toadie for a ‘farewell Bob' brekkie, which includes mini pizzas
5677 Rebecca, Didge and Lucas arrive (I guess Mickey‘s sucking back a beer at Charlie‘s) just as an ambulance pulls up. Elle directs the paramedics to where Declan is. Didge wants to follow them under the house but Rebecca tearfully holds her back. The paramedics tell Paul to bring Declan to them, so Paul drags him through the dirt to the entrance. The ambos get their equipment out and do their thing till Declan's heart starts up again.
Didge sits by sleepy Declan's bedside and talks to him, half-heartedly joking that he better not have done all this just to get out of the birth. DIDGE: You really scared me. I want you to be there with me every day for the rest of my life, Declan. You got it? (She tears up) No more dangerous activities. DECLAN: (rousing awake) Does that include changing baby nappies? Didge launches at him, relieved, just as Rebecca and Steve walk in. Rebecca squeezes Declan's face and gushes over her “beautiful boy”. STEVE: You gave us a hell of a shock, mate.
5678 Declan asks for a toasted sandwich in his hospital room, where Bridget, Miranda and Steve are. Steve offers to go and get it but Declan is insisting Bridget go to get it simply because she knows what he likes. Bridget suspiciously agrees and Declan suggest Miranda go with her. Didge wants to know what's going on and Declan says its nothing and just wants a sandwich. Bridget and Miranda leave giving Declan a chance to talk to Steve, who is wondering what that was all about. DECLAN: I need to ask you something. It's actually more of a legal requirement since Bridget's under eighteen but I'm asking for your permission to marry Bridget. Later on and Steve is looking out of the window, his back turned to Declan. Obviously nothing has been said as Declan asks him to say something. Steve starts talking about Bridget having nightmares when she was young. He would hold her in his arms, tell her he would protect her and she'd fall fast asleep again and she felt safe. Steve says as parents you always feel you need to protect your kid and keep them safe. Steve finds it hard to accept he's not the most important man in her life anymore. Steve gives Declan his permission and blessing. Miranda and Bridget turn up with a sandwich and Rebecca! Steve says they should leave Bridget and Declan to it and she throws him his sandwich and tells him to start talking.
Bridget says no to something and says she's not buying it. Declan says it's the truth. BRIDGET: You wanted advice on buying a puppy for Toadie? Declan gives in and asks her to sit with him. Bridget's scared there's something wrong with him and thinks he's dying. He giggles that she would be that drastic. Bridget asks what was going on. Declan says he didn't want to propose in hospital and he didn't even get a proper ring. He pulls out a key ring and puts it on Bridget's ring finger. He asks her to marry him. Bridget's literally speechless and she hugs him instead of saying yes. She nods to say she'll marry him. Aw!
5680 Declan is home from the hospital, and he and Didge fight over who will carry his bag to their room. The parents laugh at their kids, and there's a knock at the door – it's Paul. He is there for dinner, and Declan forgot to tell everyone that he'd invited Paul. No-one seems to mind, though, given that Paul saved Declan's life. DIDGE: He did give Declan the kiss of life.
Miranda, Steve, Declan, Didge, Rebecca and Paul sit around the table finishing up their meal. Paul compliments the chef (thinking it was Rebecca) and it turns out Miranda made the casserole. Does Miranda make anything *but* casserole?
KARL: Another thing: have the wedding in a park. That way everyone brings a picnic. STEVE: Geez, you're really good at this stuff, aren't you? Declan and Bridget look on in horror. Back in the kitchen Rebecca gives her son a big hug, and he assures her that everything will be fine from now on. Oh, plus he also has another ask – a BIG one
Declan has taken Bridget to Charlie's, and he's been doing some thinking about how this engagement doesn't really feel real. So he has a way of making it real: give her his grandmother's ring. Bridget thinks it's beautiful, but she can't possibly take it. Declan puts the ring on her finger: he loves her, and he's going to marry her. Bridget smiles.
Declan and Bridget return with his grandmother's ring on her finger, which delights Miranda no end.
5681 Declan is babbling on about speeches as he walks with Didge and finally she tells him to stop because he is doing her head in – she wants them just to concentrate on the baby for now. He asks if she no longer wants to get married but Didge doesn't answer that, instead telling him that she feels everything is out of control and it isn't her hormones speaking either! DIDGE: I'm sick of everyone not taking me seriously, it's like just because I'm pregnant I have no idea what I'm saying. “Okay” is his reply before adding “there are a whole load of people at Charlie's who love us” and he is going to the party and would really like her to be there too. DECLAN: Maybe it will help you decide what you want. Didge plays with her engagement ring before wiping a tear away.
Didge finally makes an appearance at the party and she admits to him that she's a mess. DECLAN: Do you love me? DIDGE: Yes I do.
Didge and Declan open their gifts but Rebecca wants to talk contracts with Paul.
5682 Didge is looking at a photo of her parents in happier times when Declan finds her. DECLAN: I think I've been a jerk. DIDGE: That's better than a psycho. That's what I've been. DECLAN: You're not a psycho... OK, maybe you are a psycho, but you're my psycho. Declan tells her that the reason he's so eager to get married is because he didn't have a dad growing up and just wanted to show Tadpole that it had two parents that loved it. Didge understands but reminds him that marriage didn't help her parents in the end. Declan says they'll try to make things work. Relenting, Didge replies that they'll get married if he wants it so much, but is deflated when he says no. DECLAN: We'll compromise. Maybe after Tadpole's born and everything calms down, OK? DIDGE: Declan... DECLAN: No, that's compromise Didge. And we're going to have to do plenty of that from now on. He gives her a kiss on the head and walks out leaving her quite despondent.
5683 Declan is setting the table as Bridget comments that Miranda hates the napkins he's using. Declan wonders why she has them if she hates them and should say so. Bridget thinks Steve gave them to her ad she doesn't want to hurt his feelings. Declan wants to use half of the ones she does like and half the ones she doesn't like but Bridget says to keep them all the same. Declan says she's turning into Miranda which Bridget takes to offence. Bridget points out that they're table napkins and an annoyed Declan slams them on the table and says he's not even hungry and goes for a walk. Bridget calls him to ask when he's coming back but the only answer she gets is the front door slamming.
Bridget is lying on the sofa, looking glum as Steve and Miranda watch on , looking sad for her as she stares at the ceiling. Declan just finishes making his best on the sofa and Steph leaves him be. He lies down with Harvey for company, also looking gloomy. Bridget is also with doggy company as she strokes Jake but still down in the dumps. She looks at her phone hoping Declan's going to call. Back to number 32 and Declan's staring up at the ceiling, still stroking Harvey and still miserable about Bridget. He sits up to take off his jacket and throws it on the other sofa. Bridget picks up another one of Declan's jackets and smells it for comfort. She puts it on and hugs it. Declan is looking at a photo of Bridget on his phone miserably and eventually flips the phone shut.
The boys turn up as the girls appear out. Bridget and Declan look at each other and then Bridget runs to Declan and hugs him, Donna meanwhile telling her to watch out for Tadpole. Declan is so sorry and she must think that he always walks off when it gets tough. Bridget thinks that he's sick of her never acting like a proper girl. She also says she loves him and he loves her back. Didge randomly asks for a piece of paper and Donna sarcastically replies that she bought her textbook out with her. Didge says to do it by text. BRIDGET: I Bridget Parker promise to love you forever. To try to understand you even when you're weird. Your turn. DECLAN: I Declan Napier promise to love you forever and respect how you feel. Even if it's psycho. There's a Y in psycho, right? ZEKE: It's after the S. BRIDGET: Spelling doesn't matter! DECLAN: Well, alright, well I'm done. BRIDGET: Ok. Ready? DECLAN: Yeah. BRIDGET AND DECLAN: Send! They kiss for a long as Sunny says it's so 2009 and Donna thinks it's the most romantic thing she's ever seen. The boys feel no emotion whatsoever apart from maybe hunger. 5686 Didge is also looking forward to going to camp because it's probably the last one she'll ever get to go on in her life once the baby arrives, so Declan promises that they'll have fun…
Didge kisses Declan bye to head to the dorm for a nap
Declan turns up at the hall… with Dan's jocks on his head much to the amusement of the teens. Turns out the teens are playing truth and dare and that was Declan's dare from Didge.
5687 Declan takes Didge aside for a chat to make sure she hasn't told Donna what Ringo said about her. Didge still wants to out him, but Declan knows Ringo didn't mean it - it was just a heat of the moment thing. Dan and Rebecca walk over to them.
5688 DECLAN: Well, I'll make my tuna surprise. BRIDGET: Can we order pizza? DECLAN: What's wrong with my tuna surprise? BRIDGET: Where do I start?
The Parkers, and Declan, are eating brekkie and Steve mentions how it's just like old times. Miranda offers him pancakes over the weekend and Steve accepts. He starts to say he likes Canadian Maple Syrup but Miranda states that she already knows after 21 years of marriage. Steve leaves for the surgery and Declan says to pretend he and Didge aren't there. Miranda leaves and Declan mentions they're getting on good but Didge isn't getting her hopes up.
5691 after Declan arrives to whisk Didge off for a date by the lake after giving her bunch of flowers and chocolate.
Didge likes Declan's surprise as they lie on a picnic rug eating the choccies. Both admit that whilst they're scared at impending parenthood, they are looking forward to Tadpole's arrival.
5693 Declan is explaining what happened to Didge and Bridget is saying the man who was driving could be mistaken. Either way, Paul lied to Declan. Declan sympathises with his mother but Bridget sympathises with Declan.
5696 Didge is trying to read The Taming Of The Shrew next to Jake the pooping machine, but can't stop staring at the papers her dad brought over. She flicks through them and starts to tear up. Declan is rummaging around Paul's room looking for some sort of clue when Didge rings his mobile. He's bewildered when she starts sobbing down the line. DECLAN: Are you OK? DIDGE: (crying) Just all this stuff with my dad, I think it's my hormones. I dunno, I was reading Shakespeare and I just... DECLAN: (majorly confuddled) Shakespeare? What? He tells her that he's coming home but Didge tries to compose herself enough to reply that she's fine. She just wanted to hear his voice. But it doesn't take long for the tears to overflow again and Declan says he'll be there soon.
Declan has arrived with food, sympathy and hugs for Didge. She bursts into tears again and goes on about how amazing he is and how she doesn't deserve him. She hates that he's bogged down with work all the time and feels guilty about being a burden. Wrapping her in a hug, Declan knows her emotional outburst is due to worrying about her mum and dad's problems. He sits her down and calmly says that everything will be cool. DIDGE: Do you still love me? DECLAN: What do you think?
Declan arrives at the tail end of the argument and Didge apologises for him being stuck in the middle of it all. Declan, however, has a solution to all of their problems - they should move out and get their own place.
5697 The teens are looking online at rental properties for Dec and Didge but they're all dumps. There's also the slight problem that Dec and Didge are broke. Donna moons over another letter that “Ringo” has written her. Changing the subject, Ringo points out the nicest dump to Dec and Didge and lets them know there's an inspection that afternoon. Didge has an obstetrician appointment, but Donna offers to take her (dragging Ringo along for the ride) so Declan can go house hunting.
Didge argues with Declan on the phone - she doesn't want him to do the graveyard shift no matter how good the money is.
Declan is glumly flicking through the rest of the photos he took on his phone when Didge arrives home. They each pretend that they like the house, even though it's a hole. Declan says the estate agent took a shine to him and that the house is theirs if they want it, but they eventually admit the house is gross and decide that moving out can wait.
5701 Didge and Declan spot Harry as they walk down the corridor she introduces herself. Kyle arrives and after seeing Harry isn't in uniform, makes a crack about his mum not telling him to wear his uniform if he wasn't in the play. Didge tries to get Kyle to go away to save Harry's embarrassment but he doesn't take the hint and Harry replies that he doesn't have a mum. Kyle disappears and Declan points Harry in the direction of the only his classroom and when he leaves, Didge wonders if Declan should tell Harry about how close he is to Paul. Dec replies no because he hopes to make friends with Harry first so that he doesn't hate him.
On the stage, Declan tells Didge he had a run-in with Harry and that she was right, he should have been upfront to him regarding Paul but things will be fine “as long as he pulls his head in” he adds.
Break over and behind the safety curtain, Dan tries to restore order but the boys still want to punch each other's lights out. Harry gets in first by pushing Declan backwards but in doing so, some of the stage scenery is interfered with – and everyone looks on aghast when something falls from on high and knocks Didge to the floor. Declan is quickly over to her and asks if everything is alright and she replies “no”.
5702 Worried Declan is holding Bridget's hand as she is on the gurney in hospital. Why there's a blurred border, I'm not quite sure. Karl is there too and gets to work.
Bridget is waiting nervously in bed as Jodie prepares the ultrasound and is very emotional. Declan is so sorry and says it's his fault but Didge tells him to concentrate on Tadpole. They start the ultrasound and luckily there's a heartbeat, which Bridget's so thankful for, but Karl and Jodie give each other concerned looks. Karl says he'd like to start a full ultrasound and other bish bosh hospital and emergency stuff. Declan wants to know what it means and Karl says the heartbeats faster than normal.
5705 Declan is working out whilst Didge sits eating an ice cream – a survival ice cream. She needs it because her parents are fighting. Declan wonders what's going on, and Bridget tells him that they keep hurting each other, and she can't bear it.
5706 Steve calls round to take the dogs for a walk and runs into Didge and Declan. He enquires how her wrist is (a bit tender) and she explains the absence of wearing a sling for it because at 8 months pregnant “it makes me look like the Sydney to Hobart yacht race!” Bronte escapes before the leash is on so he quickly departs to catch the dog, bypassing Rebecca as she enters.
Didge invites herself on the journey to the Northern Planes Airfield when she manages to get out of Declan where he was going and that Rebecca's call was from Paul, who Rebecca won't grass up to the police because she still loves him.
Didge and Declan arrive at the airfield to find out that it's too late – Paul has already left.
Declan has car troubles as they head back to Erinsborough and Didge sets off to get help since there is no phone coverage and he's in a mood. He decides to go with her when he sees Didge is going to go regardless and also because she had a Braxton-hick contraction.
Didge and Declan take shelter from the rainstorm in a church and ask to use a phone since their mobiles still aren't in range. “No room at the inn hey” jokes the lady but they don't get it. Turns out the lady is the organist and she offers to let them use the phone at her house (the vestry one is locked up and she doesn't have the key) once the storm has past and invites them to listen to her practicing to pass the time.
Didge chats to the organist (she was telling Didge about how she came close to getting married) while they wait for Declan to return from getting her some water. “He's a keeper that one” she tells Didge as she trades places with the now arrived Declan. Didge then has a brainwave – she wants Declan to marry her… right now!
5607 Declan doesn‘t think Didge is being serious, but Didge says that she loves him and that it feels right. They didn't stumble across a beautiful church for no reason. Declan murmurs that he should have just brought her here a month ago. Didge says that it didn't feel right back then - but now she's ready.
The rest of the teen gang rock up and are stunned when Declan and Didge tell them they're getting hitched.
Declan and Didge are having a chat with the priest, who is a bit concerned that their parents aren't there. But Dec and Didge assure the priest that their families have given their blessing, and that they're totally ready to be committed to one another. DECLAN: I love Bridget, and she loves me. We've been through too much for anybody to tell us that we're just young kids getting carried away. Whether you marry us or not, we're going to be together. DIDGE: Absolutely. DECLAN: The three of us. DIDGE: Always. The priest agrees to marry them and asks to see the note of intent of marriage. Declan just so happens to be carrying it around in his wallet... If only he could remember where he last put it.
then Didge makes he grand entrance. She's wearing a gorgeous knee-length vintage dress with lace up the top, which really suits her. She's also barefoot, giving her a slight ethereal feel. Declan can't wipe the grin off his face as he watches her walk towards him. DECLAN: Ready? DIDGE: Ready. Crossfade to Declan and Didge exchanging their vows. DIDGE: When we first met, I never dreamt we'd end up here. I thought we'd end up in jail. But then you kissed me. I promise to always put us before me. To share everything. And I promise not to be too cranky... At least most of the time. DECLAN: When you dropped my abseiling rope is when I fell for you. They all laugh. DECLAN: We are so much better together then we are apart. You make me be a better man. You'll also help me be a great dad to Tadpole. DIDGE: Just like you'll help me be a great mum. (She looks down at her stomach) And we'll always love you. DECLAN: Always. DIDGE: Even if you steal cars with the girl next door. They exchange rings and the priest pronounces them husband and wife. They grin and kiss one another. Donna cries happy tears. Didge suddenly flinches but everything is cool - Tadpole's just saying congratulations. Dec and Didge kiss some more.
The teens clap and cheer the newly married couple, throwing rose petals into the air. Molly is put in charge of taking some pictures on someone's camera (after getting a quick crash course when she holds the phone back-to-front). All the teens pose for happy snaps then Donna, Sunny, Ringo and Zeke step aside for the newlyweds to get some taken alone. Sunny thinks Dec and Didge should go on a honeymoon and Ringo suggests the Winter Cool Music Festival. Donna thinks Ringo's insane - why would Didge want to camp out in the cold? But Didge overhears and thinks it's an awesome idea. Didge then does the throwing of the bouquet, but it lands at Donna's feet with a thud because everyone's attention has been drawn to a car pulling up at the church. Rebecca, Steve and Miranda have arrived and they look utterly gobsmacked (well, Rebecca looks kind of shocked and kind of like she just wants to go, “... OMG! WEEEE!”). MIRANDA: What have you done?! Declan and Didge perfect the deer in headlights look.
5708 Declan comes in with a plate of food and Bridget says that they should have called them from the church. Bridget's worried about how long she'll hold it against her. Declan asks if she's hungry and snatches the plate from him, saying she's starving. DECLAN: Is there anything else I can get you? BRIDGET: Chocolate orange mud cake with whipped cream? DECLAN: From Harolds? Argh! They have a giggle and Declan says he'll go but only because its their wedding night. He goes off and Bridget stops him at the door and tells him he's the best husband ever.
In their room, Declan says he doesn't mind if it makes her mum happy and Didge knows Rebecca will love it. Bridget notices he's got something on his mind and Declan says it's just stuff to do with his mum and Paul. But he doesn't want to talk about it and says that they're going on their honey moon. He gets Bridget to stand up on the bed and says it's a cruise ship for them and they can go wherever they like. Bridget suggests Tahiti and Declan turns on the imaginary autopilot. They're now walking along the ship's deck and Bridget spots an imaginary dolphin. DECLAN: I think it's a herd of dolphins. BRIDGET: You mean a pod. DECLAN: If we are pretending, it can be whatever I want. BRIDGET: Oh look, an island! With coconut trees! They start discussing the big feast they're going to have on board the ship.

5712 Organizer Declan is showing Steve that he and Didge will have a responsible time at the concert - he's packed blankets, water, a first aid kit and has even mapped out a route to the nearest hospital. Miranda and Rebecca are impressed but grumpy pants Steve doesn't give his blessing. STEVE: It's just too dangerous. What if they start that stupid mooshing business and you get knocked over? DECLAN: (smirking) Geez, we didn't think of that. DIDGE: Yeah, wow, mooshing is so dangerous. DECLAN: What were we thinking? DIDGE: Heavens, I don't know... Dad, it's called moshing! STEVE: Whatever. Miranda thinks that the kids should go, and Dec and Didge pretty much tell Steve that they were only asking him to be polite: they're going either way.
5715 Elsewhere, the kids are wondering how to get backstage to see one of the bands. Declan and Didge try it on with a security guard who ain't havin' any of it, dude, but when he has to go sort out a fight, Declan and Didge run backstage. Sunny apologises to Zeke for chickening out of trying to get backstage, and they decide to wander off together.
5716 Ringo and Declan want to head back out and after a kiss from their partners they do so and Elle heads out too to have a chat with the policeman. Oh no, it looks like Declan shouldn't have left because Didge has just had a contraction!
5717 Declan races in after running all the way through the bush, and he's already panting because he's out of breath so that's a plus. He takes Donna's place and hugs Didge. Rebecca beams when she hears her son's voice. Declan tells Didge to concentrate on her breathing. Lucas and Ringo run in but do a quick about-face when they survey the scene. And you thought the posters in the doctor's surgery were bad, Ringo! Didge pants and pants and pants and...
Trisha lets Karl know that the cord is out of the way. Pleased, Karl tells Didge that it's time to start pushing. To get herself through the immense pain, Didge focuses on all of her memories of her and Declan. We see clips of Declan saying that he loves her, Didge telling Declan that she's pregnant, their picnic in the park, Declan kissing her around the time of the ‘I'm sorry' CD, their SMS commitment ceremony and their actual wedding ceremony. Back in the present, the baby has arrived, much to Didge‘s happiness and relief. Declan ecstatically yells into the phone that it's a girl and the #26 crew whoop it up. Rebecca looks concerned, though, when she can't hear any crying. As does Didge. She asks Trisha why she can't hear noise, but Trisha pretends that the baby just needs time.
Didge and Declan are relieved when Tadpole finally starts to cry and Didge asks to hold her, but Trisha says that the baby is still floppy and isn't gaining any colour. Lucas guides a medic from the chopper into the tent. Trisha hands (a very cute-looking) Tadpole over and says her vitals aren't good. The medic takes the baby outside. DIDGE: (upset) But I didn't hold her. Didge and Declan are panicked. Declan doesn't want to leave Didge, but Didge insists that he travel with Tadpole in the chopper. Declan kisses her and rushes outside. Didge stares after him, scared and distressed.
5718 Bridget wants to go and see Tadpole but she can't go as her blood pressures elevated. Declan is already in hospital and tries to calm Bridget down, however she only wants to see her baby and doesn't care about herself. Declan tells her to do what the doctors say and he'll be with her soon. Declan waits outside as Miranda, Steve and Rebecca turn up asking how Tadpole is. Declan miserably says they're working on her and Rebecca hugs him.
Didge wants Declan to see her and it's fine for him to go and he brings Miranda and Rebecca along with him.
Bridget beams and goes on the way to see her baby. Declan is in the baby care as Bridget is wheeled in and she finally gets to see her baby, who is making the cutest noises! BRIDGET: Dec, we made her.
Bridget beams and goes on the way to see her baby. Declan is in the baby care as Bridget is wheeled in and she finally gets to see her baby, who is making the cutest noises! BRIDGET: Dec, we made her.
DECLAN: Thank you, but Didge did all the heavy lifting. BRIDGET: Don't worry, when you get home you'll be changing heaps of nappies. DECLAN: Does anyone else want a cuddle? 5723 Donna's really excited about the baby coming home and says she bought her a bunny outfit with matching ears and hat. She squeals with delight as the car pulls up outside. Steve is showing Rebecca the room he's fixed up for the baby. Rebecca thinks it's lovely and fine for the baby but she's not quite sure about Bridget. We haven't yet seen the room but as far as we know, there's pink. Declan is carrying Tadpole in the little baby seat as Donna hugs Didge. They fuss over the baby, who's looking as adorable as ever, and Bridget asks where her dad is. Miranda says he's in the nursery but won't let anyone in there. BRIDGET: Lets go have a look. REBECCA: Uhh no. Not so fast! DECLAN: Are you stalling us? REBECCA: Yeah. Look, I think he's having a bit of a crisis, might want to change a few things around. BRIDGET: That's ridiculous! Donna suggests she should go in to make sure everythings ok but Bridget says that she can mind the baby. Donna doesn't want to deny minding Tadpole and they all leave for the nursery, leaving Donna happily fussing over the baby. Bridget is the first to walk in the nursery and Steve asks her what she thinks of it. Bridget looks around and we see Steve has made a banner across the window saying ‘Welcome Home Tadpole', he's decorated the room all pink with baby lights and has made the room look fantastic for the baby. Bridget beams and loves it and they walk in. DECLAN: It's a bit…girly. STEVE: Well, she is a girl. Bridget notices the ‘Welcome Home Tadpole' sign and Miranda comments on how she'll end up with Tadpole on her birth certificate. Bridget says it's time to come up with a proper name for her.
None of the names were right and put Tadpole to sleep. They try to leave but Tadpole starts to cry. She likes the sound of Bridget's voice so Bridget talks to her, asking her to sleep. BRIDGET: We just want you to get some sleep, because we really want you to grow up big and strong. we've got lots of exciting plans for you. DECLAN: Like what? BRIDGET: Well, we're all going to see the world together. Just the three of us and, if I can still study to be a doctor while I'm looking after you, then we will live in another country one day. Like Zimbabwe or India! She continues to talk and Declan outbursts that he's found the name. India. Bridget loves it and Tadpoke appears to like it. The parents are at the door and they tell them the name is India.
5724 Little India is crying her lungs out, and Declan and Bridget are running out of ideas. DECLAN: Maybe we should ask the parentals? BRIDGET: We are the parentals! In the kitchen, Rebecca, Miranda and Steve are getting used to their granddaughters name. Hearing the cries continue, Miranda wonders if they should go and lend a hand. The three agree that they don't want to look as though they are pushing Dec and Didge and agree to leave them be to keep trying, though if it hasn't stopped in five minutes, they'll go through and help. Back in the bedroom, Bridget has lifted India from her cot and is trying to comfort her crying daughter. Declan suggests they go through the checklist once more; her nappy is fine, her temperature is fine, and Didge has just fed her so it's none of the above. The new parents are left rather lost and confused, unable to comfort their daughter.
Declan and Bridget are onto tactic #117, taking India for a walk to try and settle her. Declan wonders if it's time to ask for help, but Bridget still feels she should be able to do it herself. Stopping by a table, Bridget sends Declan off to get her a hot chocolate. DECLAN: I'll go to Charlie's - family discount!
India is still crying her little lungs out, much to the distress of her new parents. Declan decides it's time for time out, leaving Bridget to hold the fort.
Bridget is beginning to lose her patience with India. Miranda arrives, so Declan takes it as his cue for another break
5725 In the lounge the following morning, Didge comes in, wondering where India is. She's asleep in a portable cot, on the table, in front of Dec and Steve who look utterly wiped out. Miranda and Becca come in, wondering how on earth the boys managed to get their granddaughter to sleep,
India is crying in the lounge whilst Miranda, Steve, Didge and Declan are in the kitchen discussing Elle's lack of maternal instinct, especially when India threw up on her top. Steve thinks it looked like crème brulee. They suddenly realise that India has stopped crying.
5727 Steve and Miranda are amused by Didge and Declan's military-style baby bag packing regime - the new parents don't want India's routine to be upset while they're at school. The teens arrive to escort Didge and Declan out of the house, but Didge is having a hard time leaving her daughter. She gives her a cuddle with Declan and says not to forget her. Miranda and Steve promise they'll take good care of their granddaughter. India kind of looks like she's waving, aww.
Didge tries again but then Amanda interrupts and smirkingly says that Didge is leaking. She covers her chest and runs out of the classroom to the sound of Justin snickering. Declan chases after her.
Declan smiles when he finds Didge trying to call home to check on India. Didge admits she hasn't been able to concentrate on school all day. Declan wonders if they came back too soon and says they could delay their lessons for a few weeks, but Didge doesn't want to admit defeat and says they'll be OK. DECLAN: It's OK to admit that we made a mistake. DIDGE: We didn't make a mistake! DECLAN: (smiling) Alright Miss Bridget ‘Stubborn' Parker. All I'm saying is that admitting that we're wrong is gutsier than sticking to a bad decision just for the sake of it. DIDGE: No, I'm going to do this. DECLAN: Supermum and Superstudent. DIDGE: That's me.
Miranda and Steve are cooing over the baby when Declan and Didge arrive home. Didge immediately goes in for the cuddle with her daughter.
5729 Declan and India come to visit Bridget in jail. Declan wants to know what Bridget was thinking going to the protest and tells her it's no longer just about her, they need to think about India first of all. Bridget apologises and says she ‘stuffed up'.
Miranda and Steve decide to put India to bed. When they've gone, Bridget wants to know if Declan is angry with her. He says he could never stay mad at her for too long as she's too cute. But he does think they need to change their priorities, they can't keep doing ‘stuff' and run themselves ragged anymore. Bridget says she doesn't think they should have to slow down just because they've just had a baby, but Declan's worried about her. Bridget insists she's fine to both go to school, look after India, find time to study and other things- she's got a schedule where everything is planned into. Declan wants her to have some time just for herself and for them. Bridget says she'll always find time for them, but when Declan suggests that they just hang out and watch TV it proves his point. Bridget's too busy to do it as she needs to look after India and then study.
Bridget is on the couch with India in her arms when Declan comes back from work. He wants to take his girls out for a walk in the park, but Bridget says she can't come as she's so much behind on her work. Besides, she's told Kate she would help out with the Physics studying as well. DECLAN: You are unbelievable. BRIDGET: Unbelievably gorgeous? DECLAN: Absolutely. Declan suggests a compromise then and tells Bridget to call Kate and arrange for them to study at the park.
Declan and Bridget arrive with India in her pram.
Declan is waffling on about football stuff, but Bridget isn't really listening to what he's saying. He asks if she's alright and she says she's fine.
Back again to Bridget and Declan where she's now decided that she wants to keep doing all the things she would like to do, she'll just need some more time to get it all done. That's why she's decided to finish year 12 over two years. Declan thinks that's a very good idea and there's smiles all around as Bridget tears up her life schedule as she won't be needing it anymore.
Miranda finds Declan, Bridget and India cuddling on the sofa. Steve comes in as well and they watch the happy trio. Bridget glances up at Declan before lying back down with her head on his chest.
5731 Declan is relived not to find a dirty nappy when he changes India, and Didge sarcastically thanks him when she enters the nursery for what he also said to India about keeping it (the dirty nappy) for mummy (Didge overheard via the baby monitor when she was in the livingroom). The two of them then discuss whether to have godparents for India and who they should be. Didge suggests Riley and Declan suggests Oliver although Didge points out that Ollie doesn't even live in Australia! He reminds her that Ollie already has the experience of being a dad but they agree to think it over.
Didge then pulls Declan aside to talk godparents – she's ruled out both Riley and Ollie in favour of someone living close by and suggests they ask one of their close friends. “How do we choose them” is Declan's first thought and Didge suggests some sort of questionnaire although Declan isn't really jumping for joy at the specimens in front of him (Donna is in a trance and Ringo and Zeke are capering). Donna then rejects Didge's offer of a chat to go sort out her family, “whatever that is” she adds before departing.
in the kitchen Declan mentions to Didge that the godparent test didn't go well. The two of them retreat into the nursery with India leaving the others to watch the video. In the nursery, Declan suggests going back to plan A – Ollie. As they continue their conversation, it's being overheard in the livingroom by the other teens thanks to the baby monitor. Oops! The livingroom teens aren't impressed at the reasons the teen parents give for ruling them out as being godparents – Donna for being flaky, Zeke for having too many issues and Ringo for being a bit of a meathead and not caring much about babies. Ringo is all set to confront them but Donna stops him however both boys decide to leave the house. Commercial break later and the parents come out of the bedroom wondering where the guys are and Donna lies about the real reason before beating a hasty retreat herself. “That was weird” Declan comments before Didge notices the baby monitor and to their relief notice that its switched off but wonder if their private conversation was overheard.
5732 Declan is trying to settle India while Didge frets about not receiving texts from Ringo and Zeke. Declan thinks India has colic and accuses Didge of eating dairy yesterday, but Didge is adamant she didn't. Didge continues to worry about their friends - they said some awful things - but Declan reckons they would have had their heads bitten off by now if the teens did overhear them.
India is still crying. Declan's still blaming Didge for eating dairy. Miranda and Steve wake up because of all the noise, followed not long after by Mickey and Lou (who is wearing what can only be described as a miniskirt robe - and no trousers). DECLAN: Do you think you could wear a shorter robe? The dairy debacle is solved when Lou reminds Didge that she had a scoop of ice-cream at the store yesterday.
Dec's complaining about going to school, but Didge says her day isn't all that exciting, she'll just be packing for Oakey. The duo are surprised when Donna and Ringo stop by to invite them to the party that night. Donna claims that's why they left without warning yesterday - to plan the shindig. Didge believes her, but Declan takes one look at Ringo's stank face and knows things ain't a'ight down in the hood, yo. When Donna and Ringo leave, Didge is all happy that the teens didn't overhear their godparent talk, but Declan still isn't convinced.
Mickey mopes to Steve, Didge and Declan about it.
Donna, Zeke and Ringo are all in Indian-inspired outfits setting up the party. Sunny is off somewhere unseen teaching her parents how to use Skype. Didge and Declan (carrying India) are amused when they arrive and are immersed in the Bollywood-ness. Donna and Zeke are acting relatively normal but you can tell that Ringo is just bursting to cause a scene with his snide little asides. Later, Donna collects the dinner plates after Dec and Didge finish their big meals. DIDGE: Thanks Donna that was amazing. I think I'm pregnant again! DECLAN: Oh no. Declan thanks the teens for downsizing the party for them, it was a smart move. Ringo snits that they're not always dumb. Donna quickly brings out the desserts but Didge feels too full from the delicious, velvety Rogan Josh. Donna says she added about two tubs of yoghurt to it. Whoops. Declan goes off on his patent dairy rant and tells Donna off for including it (she was told about the dairy ordeal in an earlier scene). Donna feels awful, especially when Declan continues to add that they're in for another sleepless night, so Ringo tells Declan to shut his face.
Collecting India, Declan doesn't get why the teens didn't say anything about overhearing them, but Zeke and Ringo reply that they were playing nice for Donna's sake. Didge says they didn't mean what they said - they just wanted to take the godparent decision really seriously. Zeke retorts that it sounded like none of them were deemed good enough for the role. Declan does the whole, “You have no idea what we're going through” line and Zeke tells him not to throw that in their face. The arguing gets louder and louder. Donna, who has been silent all this time, finally snaps.
5733 Bridget says India's finally down and that she couldn't even sleep with everyone hating them. Declan says they won't be mad forever but Bridget says it's his fault, he wanted godparents and look where it landed them. Declan says they're not real friends if they don't understand and we hear a very high pitched scream from India. Declan says he'll get it and Bridget tells him to forget it.
Bridget's still obsessing that Ringo, Zeke and Donna haven't texted back but Declan tells her not to care so much, they won't have done. Bridget says he should care too
Miranda and Steve notice Declan all tired and Bridget says that child's a monster but Miranda says she's just cranky is all. Bridget says she had to get up about 50 times and Declan says he had to get up the other 50 times. Bridget says the rest of the night he was snoring his head off and Declan argues he was tired. Bridget says she is too and Declan gets fed up and goes to the gym. Miranda tells Steve to go after him, he needs a talk. Steve does and Miranda asks Bridget if everything's ok, but it isn't. Everything is a disaster and it's Declans fault.
Miranda tells Bridget that things will have calmed down by the time they get back as they pack India's things. Declan comes in bringing the stuff Miranda asked for and Miranda goes. Declan and Bridget are about to say something but both start at the same time. Declan offers her to go first. In the kitchen, Steve can hear Bridget apologizing to Declan for being a cow over the baby monitor. Miranda comes in and stops to listen too as Bridget says they shouldn't be fighting with each other. Back in the nursery, they both say they sent a sorry text to their friends but nothing back. Bridget asks him to work on that when she's gone and once she's back they can sort it out properly. Declan says they can sort out godparents too but Bridget can't believe he'd still want to go through that. In the kitchen, the folks hear an argument brewing of Didge listing the reasons why they shouldn't do it but Declan says it's important to him. In the nursery, Bridget says it's stupid but Declan says she doesn't want it and she's annoyed because it's not going her way. From the start, she's been saying how it goes and starts with the adoption. BRIDGET: Don't you dare bring that up! DECLAN: Why not? Because it proves my point? Miranda and Steve are disappointed in hearing the argument as Declan tells Bridget she never cares what he thinks and leaves her in a huff.
Declan and Bridget are trying to sleep, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, Declan in the nursery and Bridget on the sofa. After a while, Bridget creeps into the nursery where Declan is sleeping on the floor and Declan offers her a side of the duvet. They kiss and make up and promise never to fight again and they cuddle as they sleep.
Across the street, the Parkers are packing up and taking practically everything with them. Declan says goodbye to India and one last one to Bridget. Bridget wishes that the others were there to send her off and Declan says he'll work on them whilst she's gone. Bridget tells her to put up the shelves in the nursery and Miranda ushers her to come along. Declan says he'll miss her and they kiss and say they love each other before getting into the car. They drive off, the car not sounding too well I might add, as Bridget waves outside the car window, Declan waving back.
Steve pulls to the side of the road to look at the map whilst Bridget gets a call from Declan. She tells him they've been driving for ages and that India's been asleep the whole way so far. Bridget asks if he's spoken to the others yet and Declan says he's been trying to get hold of Ringo but no luck. Steve tells her rest stop's over and they say goodbye.
5736 Declan is fretting while they wait for everyone to enter the hospital that he hasn't been told anything about potential injuries, so Susan tries to reassure him that its just so that he isn't told any wrong information. He catches Peggy to get some information from her but she won't tell him anything until she's assessed Didge and leaves so she can meet the now newly arrived Didge as she is wheeled into the hospital. Declan stares at his unconscious wife in slow motion as she is wheeled into an examination room while the medics bring Peggy up to speed.
5737 Didge, Declan and 1-year-old India (all wearing white) are having a teddy bears' picnic in the park to celebrate India's birthday. Declan and Didge banter about India's future as an Olympic sprinter - Declan will be her coach. The proud parents share a kiss...
Steve and Miranda are standing vigil, but are elated when Didge's eyes flutter open. Steve rushes off to get Dr Newton and Didge immediately asks for Declan. DECLAN: I'm here. (He breathes a huge sigh of relief and sits next to her) You had me going crazy. DIDGE: What's the time? MIRANDA: You don't have to worry about that now. DIDGE: What's the time? DECLAN: It's just past ten thirty. DIDGE: I missed you. Declan smiles and strokes her cheek. Didge glances at the clock. It's 10:33am.
Didge stares at her baby girl (who is in a crib next to the bed) while Declan holds her hand. Dec asks if Didge remembers anything, but Didge says all she can recall is trying to keep India warm while she was looking for help. DECLAN: Yeah the rescuer said you walked for ages. DIDGE: Really? DECLAN: That's my girl. Tough as. Declan stands up to go and retrieve Steve and Miranda but Didge tells him to wait. DIDGE: We need... We need to sort something out first. It's just, if something did ever happen to me. If I did actually... DECLAN: Didge. DIDGE: I need to say this. (She looks at India) I need to know that if I weren't here that you'd promise to look after Indy. DECLAN: I'm going to go get your mum, OK? DIDGE: Promise me. Love her. Give her the best life you can. DECLAN: ... OK. I promise. (Concerned) Why are you talking like this? DIDGE: I don't know. Declan figures the medication must be messing with her head. He goes over to pick up India (who grumbles when she's woken up causing James to ad-lib a very adorable, “Sorry sweetie”), and holds her close. DECLAN: I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Either of you. I'm going to keep you both safe. Forever. (Didge beams at him) DECLAN: There's my Didge. He promises he'll be back soon. Didge stares at the clock. It's 11:15am.

Didge is slowly walking to a big, white light when she hears Declan call out to her. She turns around to see him holding India at the other end of the path. DIDGE: I have to go. I love you Declan Napier. DECLAN: I love you too Bridget Parker. Looking utterly gorgeous surrounded in the white light, Didge smiles at her family. Declan takes India's hand and waves at her. DECLAN: I love you mummy. Taking one last look at her husband and daughter, Didge blows them a kiss and walks into the light. And in the whisper of a breeze... She's gone.

Whoa! This is awesome.
If you are going through for screencaps on NeighboursEpisodes.com you can search them out by clicking "Gallery" at the top of the page and selecting the characters you want. It should speed up the screencap search a little if you're using that site.
Really awesome job - well done!

Wow alot of reading here. Better get started. Thanks for doing this. Its brilliant but tinged with quite a bit of saddness just knowing that it will all be over soon. On a different note ... can I please ask, what has happened to 'Behind the Scenes'. I went to look at it the other day but couldn't find it anywhere??? Sorry I couldn't thnk of where else to ask!
